About my 50th time watching this. Such a good interview. Even if an audience hadn’t seen moonlight he could still control a crowd

As someone from Miami, this really makes me proud of where I come from. Right now I'm seventeen years old, but my goal in life is to be able to make it as a filmmaker. I want to be able to make films about Miami and to be able to represent my community, the Miami Cuban community on screen, because there really aren't that many films about us, except for Scarface, of course. I want to be able to portray us as authentic and as realistically as possible, with our sense of pride for our motherland and the love we share with one another

I have news for you, if you are non-white in America, and especially if you are Black, almost everything is about race. If this isn't your experience, recognize and appreciate your privilege and don't assume others have the luxury of a life free of issues related to race.
