Just researched more and you sold me. I'm going to plant 10 to 20 of these come spring I think. I have a great spot above all the other homes in my hood with the largest lot but I'm very exposed plus the sound barrier would be a bonus as well. Thanks again...
Very nice! Thats the way to plant! I need to get one of those! LOL. Those grow fast and are real hardy, but you'll need to watch for bagworms and fungus to keep 'em healthy. Good luck!
Could you give us an update on how your privacy fence is growing up My hubby and I are in the process of purchasing land and we want to do privacy tree fences as well, I sure you're busy, But if you could find some time, to give us an update on how your fense is growing, that would be awesome 👌🏾 thanks
I wanted to do a video last month but it’s been crazy up here. I’ll say that we have suffered some loss with about 15 trees that didn’t make it through the first winter. For 125 planted I guess that’s not too bad. The other 110 trees are doing great and growing fast! I’d say an average of 18” new growth in the first year.
Please post an update in a couple of years. If you keep them surrounded with mulch you should be able to keep good nutrients close by. Thank you for posting.
You mention Leyland cypress having disease problems for being so popular. Any concern over mono culture for that many Green Giant trees? I think I would mix in some spruce trees in the hedge.
Yeah we use drip tape- it's easy to install hundreds & hundreds of feet if needed, very affordable, can be set on a timer, and you can even run a liquid fertilizer through it if you like!
This is a great solution, I know we have talked about potentially doing something similar if we are forced to, depending on the property we settle on. Stay Blessed!
My backyard neighbor planted those trees along the property line a couple years ago. They're just starting to fill out. However, I'm worried about the girth of the trees encroaching on my property. Great video and Happy New Year.
They were actually planted the last week of December, but our tree guy says that they should be fine. We are still seeing highs in the low 40's for the next couple of weeks and the ground isn't completely frozen yet.
Looking forward to seeing these grow and all the other progress in months/years to come. Great job!
Thank you sir!
A clear vision of you Rob planting trees Beautiful....love you for that
Wow this was great to watch
Those trees are going to look gorgeous in the snow! They'll also keep down the dust and make a nice little wind break.

Ya know we were considering some fast growing hybrid poplars for privacy, but after seeing this I may reevaluate that. Thanks for sharing! 🤙-Josh

Thanks! Ideally we’d have a property more surrounded by woods but this is the next best thing.

Awesome 👏 😀👍
thank you!
So what did y’all decide on watering?
I planted 40 of these this year.. mine were so small.. But I know where I can get 120 of these that are much bigger
How are they doing? I planted 110 in October about 12 inches tall. They haven't grown any.
I need to to get some privacy trees to plant here in Mississippi
I see that beard you’re sporting!
Haha. It’s nothing compared to yours, Viking Man.
Five feet is recommended so I think you are just fine at 4 1/2’.
I didn’t know y could plant in Jan. Are you worried about them dying

3-5 feet is normal, but grows 4 feet wide, you should be good, please post follow up.
coming from gold shaw farm
Thanks for coming over! :)
Pack those trees, who cares what RUclips commenters say
Haha! Right! Thanks for watching good Sir!
did the deer eat them?
Not that we’ve noticed
Are you planning to hedge them every yr?
When full grown, yes.
Update?
Carolina Sapphire trees grows much faster than these and is a nicer tree overall.
Never heard of them. I’ll check them out 👍
