It's sad to think it will never be the same again. I'm glad I was able to ride this version a few times and dream with it ! I love the music at the end
This is truly amazing, Thank you so much for this upload, I love to just shut off the lights and imagine myself aboard the time machine vehicle. Cheers
Well I adore the Judi Dench version. The new soundtrack is up there with Disneys best park music! This version brings back great memories but I enjoyed the ride this time round more than I ever have before. Sometimes nostalgia can cloud our judgement.
I went to EPCOT the year it opened and was gobsmacked with the entire park. The current Judi Dench audio is the fourth incarnation of this attraction. Then narration timeline is: Lawrence Dobkin: October 1, 1982 - May 25, 1986 Walter Cronkite: May 29, 1986 - August 15, 1994 Jeremy Irons: November 23, 1994 - July 9, 2007 Judi Dench: February 15, 2008-present
When I rode this in December 2001, I saw in the news reports scene near the end of the ride Lenny Harris of the New York Mets breaking the all-time pinch-hit record (a scene that I saw live at Shea Stadium)
OMG OMG OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS!!! I PREVIOUSLY COULD ONLY FIND THE MUSIC BUT THE PERSON DELETED HIS RUclips ACCOUNT, THEN I COULD ONLY FIND PART OF THIS AUDIO! THIS GOES STRAIGHT TO FAVORITES!!!!
Guys, guess what? In 2005, it was announced that Siemens would sponsor Spaceship Earth for the next twelve years. And the good news is that in 2017, we can try to get At&t to sponsor Spaceship Earth again! The result: If At&t re-sponsors the ride, At&t will probably get the New Global Neighborhood back, making the fake future of the Dench version not go so well with the New Global Neighborhood. Then At&t will HAVE to bring Spaceship Earth back to the best version of Spaceship Earth out of all of them: the Jeremy Irons version! If that can't happen, then At&t could bring back the Walter Cronkite version.
Recently went back to Epcot for the first time in 7 years and was really disappointed by the Judi Dench soundtrack. Jeremy Irons was far superior - thanks for posting this.
Personally I think the Walter Cronkite version of the ride is the best version, but this one is good too. On the other hand, I don't mind Judi Dench narrating the attraction. (But I really hate that stupid Jetsons thing at the end.)
It was up from 1999-2007. They got rid of it because public opinion thought it was garbage. Plus, Siemens, the new SSE sponsor thought it was garbage too and its removal was one of the conditions of their sponsorship.
"But will these seemingly infinite communications become a flood of electronic babble? Or will we use this power to usher in a new age of understanding and cooperation on this..." ummm.. most definitely the former.
Oh I thought you were talking about the Jeremy Irons version of the ride itself. I didn't realize you were referring to the wand. My bad. I hated that thing too.
I hadn't been to WDW since 2012. Was this still playing back then? I have been twice since.. I didn't much mind Judy Dench but now I hear this one, I much prefer it. Why the change?
This was the best version of the ride! The current version is lacking the climax the Walter Cronkite provided at the top of the sphere, and the ending of the new version with the video prompters is weak.
+David Monks You're right. It was composed for the ride, but it does have some flavours from a couple pieces by Bach and Beethoven. I searched long and hard a little while back to confirm this.
By public opinion I mean pretty much every Disney related message board all over The Internet thought it was garbage. That doesn't mean 100% of all people with any Disney interest whatsoever. However, the fact that your original comment on here has a "This comment has received too many negative votes" proves that the anti-wand crowd was in the majority.
It's sad to think it will never be the same again. I'm glad I was able to ride this version a few times and dream with it ! I love the music at the end
8:34 and on, still give me the chills: That music at the top of the attraction equals awe. Jeremy Irons has been the best narrator of them all.
Amazing audio quality! I've only ever heard crackly on-ride recordings. Thanks for this.
This is truly amazing, Thank you so much for this upload, I love to just shut off the lights and imagine myself aboard the time machine vehicle. Cheers
This version is WAY better than the new version.
I Like and Love The Old Audio, cause i was at that Ride Back when i was a little Kid. It's an nice Memory :)
This is the best narration for the ride!
Well I adore the Judi Dench version. The new soundtrack is up there with Disneys best park music! This version brings back great memories but I enjoyed the ride this time round more than I ever have before. Sometimes nostalgia can cloud our judgement.
This was the best version of spaceship earth. Jeremy Irons was the best narrator for the history of communication.
Wowww, this takes me back. I miss the old narrator!
This is our favorite version - the new version has no heart

Judi Dench: February 15, 2008-present
I miss the previous Spaceship Earth. I really don't care for the changes.
Sweet mother of master copy! :-D This is by far the best version I've heard on RUclips.
It really is at least still that I have heard
by far the best of all the versions i have ridden..there's something very futuristic...
This is the version I grew up with. Saw what it is now... seems to have lost it's soul.
Thank you SO MUCH! I needed something to cheer me up today. :)
When I rode this in December 2001, I saw in the news reports scene near the end of the ride Lenny Harris of the New York Mets breaking the all-time pinch-hit record (a scene that I saw live at Shea Stadium)
This version of the ride taught people more about history and had a better message.
This is the best version of Spaceship Earth.

I miss this version. I like Jeremy Irons voice. It just seems more fitting for history
I get chills at 1:26!
Recently went back to Epcot for the first time in 7 years and was really disappointed by the Judi Dench soundtrack. Jeremy Irons was far superior - thanks for posting this.
I agree, they need to update the future part becuase their "future" is our now but they did not need to get rid of this music!
I should keep this on my iPod and listen to this track when I ride it next.
I know what you mean, great memories of childhood.
Personally I think the Walter Cronkite version of the ride is the best version, but this one is good too. On the other hand, I don't mind Judi Dench narrating the attraction. (But I really hate that stupid Jetsons thing at the end.)
I miss the old (2nd Gen) SSE...Jeremy Irons voice was amazing. And the 2nd Gen had so much more in terms of communicating in the future
@DisneyfanBeckers Yes, I agree completely-thank you!
Wow. Well done. This is amazing.
It was up from 1999-2007. They got rid of it because public opinion thought it was garbage. Plus, Siemens, the new SSE sponsor thought it was garbage too and its removal was one of the conditions of their sponsorship.
This is my favorite one. Judi Dench version not bad. This version seems to have more passion.
Dame Judi Dench disliked this video.
"But will these seemingly infinite communications become a flood of electronic babble? Or will we use this power to usher in a new age of understanding and cooperation on this..." ummm.. most definitely the former.
BRILLIANT!!!
Oh I thought you were talking about the Jeremy Irons version of the ride itself. I didn't realize you were referring to the wand. My bad. I hated that thing too.
Actually listened again. This is the Irons version. Which was version 3
I hadn't been to WDW since 2012. Was this still playing back then? I have been twice since.. I didn't much mind Judy Dench but now I hear this one, I much prefer it. Why the change?
Does anyone know any other scores similar to this one?
These really open my imagination.
thank you
Awesome. Many thanks for sharing this !
nothing compares
Is this the Irons version or the true original with it was either Vic Perrin or Larry Dobkin
Boy do I miss this version! Can you tell me where you got this because I'd love to have it!
This was the best version of the ride! The current version is lacking the climax the Walter Cronkite provided at the top of the sphere, and the ending of the new version with the video prompters is weak.
I am certainly NOT part of this "public" that thought this version was garbage, nor do I wish to be.
Anyone know where I could get the Judi Dench version?
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Jeremy Irons has the best voice on the planet
Does anyone know what the music is that plays during the Renaissance scene (starting @ 5:35) or what an original piece for the ride?
+David Monks You're right. It was composed for the ride, but it does have some flavours from a couple pieces by Bach and Beethoven. I searched long and hard a little while back to confirm this.
Anyone find out?
From where did you get it

However, the fact that your original comment on here has a "This comment has received too many negative votes" proves that the anti-wand crowd was in the majority.
And why hasn't Morgan Freeman narrated this ride yet?
I like both the Walter Cronkite and Jeremy Irons versions. Not so big on the Judi Dench version.
does anyone remember when the spaceship earth ball had mickeys ears and hand.. why they get rid of it??? it seems soo... less disney!!!
old version? this is the 3rd version.
