I applaud you for building this part of gay culture and not watering it down. as a black person I know how it feels to watch parts of your contribution to culture be appropriated by others.
Your work is badass and inspiring. Living in the middle of nowhere, it's amazing that someone like you is putting out work that I couldn't access due to a lack of proximity to classes and communities.
Very well said! I also wanna say I find your 8 count shorts very accessible - I may not be able to execute them perfectly, but it's a very good introduction to the sort of movements you would have to get familiar with to get into vogue 💕
I’ve been practicing and building my understanding and love of Vogue for quite a few years now, and your videos helped me to truly fall in love with the art form. Your passion and love for both the style and history of Vogue are evident in everything you put forth. 💖✨
id hear you talk about anything tbh. its just cool to have a voice from ballroom speak in such an accessible medium (and in a more long form context compared to a tweet)
Ive always admired vogue as a style of dance. Like the power and aura pros of it radiate. Like i just spent an hour practicing just from your cat walk and hand performance basics videos and holy crap i just keep gaining so much more respect for people who do this. Its so much more than just flinging your arms and like its so physically taxing too.
What a delight to see that not only are you fully intentional on your 'why' and 'how' you make your content, but you also deliver an excellent representation and explanation of something that has been finding new enthusiasts even though this style of movement / dance / art, very much pre-dates Madonna's song and even before the movie "Paris Is Burning" gave it main-stream exposure. Keep up the good work!
So well spoken, such a nice voice you got dude! I appreciate you doing this, as a drag queen I often get used to teach the bare minimum. Completely agree.
say it louder sis vogue is such a dificult and chalenging dance style and people need to know that's isn't a trend and they can't walked with the very basic and after a few tutorial video (I’ve already done the expericence and I don’t recommend it like RELLY don't do that pls guys in the name of Kassandra )
Wth. Ppl rlly think that?! Every dance discipline is like @ the level of ballet in terms of required devotion 2 me. Ppl gotta humble themselves. ANY area of interest is so deep that being a beginner is probably where most ppl can reach.
I mean yeah, voguing came from a subculture within a subculture. Randos are sorely mistaken if they think its hyper-specialized nature is supposed to be easy 😂

He shouldn't be taking the place of a Black Choreographer 😊
@@MaleOrderBride if he's talented and really has an appreciation for the art does the color of his skin matter?
this is both lgbt and black/latino american culture, not just gay culture.
@@pootlovato8237 he's not black OR Latino 😅 he's a privileged white guy...
Who says that this is part of gay history ?

So when are we going to see Voguing on Dancing With the Stars???

Hehehe you replaced the “basic” phrase with the more advanced/scientific form: Diluted
Say no to basic! 😄
Madonna took care of "beginner Vogue".
Gravity Jacob, you are so cute.
