This is IMHO only partially justified. Because yes those characters are fictional, but people play games for those characters, they want to have virtual experience with them, they want to immerse into game and live their story with them. That is what gaming is usually for, if you are not after just big numbers and being the best in said game. So yes I get where you are coming from with butthurts and I certainly can agree that a lot of people are overdoing it into oblivion. On the other hand, I do not think that "living for your character" can be convicted like that into lack of mental maturity. I am 31, I would say that I am mentally mature (little oversensitive, but still mature). I also have inner child, but I can control wether it does or does not manifest. And I still very much enjoy the adventure with Noelle when I play as her and would defend her if I see injustice is being done to her. Different opinion is not injustice though, different opinion is different opinion. I still commented on that matter though. Why? Because I certainly can see the cause of Noelle feeling boring for people and I do not think she deserves such sticker on her face, Hoyo should really pull up her game a little bit :D Plus I do not agree with opinion that wholesome and hard working people are boring (which essentially comes out of girl's opinion implicitely), that is why I marked it as mean. All that though is my expression of disagreement on opinion. In form of agreeing to disagree :3 Maybe people who seem to be disrespectful wanted to express their disagreement too. I do not understand their violent way of expressing things, but at the same time I cannot blame them for expressing disagreement, they just do not agree.
