I planted 50 of the Green Giants two year’s ago to block out the interstate noise. They are doing well and I cannot wait for them to get much taller in the next few years.
I have Camellias that are about 60 years old. They are giants, probably 20 ft tall and gorgeous! But my favorite screen trees are Tea Olives. Beautiful evergreens with fragrant white flowers in spring. Low maintenance and no pruning :)
@@billrobbins5874 They look a lot like a wax leaf Ligustrum (forgot to mention that :) but Tea Olive doesn't seem to be as invasive. I haven't found any olive volunteers after 10 yrs.
You are hilarious and very entertaining! I am learning so much about plants through your videos! You have such a great personality! Please keep making these!
You are a hoot! I live in Florida and was happy to see some of your trees will survive here ,I have a rental home as a backyard neighbor so people come and go and the last ones were a doozy so I’m going to the garden center today to see what I can find ,keep up these fun videos and great information
I had a pair of Eastern Red Cedars pop up on either side of my driveway entrance about 6 years ago. They are now 20 foot tall and 20 foot wide. I have a Cherry Laurel and it has been propagating itself like crazy and creating dense thickets that my chickens love.
A new subscriber! Thanks for sharing your enthusiasm with us. Would you consider sharing landscape design ideas with mixed screening plants? For typical suburban backyards? Thanks
Hello my friend. This is more than just a video, you put love and passion into it. Great job! Thanks for sharing this video! Always believe in yourself and keep doing what you love, good luck 👌❤🌻
My daughter thinks you are so funny 😁! Lol! Me too! Thanks for sharing the info! I am in zone 7 & just planted Emerald Green Arborvitae trees. 1st time Gardner here!
if you have the room Carolina Sapphire trees are the ticket! grow incredibly fast and are such a nice tree. they grow much faster than green Giants too. they take well to shearing/shaping.
Hello!! I love watching your channel. I laugh every time I watch you. I will be needing good screening in my front yard. I also have hollies that I am going to take out. They are so invasive and to hard for me to handle. How do I get them out??? I have 2 varigated and 2 green. If you can please tell me how to get ride of them?? Then I'll be able to come and get my new trees. Thanks so much!!
Brand new subscriber. Loving the videos I’ve seen so far! I’m looking for something in the 4’ tall range and narrow. I have a 10’ wide area that needs some low privacy without blocking the view of my 10’ tall Japanese maples.
Love all the videos you put out! I use your suggestions of plants in my landscaping company. Would love to see your ideas on which plants to use on the different garden types(Formal,Cottage,Informal).
Thank you, thank you for this video. I have been trying to find an evergreen that I like for privacy. I like the texture of the Leyland Cypress but have been continuing searching for just the right evergreen. The Golden Hinokia is it. Its really beautiful and I love the Golden color. I want to plant them across the road edge of our property interspersed with White Spirea (Bridal Wreath) and Hot Pink Weigela. What do you think? White or Hot pink? You made me laugh again today from the git go. I'm glad you are good with a bit of levity. It makes things much more fun. Love it when you crack up and keep going. The world needs all the fun it can get. Cheers my Friend.....
I planted fruit trees on the edge of my property on 3 sides. My back yard is buttes up to a state preserve. The front and 2 sides are lined with various different fruit trees all 8’ appart. The only reason it works is because I trained them all to an espalier form. So the bottoms cordon is 3’ high and when they’re full of fruit and wood they stand a good 6-8’ high and give plenty privacy
I live in mn and need a cold hardy cover wall taller the better and fast growing. Looks like cypress is a nice shape, smoke bush, choke cherry, arborvitae, hmmm
When you were talking about the Green Giant Arborvitae, there was a small Proven Winners shrub with pink flowers or foliage on it (I couldn't tell which), what was that plant? It's so cool! Love your videos!👍

What’s the best time of the year to plant these trees? Thanks for this video! It is so helpful ☺️
Fall is the absolute best time to plant! (Fall also before the ground freezes in your zone)
I have 4 Taylor Junipers can you do a video please. I have questions about pruning and care
Thank you, brother, thank you.
BOTH!!!!!!!!😊
Love my conifers!
Really enjoyed your vid, thanks! ❤
What do you recommend for the central Florida area?
I subscribed as soon as you ate the tree. Lol
How far apart should you plant the Gold Hinoki cypress ?
In wisconsin any green giant or emerald thats not fenced in is bare on the bottom 4 feet from deer. The deer love them.
