    My property is very rocky and with hard soil. My number one gardening tool is a pick-axe: it makes digging holes like yours much easier.

    Great video! Quick question. I would like to plant brandon cedar along my neighbours tall retaining wall. However, he said that he was planning to rebuild his retaining wall in a couple of years. Im afraid my trees would be destroyed during the construction. How hard is it to dig them out to relocate them after they already were established? Transplanting them i mean. Thanks

    • @DIYDudes
      @DIYDudes  3 месяца назад +1

      Chances are your neighbour will never replace their retaining wall. But if they do the trees can be removed and replanted. Just make sure you save a lot of the root ball and water them a ton during the replanting process
      Good luck!

      Do some research on different cedars some are thinner. The emerald green that I used can be trimmed nicely

    Awesome video! I have a question for you. Ive planted about 8 of these and half of them are very healthy but the other half as looking like they are started to lose color. I cant tell if its from sun or overwatering or underwatering. All of them are getting watered every 2 to 3 days. The more lively ones get full sun all day and the less healthy ones are behind a fence so they only get sun from the mid--point up. Also, those 4 are in slightly damper soil. Please help!!

    • @DIYDudes
      @DIYDudes  10 месяцев назад +1

      Hey sorry but sounds like the ones that are not doing so well are not getting enough sun…. These Cedars can be touchey when you first plant them. I would check with an experienced garden Center and get a suggestion on fertilizer to help give them a boost. Good luck

    Some of my leafs are going brown they were planted two months ago and we have been watering them since. The weather has been pretty hot lately so we are trying to water more. We buried them like you mentioned but I noticed that someone had stuffed extra ground (mud) up against the trunks of the trees about a week ago when doing some landscaping so I pulled that mud away from the trunks and the mulch too. Left a 6 inch perimeter around the tree. Would this of caused it?

    • @DIYDudes
      @DIYDudes  2 года назад +3

      Yeah you don’t want to cover the top of the root ball or the base of the trunk.
      Keep watering consistently and the will likely come back
