Since you're taking up AB English, you should also spend time learning english other ways like shadowing or listening to podcasts, etc. don't just rely on textbooks, find other ways you can get better.. you guys are extremely lucky you have the resources you have now.. When I was studying, we didn't have internet and smartphones..
I find it interesting and cool to see foreign students documenting their lives while attending schools or universities here in the Philippines. It shows a whole different perspective. Wishing you well on your studies, Hana. Life here in the Philippines can be quite tough, even for someone who is not a Filipino citizen. I’m sure more opportunities will open up for you. Just believe in yourself.
I think Philippine school system is a lot less stressful and exhausting than in korea. Because after school is over, you go straight home or gimmick muna with barkada. In korea you need to go to tutoring or special classes until midnight or later. Both of them has advantages and disadvantages.
Philippine school system is better because it has less stress and pressure to students, Japan and Korea have high suicide rates especially to young people because of having high pressure in such a very young age which carries through adulthood.

Tip when studying sa UM. always go to school na prepared kasi yung mga teachers diyan hindi nagsasabi kung may pa oral or quiz. Though sa EXAM expect mo na talaga na every 2weeks may exam. kasi isang subject mo diyan 2months and half mo lang aaralin kasi by term diyan. ;) So Goodluck Hana! See you when I see you.

Oh, I just found out that you are taking up AB English. As a fellow AB English student, my tips for you would be... you should read more about American Literature, Afro-Asian Lit., and Philippine Lit.. Listen to the news that are using English as a medium of communication, such as, CNN Philippines which you can grasp an idea to speak fluently and also try to listen to the podcasts and watch American series in Netflix (you can turn off the subtitles to test yourself if you can understand what they are saying and how to pronounce each word by listening, of course), since we are using a Standard American English. Eventually, you will be able to study the other languages not only in the Philippines, but also the foreign languages (If I still can remember, we did study all about it during our 3rd year in the program). There are other things you will encounter such as Linguistics (from the first day until the last day you study in the program) and literary criticism (which you guys will encounter during 4th year in AB English program).

Sa totoo lang hate ko din yan pero in hindsight, actually it would make your student life easier kasi pag mid-term or final exam na, hindi na masyado ang pag aaralan mo kasi you've already studied some of them and it would be just a refresher. Dami mo nang alam na language, to add to that, do you know that some of Bisaya words also have similar meaning in the Indonesian language? basically like the Spanish language where words have some similarities to the tagalog.
