- Using Tank Machine subframe block off and new Combustion Industries 1920 brackets/Micron lights, I finally dig into the fender delete mod and show you how to do it. The whole process was easier and more enjoyable than I expected.

My condolences for your Father. May he Rest in Peace. Ride on!
Thank you!
My condolences lost my grandfather 4 months ago and was a man that love to work with his hands also love what you are doing with the bike and dreamed to have one of my own one day
Sorry for your loss as well!
I love watching your videos when I have a spare time. I'm so sorry for your loss.
Thank you Judy!
My condolences to you and your family. Lost my mom 2 weeks ago.
Thanks for the great detailed content.
Thank you sir! Sorry for your loss
Sorry for your loss man I know exactly how you feel lost my dad way earlier than I ever thought but nothing can prepare you for that news even if you were expecting it, glad to see you keeping yourself busy it can be hard to do that after such an incident
Thank you! Gotta keep moving!
Tinker therapy, you couldn’t have done better my man! Bike looks great. And sending best wishes.
Thanks dude!
Awesome video as usual, man. Bobber Ann looks better every time. My condolences for your loss.
Thank you so much for the support!
My condolences…
People are different I guess.
I lost my father last year… cried few months everyday and never left my room.
I still cry when I remember him.
I am amazed you made a video the day you lost your dad!
Thanks man!
my condolences Jim. The old man lives through his memories. Thanks for the video
Thank you sir!
Sorry for your loss, my heart goes out to you and your family ❤
Appreciate that!
I love love love that bike, and my condolences for your loss sir.
Thank you!
Watching you channel from Kazakhstan. Great videos 👍🏻. My sincere condolences, 🙏🙏🙏
That's awesome! Thank you!
So sorry for your lose brotha but you did a great job on that rear end and video!!! Keep it up!
Thank you sir!
Really sorry to hear about your dad, but it sounds like he definitely had a nice long life and you honored him well with this video.
Great “how to” video on this mod!! Would love to see a few “fly-by” clips of you riding it with the new delete sometime🙂
Thanks man! I'd love to get some rolling shots!
Sorry for your loss brother..
Thank you sir!
Damn! Sick video! Subbed! Sorry about your loss :/
Thank you!
Looks good man. Sorry for your loss.
Appreciate it!
I've been waiting for this video from you for a long time, thank you for this. Hoping to see maybe a little bit wider tire on the back ? 180 maybe. These 240 are a little bit too much for me. Also TankMachine also makes a very thin fender that licks the tire and mounts on to the swing arm. Would look sick too.
Also I'm sorry for your loss, my condolences. It is the natural order of things I guess. I'll raise a glass to that tonight. Cheers and thanks for the video.
Hey thanks man! I installed a 180 yesterday! I do like tank machine's fender also, but not sure I'll stay with the 180 or not forever
Amazing Video brother! Thanks again! Ride for Dad? I'd make the trip from Canada!
Thanks bro! I did a bit of riding last week for sure.
Great job Jim!
Thanks man
Sorry for your loss
Thank you my friend!
I’m new to your channel and I stopped to watch it because I love your bike I love what you’re doing to it and I really wanna India now I’m fed up with Harley Davison‘s high prices i’m truly sorry about your father my father died a few years ago he was 90 and it’s a hard thing to go through. I think when I get my bike the first thing I wanna do is change exhaust and I’d really like to do something with the back tire like put a 200 or 240 on it. Great video.
Thanks man, a lot of people do a 240 rear and it looks pretty fantastic!
just seeing this now you got a new sub, and sorry to hear about ur dad even though its over a year old i hope all is well
Thank you!
Congratulations man it looks amazing!
Thank you!
Sorry for your loss man.
Thanks man!
This looks really good
Thank you!
Another great video. Any worries about dirt, water, debris splashing up on the rider ??
Not really. I avoid riding in adverse conditions. Even with the fender on, you still get a skidmark up the back.
Can you easily add the rear fender and seat back on? And keep the brake lights you installed?
Yeah man, it should be just as easy to reverse. There are blanks you can get to fill the spots in the fenders where the lights used to be.
God bless your DAD, sorry for your loss.
I appreciate it!
I took care of my dad for his last 60 days+ until the end in his home. I wish you peace and resolution.
Thanks Bob, same to you!
Absolutely amazing that Seat looks uncomfortable though
I have a 1 year review of the seat on my channel. It is more comfortable than you'd think, but not for long road trips by any means.
Sorry for your loss,
I appreciate it sir!
sorry to hear about your dad may he rest easy, how does the tyre spray affect the ride with no back guard
Even with the rear fender, I would see water go over my head and in front of me in the rain lol. You're gonna get wet if you ride in the wet.
Amazing great job
Looks great! A fatter rear tire will totally make it pop more.
Getting a 180 installed as we speak! But I do plan on going 240 probably next year.
@@Jimbobbington The 240 kit looks amazing but is a big investment. 180 is **chefs kiss**.
@@Jimbobbington
Question, so now what if you have to access your battery? How you would get the cover off with the back lights wiring.
It's no different than with the rear fender. Just have to remove the seat and the cover to get to the battery
I like the license plate mount…where’d you get it?
Look at the description of the video, there's an email you can reach out to Alex who makes these.
Great video! When the bike was stock. Did water get into where the wires and everything is at. Like where you drilled your holes… Are you worried about water getting into those holes now?
That area has never been waterproof, I don't foresee it being an issue honestly.
Sorry for your loss.
Thank you!
My sincere condolences. RIP!
Thank you!

What exhaust is that? Bike looks amazing
Thank you! In this video I'm running the Hacker Mayhem exhaust.
Hey man, thanks for the video. Do you have a part number for the battery cover that you used for this build? I’m starting with a standard Scout not a bobber, and have the 1920 solo seat installed. Thanks bro.
The battery cover used for this is the one for the regular scout with the 1920. It should be the one you already have installed.
Can you list the P/N for the plastic cover over the battery area?
Crap, I thought I had it but that was for the kit that goes with the fender. You need the one meant for the regular scout of you go fenderless. I'm have to look again.
This looks to be the correct part

Hi Jimbobbington - exhaust look amazing -where to buy? Thanks Regards from Australia
store.hackercustomexhaust.com/product325.html
hello, my friend
the bike is very pretty
i wanted to know where you bought the parts?
Thank you
Check the description of the video for links to the parts used
If i want to buy a 1920 solo seat and do a fender delete. What exact parts do i need to buy. A list in reply would be appreciated.
Other than the seat itself, the tail lights, block off, and license plate relocation links are all in the description of this video.
@@Jimbobbington I'm a bit confused to the required parts. So just to confirm when you buy the 1920 solo seat, it come with a close off cover, Which is the cover plate needed if you are doing a fender delete. And the other close off cover which is sold separately is required if the fender remains on the bike?
So would that mean that i only need to buy the 1920 solo seat ( which comes with a cover for fender delete) and the tank frame cover?
@@jugomister1 correct! But by removing the fender, you need to figure out how you want to run brake lights and mount license plate also
Now that I've got the bagger, the bobber will have a naked ass soon. Love the look and you have me sold on the tank machine close off. It does look so much better than others I've seen.
It's worth it's weight in Euros, that's for sure! Can't wait to see what your bobber turns into!
Is it a 3 in 1 lights, signal, hazard, and brake ? Or how do you make it 3 in 1 ?
Yes, the combustion industries lights do all 3, but all red, no orange.
My condolences to you and your family. 🙏🏻
Thank you so much!
Sorry if someone has already asked you this question but what light type did you order for your build 2/3 wire?? They sell several on their website. thx
My brake lights are the 3 wire red/red version. The 2 wire would be for only turn signals if you added a separate brake light function.
Search my channel for the original rear brake light install to see that process a bit better.
which number is the allen bolt next to the battery?
Sorry, I'm not honestly sure
Hey Jim! Huge fan of the channel and of the bike.
How long did the plate take to arrive? And was this the only solution you found? Kind of nervous spending over 400 on an overseas company in France
Tank machine is a very reputable company with very high quality products. Don't be afraid to order from them. It took about 9 days to receive. There are other options, for instance Mother Road makes a plate for about $100 but it's just a flat piece of metal. NLC make a good looking one for a little over $300 which I ordered, but it ended up being fiberglass and I wasn't comfortable with that. Tank Machine is the only OEM looking option that fits perfectly and is built literally like a tank.
@@Jimbobbington I guess you talked me into it! Thanks for the info!!
@@DucksDoQuack haha sorry! 😄
@@Jimbobbington
Hey Jim, so I'm ordering the TM part.
One issue I'm hoping you can help with is I no longer have the original close off (I have the raised one with the I)
Where would I be able to find it without ordering an entire kit? I've looked Amazon/ ebay/ Google shopping
Thanks Jim!
@@DucksDoQuack i think tank Machine sells it, might as well get it at the same time.
Can you send me the link to purchase the sub frame tank machine
The link is right in the description of this video!
Jim I’m really sorry to hear about your dad.
Thanks man!
Man that Tank Machine close off plate is pricey. Looks so clean tho, but I can’t pull the trigger on it. Love the bike
It took me a long time to pull the trigger. There is literally nothing on the market that even comes close. Eventually I had to.
@@Jimbobbington I’m starting to realize that haha. It is super clean. Wish I could buy the floating seat bracket separately from the Indian website
@@jasonm9264 I even ordered a good looking option from NLC in Germany and it showed up in fiber glass. I'm much more comfortable with a half inch thick plate of aluminum holding the frame together.
@@Jimbobbington apparently I can’t post links in comments, but TM has a close off plate and that $140. Do you know if it’s any different than the one from Indian? Also, the stock bracket you bolted to the TM block off plate, is that something ghat would be on my bobber? I don’t have a 1920 seat or conversion. I’ll have to buy that from Indian yet to get the floating seat mount. Kinda sucks because ghat has a close off with it but looks like that won’t fit flush with that kit, correct?
@@jasonm9264 I'm not sure about the extra close off from TM. The bracket you mention comes with the extra close off you have to buy from Indian. The close off that comes with the 1920 seat is for the scout and doesn't work with the bobber. If you find my 1920 seat review video, the link to everything you need is in the description.
Where do I get the covers that you had to install?
The tank machine cover is linked in the description. The battery cover used comes with the 1920 seat when you purchase it new.
Condolences! When is the 240 happening??
Thank you! Wheels are expensive AF! I want to make sure I make the best decision there and plan on 240 being a winter/ next year project
I see where this is going :) 240?
Maybe one of these days!
+1 😄 I bet this might be the next mod! Go Jimbo! Go! ✌️

I have mine on order from RC component still waiting, I was told 4-6 weeks. 4 weeks are up
@@anematullah I've heard they are very hit or miss, I will not be dealing with them.
Hey Jimbo, I was trying to find that tank master fender delete plate and was curious where you were able to order it?
I ordered it directly from Tank Machine's website in from France. Only took about 9 days to receive.
@@Jimbobbington Awesome, I was looking around all over to find it but only saw a France website that had it so just wanted to make sure it was the same company. Figured since you were in the states like I am, there would be a local company but that has been the only one that looks and matches up perfectly. Thanks for the clarification!!!
@@killerbuellxb12 you bet man. I don't know how foreign taxes and shipping work, but I ended up paying a little less than the advertised price on the website to have it shipped here lol. 🙃
@@Jimbobbington Noice, always a plus
Are you able to link all the parts?
They should already be in the description of the video!
What size mm was the bolt that was hard to get to by the battery, was it hex or torx?
Damn, I didn't say did I? I believe it was 6mm Allan like almost everything else on this bike.
I finally got it. I did not have a tool that would fit in there so it took forever with an Allen key.
@@Rogue_Diesel where there's a will there a way!
Sorry to hear about your father's passing. R.I.P.

Hey! Is it legal to mount our plates like that in MN??
I wanna!
On a sadder note, I lost my dad in Oct '21. He was sick only about 2 weeks and it was not at all expected.
Sorry for your loss ;( I don't even think the sideways plays is legal here in Colorado but no cop has ever given me crap for it.
@@Jimbobbington I worked with an ex cop and he said no, but no one would pull me over for it directly. It would be a +1 if they found anything else and a warning otherwise.
@@gcanaday1 worth it! Haha
@@Jimbobbington hahaha
I bought a sideways standard holder anyway, I don't want to tempt them any more than I already do!
@@gcanaday1 haha fair enough
Sorry to hear about your Dad 🙏 Darn that looks awesome proper bobber look great job. Definitely think a bigger tyre on the back would finish this rear look off.
Thank you!
Where do I find this seat?
It is an oem 1920 solo seat. Should be able to find it at a lot of sellers, but I ordered it thru a dealer.
exhaust brand??
Hacker Mayhem. Check my channel for a review video.
The fender is a safety device. Once, as a kid, I had a friend riding two up with me and I goosed the throttle and he slipped off of the seat onto the fender. Just think what would have happened if I hadn't had a fender. He would have landed on the back tire and it would have pulled him in and sanded off his private parts. Plus, bikes don't look as cool as you think they do without fenders. It's just an unfortunate fad that probably won't last long. It's like relocating a tag. What could be stupider than sticking your tag out where the wind catches it and makes your aerodynamics even worse? Fortunately, lots of companies have realized that it's best to take modern tech and put it in classic motorcycle beauty. In the 70's they didn't have the technology but they did know something about beauty. And they had fenders, right? If you want a beautiful bike you have fenders. It's fine if you disagree. Here in America you have the right to be wrong. ; )
The stupid thing here IMO is to ride two up without an actual passenger seat. Not having a fenderless bike, even tho you are right about it being a safety device. That said, it is not a temporary fad, it's been around for years especially in the bobber scene. Your tastes are yours and yours only. If you don't like it it doesn't mean the counterpart is wrong. And you speak about companies putting modern tech, but companies are first and foremost subject to safety norms getting stricter and stricter, it isn't really a first choice for them.
I see your point. This mod is 100% reversible at this point. I'm going to leave it like this for a while and see if it's something I want to stock with permanently.
@@shark2075 Thanks for your input. Have a great day.
