17mm hex tool. I had to pause the video to get that information. Nice video. But be careful when raising that bike. As soon as I saw your center stand come off the ground I cringed.
I don't jack the bike up or loosen the pinch bolts until I loosen the bolt in the end of the axle. That way I can put more weight on it. I also leave the bolt partially threaded into the axle to push it out of the fork. My bike has a little bit of corrosion on the axle when I removed the axle. I fall of 2019 and it had been neglected. Upon reassembly, the axle was cleaned up and a light coating of grease was applied. I torque when the wheel is on the ground and bounce the fork up and down before tightening the pinch bolts to ensure that the forks are aligned.
I removed the front fender to avoid lifting the bike too far. It was a bit of a challenge getting the fender back on because the threaded, metal inserts kept wanting to come out. I ended up using strips of masking tape that was long enough to remove once mounted.
Ty for the video. Are you just lifting the bike with a Jack on the metal sump ? Do you have any wood under there ? Is it safe to lift it there is could you damage the sump tray.

There are several videos showing how this is done. This is one of the better ones. Commentary might have been helpful, but still a good quality video.
Excellent video. I appreciate your familiarity with the bike, made it look very straight forward. Thanks!
Excellent demo. Thanks!
This is an old video but should I wait until lowering it before tightening up the pinch bolts?

You can use wood. That is a pretty sturdy sump.
Thanks 2023
👍
The tool is a hex wrench
I should have let it back down before re mounting the calipers.
