I don't think "the real enemy" is at Swordmarch. Vandham pointed the team to Swordmarch and called it "our city", which would imply whoever inhabits that area would be allies, not enemies. Unless it used to be occupied by allies, but got taken over. But the Lost Numbers referred to in another part of the trailer are probably the faction that opposes the cycle, so it's more likely that their base is in Swordmarch.
from what I can understand, Burst is the new fourth step of the "Keves Driver Combo". Agnus side has the now known "Break - Topple - Launch - Smash" but the Keves side has "Break - Topple - Daze - Burst"
One thing I wanna note that I dont think anyone has noticed (or maybe they have and its just not as relevant as all the other details) but it seems smash no longer causes enemies to drop their loot but instead burst does. So I assume now smash is used for its insane burst damage and burst is used for looting. Not to mention that burst also sends enemies flying in the same way launch does and if it does actually work like launch and allows us to use smash afterwards. We'll have for the first time in the series a 5 step driver combo.
Also you practically need a guide to catch everybody as well since they only exist at certain times Edit: it’s not a bad system. It just needs to be more optimized.
I would be fine with it if you could literally just sort them in alphabetical order, or if they kept a specific order regardless of when you talk to them. Finding which ones you missed via a guide is a nightmare.
I think it was a pretty satisfying system , yeah all the mmo style ‘monster quest 3-part 2’ shit was a bit rediculous but those didn’t actually contribute to the chart as they weren’t from named npcs, nor were they ever prerequisites to real quests, a lot of which I actually found quite interesting as they created a beievable world and community of people to inhabit it as well as expanding on some world stuff, such as what happened to the ancient giants. Of course that’s nothing compared to X which obviously had the best quests in the whole series, but that game also did a much better job with the chart because of how much better it’s quests are
My current theory is that all the soldiers on Aionios are clones of Originals that exist somewhere, and the clones are created to fight eachother and provide energy to the originals so that they can live forever (infinity symbol / dark Noah in the theater). The ending of the game will be the clones striking down the originals / Clone Noah striking down Original / dark Noah. (Original Noah is more what I mean, I'm just saying Dark Noah in terms of appearance)
Fight the "dark selves" and permanently buff the stats? Like say lanz has 10 or 15% strength mod for his weapon class and defeating his dark half boosts it to 30% or something like that.
@@MathmaticalB1ach I did just finish Nier Replicant for the first time funnily enough, but it made me get the same vibe here. Could even be an inspiration.
Considering the first reveal trailer had what looked like the union of he worlds while Noah was still a child, despite Aionios seemingly having its societal order the way it is for way longer than 10-20 years, the flashback Noah and the offseer Noah are potentially not one and the same...
In the Class change menu they made a distinction between "Master Arts" and "Master Skills" so I think that each character will also get passive skills from the class at certain levels
Also, Cena has an american accent because she is a blade. All blades have American accents, all flesheaters/humans have the usual British accent. Pyra/mythras voice actress revealed this was her voice direction in an interview btw.
Actually flesh eaters have American accents like any other type of blade, Nia has her Gormotti accent because she was trying to hide the fact she’s a flesh eater in XC2 which makes me very curious as to what’s going on with Mio having a flesh eater core that looks exactly like Nia’s and still retains a Gormotti accent (she’s totally a clone of Nia id put money on it)
@@ZegZegZegZeg Actually in the flashbacks before she ever became a flesh eater Nia always had her Gormotti accent, making her the only blade who wasn’t american sounding
while I can understand everyone wants to see Pyra and Mythra there is something I want to know. WHERE is my favourite, nopon speaking, max damage Artificial Blade. I will NOT rest until I've seen the Ultimate Quantum Techno Champion return for Xenoblade 3
Lanz's shield art uses the sword to fire at the enemy. It is called Variable Turret. The damage dealing nature of the art is not noted by the descriptor beneath its name, meaning some arts may have effects beyond what is stated in the combat footage. Noah uses the master art Mighty Beat to smash the enemy. This gives him a pair of gauntlets, obviously from the class that provides it. Since the animation is reminiscent of Vandham's punch to the ground and there is a blurred hero class at the front of the list, Vandham might be one of the heroes joining the party, even if it ends up being temporarily. All the information shown avoids mention of Vandham's fate after the initial encounter, so the blurring would be in line with concealing his fate. Additionally the art comes with an aggro damage up, implying that the class it comes from is of the defender role.
16:58 we see topple>daze>burst as a new "driver combo". Story wise it seems like nia and melia might have sent the main 6 to get the ouroboros power and fight back against the consul that is giving nia/melia orders that they presumably can't fight back against directly. The conflict between the two nations seems like it is staged solely to farm ether through the tattoos and collect it in the flame clocks. I'm guessing the clocks do something to fend off some form of cataclysm, the "fate" that the enemy group seems to be fighting against.
Dude your content is great. Thank you so very much for all of your Xenoblade-chronicles-3-switch analysis. You are probably THE BEST source for ALL things Xenoblade. Thank you so much once again!!! I'm so hyped for this new release!!! Let's goooo!!!
Based on what we've seen, I'm getting the feeling that your guides are going to be themed around classes rather than the party members themselves, kinda like how you handled Blades for Xenoblade 2. That means that aside from Xenoblade 1, every Xenoblade game's combat system distinguishes class/weapon types more than the actual characters. I'm predicting now that the guides will be structured as "best character for each class" rather than "best class for each character."
I probably won't be able to pick this game up day 1 (money issues) but damn there's so much stuff to do in it, it's reaching X's levels of complexity lol. Really wanna know what kind of crazy set ups you come up with. whoever completes this game 100% will probably need to see a medic at the end of it lol.
Theory that came to me while cooking dinner: Have the villains gotten their hands on one of the other Ark Ships from X? One of the villains state they can always grow plenty more, there's what looks like children suspended in row after row of Zohar-shaped chambers, and the Ark Ships can grow living beings from scratch. You can see the row after row at around 166 seconds. Hatch them at 10, their term comes to an end at 20.
Maybe it's the origins of Elma. If you pay attention to her wording and how she acts in both X and 2, she doesn't seem to be human or see herself as such; the party is starting to show blade esque traits outside of mio and sena. The soldier disintegrate like the bosses in 2. It's possible they figured out to artificially create blades since titans don't seem to be reproducing anymore.
The hero characters are basically rare blades without the gacha mechanic, we might get a comparable amount of characters with their own quests as in 2 though since they won't all be blades their designs might be a bit more grounded. No more waifus made of book pages or having having a pair of disembodied blazing arms with each being as thick as her own body.
One speculation i have is that since we have a % number of upgrades done for the Ouroboros forms, might mean that when we hit 100%, we get an enhanced 3rd form maybe? Or we might get get a final massive attack where, instead of just splitting up by the the end, they do a massive finisher and THEN split
50:36 I just noticed that there are at least 6 classes covered up by the arts & skills popup on the right side of the screen , which makes the known number of available classes to 23 , and at least 25 with the DLC
damage could be over all lower just because we will be going in with 7 characters in battles as opposed to the 3 of xeno 1&2. that's my guess anyways, I mean they could raise the enemy hp for the same effect but we won't know til the game is in our hands, mostly speedrunners like you, I'm sure yall will find the ins and outs quicker than the rest of us.
Idea and thoughts: The theater reminds me of how, in Xenogears, the Gazel Ministry and Emperor Cain would display scenes from the game like a slideshow of screenshots. The Gazel Ministry were essentially the main enemies of Perfect Works ep 2 and 4, the one on the run and the incomplete rebellion. Which potentially ties into something that Vandham says, since, for the first time, we hear the line after the "land pierced by a great sword" line: "Our city". On top of the fact that shortened lifespans were actually a part of Perfect Works 3, (genetic dead-end, rather than child soldier clones) being the reason why Emeralda was created: a way to leave a lasting legacy, the same motivation for Mio to start keeping a diary. As a result seems likely that the city in Swordmarch is some sort of equivalent to Shevat. (Which, as a side note, would be... quite interesting if it was stationed in what used to be Alcamoth, but as of right now that's a practically baseless assumption) Considering everyone has access to the eye-based HUD, and it's the same color as the flames that summon the Blades, and those same flame-like things change their clothes, that would lend credence to the idea that they summon their Blades from the collective unconscious, since the changing of jackets is essentially taking the appearance of the character associated in their minds with that specific weapon. When Vandham presses the switch that causes the ouroboros transformation, he himself seems to be transported in a similar way, so it's possible that they got sent into the collective unconscious domain, rather than just having access to summon things from it, and it was just from being in close proximity that selected the interlink pairs (and why only they can interlink (at least for now)). The Gazel Ministry/Testaments and their leader (who gave me Wilhelm (and by extension Miang) vibes, so there might not be an exact Emperor Cain, but that's just based off a gut feeling) talk in the metaphor of a dam breaking, and not being able to hold things back. Obligatory flood symbolism because Noah. But that makes me wonder which side the leader is talking about (which side can't turn back the tides), whether the Gazel Ministry/Testaments being unable to stop the flood of a new change to the world, or the main characters. (the one that looks like Noah seems more blatant in talking about the main characters, something I'll get to in my next thought) The ages that previous notes have made about characters' ages might actually have been attempting to cover up the technical spoiler of "ten years to live", giving those ages as approximate physiological ages rather than literal ages. Since we see the test tubes as what is producing/growing the soldiers, it is likely that specially-selected individuals are "grown more", given more time to cook, to create leaders and examples for the regular soldiers to follow, such as Ethel and Cammuravi, so they seem to us to live longer, without actually living longer. Yet, in the trailer, there is something we hear Sena (I think) saying about giving up her Terms for Mio, so the logical conclusion would be that that is done for particularly exemplar soldiers, allowing them to live as long as Ethel and Cammuravi, but I would actually disagree with that, since Sena seems to be in the collective unconscious domain when saying this, so this might actually be something that they have only gained access to with the ouroboros. Now that's a tragedy waiting to happen. Edit: another thought, one regarding Future Connected. What if the Off-seers purpose of the constant death and rebirth is to keep the ether concentration in the atmosphere high? What if that's the entire point of the flame clocks and everything: so that the Off-seers send the ether particles into the atmosphere, preventing further catastrophe, by preventing further rifts like the Fog King's? That could fit with the greater Perfect Works concept where the world's systems (like Zarathustra in Saga) are designed, with a consequence of eternal recursion, to keep the universe, the world, existent, held back from collapse, like a dam holds back water.
The things I found interesting that you didn't mention. -The flame clock being fueled by the dead is likely just fuel for the weapons and not related to lifespans. -The bad guys in an isolated area watching the protagonists beat one of them makes me think of power rangers. -Lanz's weapon is also a machine gun, he sticks it in the ground, does something with the handle, and starts firing lasers in some scenes. -Eunie had two fans as weapons in one of the gameplay scenes, probably from a hero we haven't seen yet. (you don't think it would be Mikhail would you) -The Oroboros forms with the Keves people leading are darker colored, and the ones with Agnus are brightly colored. -Character swapping uses a second pallet on the left side, it is probably used by holding a button and could be a tactics menu as well. -Assuming that some of the heroes shown here come from side quests, that means that some quests also have cool cut-scenes. -I am guessing the food items are probably only going to effect rewards from combat and maybe things outside of combat, which I personally prefer to the pouch items in XC2.
Party member swapping was shown UI-wise on japanese screenshots. You basically hold the tactics button and then use L/R or something like that to rotate through the 6 party members (the rotation seems to be fix).
Don't you remember that Blades don't have english accents? Was like that in 2 and even confirmed in an interview. So can we assume Taion is not a Blade?
Enel, I don't know if you noticed cause I just got to the point where you were hyped about the dual gun character, but not only is it a dual gun character, but his class is called Full Metal Jaguar as well
I think the "why are they older than 10 years old" reason is this: Basically they are engineered and put in the tube thingies we see until they are about 8 years old. Then they go through military training and fight as soon as possible. I assume that getting them out of their pods has to be done/linked with the flame clock and the 10 years limit. That would explain how some characters older than 18 because they could have gotten out of their pods later for whatever reason (medical maybe?). And whenever they die their ether is returned to the flame clock allowing them to engineer new children and continue the cycle over and over. And presumably that's the only way they think they can survive, they can't survive without the flame clock and to keep the flame clock "turning" they need ether and kill the opposite faction and harvest their resources hence the perpetual war. Now that doesn't explain how Melia or Nia are alive and seem to be exempt of this but I think this could all make sense somehow ? And Vandham would be part of a rogue group (similar to the machinas from 1) that try to topple the system and break the flame clock.
I don't think the flame clock is something they actually need, but is part of some greater ploy by the actual enemy. This sort of thing has been seen before with Amalthus "cleansing" core crystals, in which he is really stealing their ability to become titans, and taking pieces of their dna for himself.
I'm so in love with the customization in this game it's gonna end up being my favorite Xenoblade and the first one I beat 100% in stead of story and some side things
In the class change menu, you can see that there are more classes hidden behind the class info page. Which means, at that point in the game, there's possibly 23 classes to choose from.
Something I swear I saw at some point is that the Keves blade combo has a fourth stage, too; pretty sure its called "Burst" and it has the same slowdown that smash did. EDIT: It's at 47:39. It doesn't show Daze tho so I'm only guessing its after that
18:20 For me I wanted green hair girl so bad (Juniper I think is her name) so I'm beyond happy because of that. I'm also loving the class changes, that's like the mechanic you can put in a game to quickly get into my heart lol (bonus points for costume change). So far from what they showed I'm even more hyped like holy hell that was so good
Personal very silly theory: Riku's Super Deep Voice is all an act to try and impress Manana (because he likes her) and whenever she's not around or he's caught off guard he'll have a more "normal" traditional nopon voice, giving him this hilarious contrast of being "brave" in some scenes while secretly muttering to himself in his more "scared" nopon voice. Certainly wouldn't be the first time we've seen something like this from a Nopon Character and would give an actual reason why his voice sounds that way.
I could see the DLC being a prequel to the main story similar to Torna, where you get to see the world's combining and the first reactions to it. They could do something where the parties of 1 and 2 worked together to take out the villains only to be wiped out then they took control of Melia and Nia to rule the nations separately. It would be interesting if they showed the nation's planning to go full military at the end in the same way that the Torna credits showed how Amalthus began his reign. The dramatic irony would be similar to Torna in the player knows what the end result is while learning how it happened.
Actully this game have every thing I want. Story ! Cool ! Character ! Eunie and Taion are enought for me but there is more so YES!!!!! Ost that make me cry or give me energy. OFF COURSE THERE IS ! Exploring world YEAH sure. Gameplay ! We have a Xenoblade 2 style combine with one. It's will nice to play. Meme, I have faith in the Xenoblade community for making some of. Having fun ? I start fan fic since the first trailer... However I think it's a bit useless to give two ouroboros transformation for the pair. I think it's better for the game thematic that it's a unperfect fusion.
I was always optimistic about this game, however I always felt not enough time had passed since XC2 and I expected some stuff to be rushed or the game to have less content than 2, but seeing how many things there are...whew. Completely blew my mind. This game is shaping up to be my favourite Xenoblade.
@@nickhoude21 there are games that have been in development for much longer and came out an unfinished mess, for me usually 6 years is a safe time between games.
XC2 was the rushed one. X came out only a couple years before 2, and they had half of their team helping BotW for a year before its launch. So this is the first time they've been able to have full developer support since X. X was unfinished too, but they really struggled with its open world on the WiiU
Yes, if they don't get scene off by the Queen or are killed in combat, then once their term expires they die, Noah does say few complete the duty of filling their flame clock
Rewatching this trailer again and again, I’m getting a feeling of a XC1 type plot with these new villain group and it probably has combat similar to XC2 and maybe an over world and movement of XCX which is super interesting with the idea of worlds combining and having similar feels to all three Xenoblade Chronicles games
Over 3 months(at minimum) because one of the MC's talks about giving Mio some of their time, and she rejects it. so want to see how Ethel, the Aegis wielder and the Monado wielder play, also immediate Expansion Pass access definitely explains why they could advance the Release date
I'm having trouble imagining how the character switching stuff will work, since it seems like characters would usually have most of their Arts on cooldown (since the alternative implies that they just sit on them without using them). Hopefully they fixed the same AI that results in things like Nia standing in poison or falling off of the World Tree.
Actually, after learning more about the combat system, the character switching seems to make more sense. I think one big game-changer is the whole thing with heals/buffs being the AoE circles on the ground (or around characters). So when you want to heal someone, it's not a matter of "switching to the healer and casting a heal art," but is instead "switch to the character who needs healing and move them into the healing AoE." So even if a character has no Arts up, you still might want to switch to them for positioning reasons.
Xenoblade combat was always my favourite part of the games so it's exciting to see how much depth there is at first glance. Hope they haven't bitten off more they can chew and don't bungle the balance too much - broken endgame builds is A-OK but I hope the casual story playthrough feels good.
10 years to serve im guessing is all they have if their raised as soldiers im assuming. Because theres bo way everyone on aionios is a freaking soldier because we see shop vendors and old people and stuff. This also means that Noah was 8 when he came out of his messed up training camp 😐

(Original Noah is more what I mean, I'm just saying Dark Noah in terms of appearance)
woah 🤯
That's Nier i think

I'm really liking the amount of customization. Looks like you can do whatever you want.
I think the reason we see older characters is because they are a higher rank in the military so they get longer lifespans
Or they just have random ages.
based on those pods we saw, characters may be taken out at all different ages + then allowed consciousness for 10 years

while I can understand everyone wants to see Pyra and Mythra there is something I want to know.
So much love for Xenoblade X was felt in this. So many good features from that game are in XC3 and im here for it
16:58 we see topple>daze>burst as a new "driver combo".
Im so happy I found your channel, your videos are so informative and incredibly easy to follow, cant wait to have my x3 journey along with yours

29:20 Alright place your bets on who the censored hero in the top left is !
I also wouldn't be surprised if said class guides will also talk about the Hero character it is tied to if applicable.
@Alejandro Rodriguez I'm in the same boat.:(
Theory that came to me while cooking dinner: Have the villains gotten their hands on one of the other Ark Ships from X?
Oh hell no that’s terrifying
@@ShadowSkyX x shows without a doubt that Elma isn't human, she has a true form and everything
Everyone got the same reaction to the affinity chart part XD im already dreading the hours im gonna spend trying to get everyone in
The hero characters are basically rare blades without the gacha mechanic, we might get a comparable amount of characters with their own quests as in 2 though since they won't all be blades their designs might be a bit more grounded.
Can't wait to see Enel eviscerate the game in the Character/Class guides.
I find it funny that so many people thought this but then they straight up removed the damage cap do you can hit harder than you ever could in 2
Idea and thoughts:
The theater reminds me of how, in Xenogears, the Gazel Ministry and Emperor Cain would display scenes from the game like a slideshow of screenshots.
(Which, as a side note, would be... quite interesting if it was stationed in what used to be Alcamoth, but as of right now that's a practically baseless assumption)
Considering everyone has access to the eye-based HUD, and it's the same color as the flames that summon the Blades, and those same flame-like things change their clothes, that would lend credence to the idea that they summon their Blades from the collective unconscious, since the changing of jackets is essentially taking the appearance of the character associated in their minds with that specific weapon.
(the one that looks like Noah seems more blatant in talking about the main characters, something I'll get to in my next thought)
The ages that previous notes have made about characters' ages might actually have been attempting to cover up the technical spoiler of "ten years to live", giving those ages as approximate physiological ages rather than literal ages.
Riku sounds awesome, for some strange reason it just seems right. Finally a Nopon newcomers might take seriously!
(you don't think it would be Mikhail would you)
-The Oroboros forms with the Keves people leading are darker colored, and the ones with Agnus are brightly colored.
I feel like the fan weapons are from the Indoline healer we get a couple glimpses of

Enel, I don't know if you noticed cause I just got to the point where you were hyped about the dual gun character, but not only is it a dual gun character, but his class is called Full Metal Jaguar as well
at 21:00 that Lanz and Sena Ouroboros attack did break topple AND launch in ONE attack
I think the "why are they older than 10 years old" reason is this:
Basically they are engineered and put in the tube thingies we see until they are about 8 years old.
Melia and Nia can live for like 1000 years.
I don't think the flame clock is something they actually need, but is part of some greater ploy by the actual enemy. This sort of thing has been seen before with Amalthus "cleansing" core crystals, in which he is really stealing their ability to become titans, and taking pieces of their dna for himself.
YEEEEEES!!! So many ways to make broken builds! LET'S GOOOOOOO
I'll be waiting for your new guides to become a superboss hunter :)

Why is nobody talking about the fact that Gray's class is literally named full metal jaguar?

I could see the DLC being a prequel to the main story similar to Torna, where you get to see the world's combining and the first reactions to it. They could do something where the parties of 1 and 2 worked together to take out the villains only to be wiped out then they took control of Melia and Nia to rule the nations separately. It would be interesting if they showed the nation's planning to go full military at the end in the same way that the Torna credits showed how Amalthus began his reign. The dramatic irony would be similar to Torna in the player knows what the end result is while learning how it happened.

So when you want to heal someone, it's not a matter of "switching to the healer and casting a heal art," but is instead "switch to the character who needs healing and move them into the healing AoE." So even if a character has no Arts up, you still might want to switch to them for positioning reasons.
time without mentioning xenosaga/xenogears: 1 minute.
I used to be upset about it now i just turn it into a meme more than anything.
Xenoblade combat was always my favourite part of the games so it's exciting to see how much depth there is at first glance. Hope they haven't bitten off more they can chew and don't bungle the balance too much - broken endgame builds is A-OK but I hope the casual story playthrough feels good.
I will buy the dlc directly on game launch if possible
