Truly the greatest example of what an owner should be. Not only does he take care of the staff and players that he used to be over, but also their families. This man is a class act who has been attentive, kind, caring, loving and generous to his overall family. He made his mistakes, but his caring ways are something that should be emulated by other NFL employees, including owners and players alike.
The greatest owner to ever own an NFL franchise, he and Bill Walsh built a dynasty, and ITS ABOUT DAMN TIME he was inducted into the HOF...NOW INDUCT ROGER CRAIG GODDAMNIT!!!
Harris Barton Jesse sapulu Guy McIntire Steve wallace Bubba Parrish. Great 49ers. 1 hell of a line too. Roger Craig tho fellas. Will probably nvr get in. By virtue of fumbling away that historic 3 peat. You guys have about as much hope as I do of Eddie coming bk to retake the ownership reigns
A great night to be a Niner Faithful! It's been a long time coming for Eddie D. Thank you for all you have done. You treat the players like the family. We don't see that with any other nowadays. GO NINERS! EDDIE! EDDIE! EDDIE!
What an amazing speech, it's about time that he was inducted into the Hall of Fame. Probably the most passionate owner that I've seen in all of sports.
I love this man and I don't say that about men but in this but for Eddie DeBartolo I mean it as much as anyone can mean anything thank you for the gift of those years it was Camelot years of football
incredible. This man KNOWS how to take care of his players and former players on and off the field. Respect and honor these athletes who suffer after the game.....that we love so much. make sure they are taken care of....
Those were really days when Jim Brown played for the Browns and Youngstown was a booming steel city. All things must change and I watched this small town of Youngstown Ohio go from a steel producing area and through rough times and back again to a great place to live . If we could only have better weather here like Columbus who knows what this area might be one day.
I remember when I was a kid and I bought the 1995 49ers Yearbook. The thing I noticed about that yearbook was that every member of the 49ers seemed like they were valued as a team member. The yearbook not only had pictures of the star football players like Jerry Rice and Steve Young but it also had pictures of the guy who was the groundskeeper. That made a positive impression on me as a kid and I can see why everyone speaks to so highly of Eddie Jr. As a kid growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area, I really admired him. People will remember you by how you treated others not by your accomplishments when it is all said and done.
Their are good people and their are classy people that did it right and didn't have to rob someone to do it,, Eddie Jr. ,,, you the man. How in the world you and your staff saw the future with all that amazing talent and good people is amazing.
This guy was a wonderful owner. His involvement with the Edwin Edwards scandal was merely a mistake. It shouldn't define his entire career. If Jack Kent Cooke and Marge Schott got to keep their teams, then DeBartolo should too!
He was suspended for a year, and he willingly chose to turn the team over to his sister, who still owns the team to this day. He became successful with the family business.
I’d like to think Jed York was inspired by this speech to hire Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch. Those two have epitomized the family theme since Day One. Now the Niners are back among the elite.
14:50. Just curious, I recognize Ronnie Lott, Jerry Rice, Dan Marino and of course Joe Montana, but who's that sitting in the foreground wearing a HOF jacket with a flower in the lapel?
The best part of this was Paul Taglibue watching the guy he banned from the league because he wanted to create mediocrity in the league that his buddy Roger has accomplished. Not greatness. Promoting hype and telling you what qb is the greatest ever. The new WWE. Eddie D treated his people like family. And he spent money because it didn't matter it was only money. He took care of his people. I am proud to be a Niner Fan FAITHFUL for over 45 years because Eddie D cared and believed in Family. He was not without flaws but overall he cared and made many lives better.
Nothing against this man or other owners but it is ridiculous owners can be inducted but coordinators can not. So many have changed the game as much as players and head coaches.
He isn't really a bad President my friend. Life is a strange beast, it isn't simply black and white and sometimes a specific common sense based on facts and good will will allow you to pardon. You got a good President, imagine that once you may fight the governments unfair tax system but you get prosecuted for it. The system couldn't care less that you are a good person deep in you heart just trying to make a living for yourself and your family. So I hope when such a thing would happen to you there will be a "bad person" that will see the good in you and pardon you as well.
RockME AllDeus .. Any person who admires or associates themselves with Pelosi or any liberal progressive tells me all i need to know about that person regardless.
That man deserved to be in the Hall of Fame a long time ago

I agree!!! Roger Craig should be in the Hall!!!
Roger 100%!
Rodger Craig plus we had many great O lineman with super bowl wins and how does Boselli get in
Harris Barton Jesse sapulu Guy McIntire Steve wallace Bubba Parrish. Great 49ers. 1 hell of a line too. Roger Craig tho fellas. Will probably nvr get in. By virtue of fumbling away that historic 3 peat. You guys have about as much hope as I do of Eddie coming bk to retake the ownership reigns

Eddie D and Dr. Jerry Buss are the greatest pro American sport owners of all time.
I said the same thing you are on the money
For some reason I thought Dr Buss had the same issues with palace intrigue and office politics that his kids did. Maybe I’m wrong
By one of if not The Greatest Owner in Sports History!!!!
incredible. This man KNOWS how to take care of his players and former players on and off the field. Respect and honor these athletes who suffer after the game.....that we love so much. make sure they are taken care of....

way overdue..Mr.D is a man
That Bill Walsh letter would've choked me up! Details
The team then is the mirror image of the team now. Motto is Family. I am feeling like it was the 80s and 90s
Greatest NFL owner ever
Their are good people and their are classy people that did it right and didn't have to rob someone to do it,, Eddie Jr. ,,, you the man. How in the world you and your staff saw the future with all that amazing talent and good people is amazing.
One of the greatest owners of a sports franchise ever.
Every word he said was true, he treated all his players like family.
Well deserved honor 🎖
Thank you Eddie
Good job Eddie! Your hometown loves you bro!
What a powerful speech!
This guy was a wonderful owner. His involvement with the Edwin Edwards scandal was merely a mistake. It shouldn't define his entire career. If Jack Kent Cooke and Marge Schott got to keep their teams, then DeBartolo should too!

He and Roman Abramovich of Chelsea, the best sport club owners ever...
Salute, Eddie D!
Kraft is best friends with Goodell, so everything is OK. As long as Goodell is in; the pats will win. Very touching.

I’d like to think Jed York was inspired by this speech to hire Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch. Those two have epitomized the family theme since Day One. Now the Niners are back among the elite.

On February 18, 2020, President Donald J. Trump granted DeBartolo a full Presidential pardon
Eddie go get your shine box

Jerry Jones wonders if he will ever make it to the Hall. If so, does he give any credit to Jimmy Johnson?
That would be interesting. I think he does.
Toooooo long over due …. Much well deserved

Pardoned today .. by the worst president ever.. or was it commuted ?... my team .. forever.. Rose needs the hall too..

Owners in the HoF…what a shame to those who actually played.
ONLY players belong!!
