I planted 50 of the Green Giants two year’s ago to block out the interstate noise. They are doing well and I cannot wait for them to get much taller in the next few years.
I have Camellias that are about 60 years old. They are giants, probably 20 ft tall and gorgeous! But my favorite screen trees are Tea Olives. Beautiful evergreens with fragrant white flowers in spring. Low maintenance and no pruning :)
Would like to see the tea olive now!
@@billrobbins5874 They look a lot like a wax leaf Ligustrum (forgot to mention that :) but Tea Olive doesn't seem to be as invasive. I haven't found any olive volunteers after 10 yrs.
@@curiouscat3384 Sounds interesting. May try another camellia though. Such beautiful flowers and colors available.
I love your energy! I’m planting a screen fence this year, this really helped!

They are now 20 foot tall and 20 foot wide.
I have a Cherry Laurel and it has been propagating itself like crazy and creating dense thickets that my chickens love.

How tall do the camillias grow?
@@lanafrady9254 ours is about 8 feet
Love it and you. I have been looking for what type of Arborvitae to get. You helped me decide on the Emerald Green.
You crack me up, Justin! Love your videos! Keep ‘em coming! ~Cassandra Senter, Zone 9A
I hadn’t thought of camellias for a screen, but I like it. Wax myrtle makes a great privacy screen.
Hahaha, first video on this channel. This guy is funny - more laughing at himself than the actual jokes. Love it!
Thanks for watching ❤️
A new subscriber! Thanks for sharing your enthusiasm with us. Would you consider sharing landscape design ideas with mixed screening plants? For typical suburban backyards? Thanks

I never thought I laugh watching a video about trees
❤❤❤❤❤
Really funny to watch, nice work
Brand new subscriber. Loving the videos I’ve seen so far!
I’m looking for something in the 4’ tall range and narrow. I have a 10’ wide area that needs some low privacy without blocking the view of my 10’ tall Japanese maples.
:20 idk but those glowing shrubs to your right are gorgeous
Oh LAWZY!!!
OK, Susan, You need to demonstrate!! 😂
I planted fruit trees on the edge of my property on 3 sides. My back yard is buttes up to a state preserve. The front and 2 sides are lined with various different fruit trees all 8’ appart. The only reason it works is because I trained them all to an espalier form. So the bottoms cordon is 3’ high and when they’re full of fruit and wood they stand a good 6-8’ high and give plenty privacy
Bro I liked this video on your energy alone
Shared liked and appreciate this solved my problem.
Thank you for letting me know! Appreciate you watching 🙏
Great video! Can you make any suggestions for privacy trees and hedges for the Phoenix Arizona area? Especially since we have smaller yards. Thank you
One you didn't mention that is an amazingly fast grower is the Murray Cypress, a close cousin to the Leyland, but a lot more disease resistant. We planted a row of them when they were between 12-18 inches tall, and they are now, without exaggeration, about 30 feet tall only after eight years of being planted. A beautiful conical evergreen that the birds love as well for sitting in.
Beautiful ❤️
Thank you!
Calling y’all this week to order.
Thanks man!
Sometimes I watch these just to improve my mood!😂
LOVE your accent, so cute!!
❤❤❤❤❤
When you were talking about the Green Giant Arborvitae, there was a small Proven Winners shrub with pink flowers or foliage on it (I couldn't tell which), what was that plant? It's so cool! Love your videos!👍
Hello!! I love watching your channel. I laugh every time I watch you. I will be needing good screening in my front yard. I also have hollies that I am going to take out. They are so invasive and to hard for me to handle. How do I get them out??? I have 2 varigated and 2 green. If you can please tell me how to get ride of them?? Then I'll be able to come and get my new trees. Thanks so much!!
if you have the room Carolina Sapphire trees are the ticket! grow incredibly fast and are such a nice tree. they grow much faster than green Giants too. they take well to shearing/shaping.
I agree! They could have been on the list for sure!
Carolina Sapphire don’t have the same longevity. Beautiful, I agree.
I would like to see privacy bushes/trees for a small area… love your videos and I live in PA
Skip laurels are super popular as well, at least in central jersey
😂😂😂 I'm going to subscribe
Thank you, thank you for this video. I have been trying to find an evergreen that I like for privacy. I like the texture of the Leyland Cypress but have been continuing searching for just the right evergreen. The Golden Hinokia is it. Its really beautiful and I love the Golden color. I want to plant them across the road edge of our property interspersed with White Spirea (Bridal Wreath) and Hot Pink Weigela. What do you think? White or Hot pink? You made me laugh again today from the git go. I'm glad you are good with a bit of levity. It makes things much more fun. Love it when you crack up and keep going. The world needs all the fun it can get. Cheers my Friend.....
😮😮
I subscribed as soon as you ate the tree. Lol
Photinia, wax leaf privet, English laurel, Carolina laurel, etc.
Thanks. Great video! What about laurels
the hungry deer bit haha
Thanks! Now I need $10g for a tree fence 😂
Thanks so much
Yes more privacy fast growing trees or shrubs videos. I would like to get something up to stop kids from jumping my fence. My fence backs up to a park.
I've not watched the video all the way through but a good idea to mention that while it's good to enjoy privacy in your garden, burglars like it as well as it hides them from prying eyes who may see them trying to break in allowing them to take their time. Here in the UK we had an advertising campaign on this a few years ago reminding people on how dangerous this can be.
😂
Luvvv this dude--- makes me 🤣
Thank you so much!!
Trying to figure out what to use for privacy but won't piss the neighbours off too much (by blocking their sun, or shedding flowers or leaves unto their property).
The Emerald Green Arborvitae seems to be the perfect choice!
Can any of these be left in pots for years so they can be moved around if necessary?
Also, another video suggested bamboo trees as privacy (which can be left in containers). Would you suggest this for Ontario climate? Sorry, I don't know the zone we're in.
Thanks again!!
More, please.
I live in mn and need a cold hardy cover wall taller the better and fast growing. Looks like cypress is a nice shape, smoke bush, choke cherry, arborvitae, hmmm
How about a video featuring trees (zone 5 tolerant) that would work as privacy in a SMALL backyard setting! (A small backyard that has neighbors (LOVELY neighbors😍) who has an above ground deck and pool smack up beside my fence so that when standing on their deck, my family feels like fish in a fish bowl!😢 I need some options on trees that have an umbrella top & leggy bottom that won’t take up space in my small backyard! Please HELP!!!
(I Love your videos! You make me laugh and you come across as SUCH a nice person!)
I know the feeling and it’s a bad one, and these hillbillies have attacked me on my own property before. I can’t get out of their sight in my yard or field.
How far apart should you plant the Gold Hinoki cypress ?
Sub'ed for the deer impersonation. LOL
What are your thoughts on lilacs for a privacy screen? We had them in MA, but how far south with they grow? They are my favorite!
