I bought mine a few months ago but, because of the long winter, I didn't set it up until today. I just paired it with my phone and I must say, the speaker quality for the music is really good. I'll have to wait for a ride with my g/f to see how well the talk function is.
Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised how well this works for the price. Honestly I prefer the Fodsports over the more expensive units. I find they work better and you can't beat the price!
Hey Joe, I really enjoyed your review and the "New Yawk" accent! What's your feeling about replacing the Fodsports ear phones and mic with in-ear phones & mic to reduce wind noise (save hearing) and improve sound quality? I've never used in helmet communicators, but I can tell you that wind noise above 55 mph gets annoying. I think that many riders use ear plugs with their bluetooth headsets, but it seems the plugs would dramatically reduce music sound quality because it's being filtered by the plugs and competing with wind noise. What's your experience?
Thanks for watching. I dont know if this helps, but I ride WITH earplugs in. I use the regular orange foam ones and I actually think the Fodsports sound better with the earplugs. Most of these headsets have such small speakers that they really provide little base and are very tinny sounding. I find with the earplugs it cuts out that high end and makes it sound perfect. Some units like the Cardo I had, just weren't loud enough with earplugs. I find the Fodsports have higher volume and you can still hear them fine with the plugs in. So you may want to try that first instead of replacing the speakers. You might be surprised how well it works.
Use FX6 itself synonymous. Works very well. Also with app Honda Road Sync and Calimoto. But... you want to make the following connection. Intercom with 2 devices. Calimoto should also be audible for both devices from the cell phone. But the intercom should also work. Is the? Haven't made it until now. Does the 2nd device also have to be connected to the mobile phone where Calimoto is running?
Honestly, I don't think so. I've tried multiple Cardo's and I some of my friends have a combo of Cardo and Sena's, and although they are good, I do not think it justifies the price. Feature wise they are the same, sound quality the same...Unless you spend for the JBL speakers on the Cardo's. Those do sound better, but we're talking about helmet speakers here on a motorcycle with engine and wind noise. For me, spending that amount of money for a little bit better quality sound is not worth it for what I'm using these for
@@Mudslidex1Do you know if it’s better volume as well as the quality? I’ve got this fods6 but just bought a neotec lid and getting new comms but dunno whether to pay extra for cardo just for it to hopefully be louder with earplugs at speed etc
@@t-rex4211 I now have a Cardo Packtalk edge and the sound and volume is better. But not by much. Without earplugs the Cardo sounds better. With earplugs they sound similar. @@Mudslidex1 ok cheers. A little bit louder may be all I need. Fod6 was £70. They do a fod10c now with mesh for £120 but tend to ride alone or 1 other…. But then only £30 more I’d have the cardo freecom x2. If I get that I’ll have to make sure I don’t make new friends as it hasn’t got mesh 😉

I just got a chance to test it yesterday on the highway. This will of course depend on your helmet and the wind noise it produces. The Fodsports definitely has the volume at higher speeds, but it does sound "tinny" at higher volumes. When I ride highway, I always were ear plugs which definitely makes the music sound better as it cuts down the high end frequencies. At lower speeds without much wind noise the Fodsports sounds good at a lower volume without ear plugs. So if you wear earplugs at highway riding, it should be fine as it does have the volume.
I'm actually like the GPX a little better. In fact they just sent me another one that I'm in the middle of reviewing now and that video should be out either end of day today or tomorrow
Hola a todos. Habéis podido conectar ambos intercom al Google maps del móvil para que ambos ocupantes escuchen las instrucciones del navegador?? Gracias!
Thanks. I'm not sure if you can on this unit. I haven't been able to figure it out. I think you have to go for the FODSPORTS M1-S Plus, as that one does support sharing music. But I have to look more into it.
@@johankolver9272 Yes, that is correct. It's a Micro USB for that too. The FX6 has 2 micro-usb ports. One is for charging, and the other is how it connects to the earpieces and microphone. The left and right earpieces and the microphone are all wired into one Micro-usb connection which then plugs into the FX6. I know some brands use the 1/8" mini audio jack, but many now are using either Micro-USB or USB-C for the audio connections
