About my 50th time watching this. Such a good interview. Even if an audience hadn’t seen moonlight he could still control a crowd
He's a humble master filmmaker.
Norma P Humble? yes. Master? Not even close
Auto Focus lol and I guess you are
As someone from Miami, this really makes me proud of where I come from. Right now I'm seventeen years old, but my goal in life is to be able to make it as a filmmaker. I want to be able to make films about Miami and to be able to represent my community, the Miami Cuban community on screen, because there really aren't that many films about us, except for Scarface, of course. I want to be able to portray us as authentic and as realistically as possible, with our sense of pride for our motherland and the love we share with one another
Same here 17, in miami and wanting to be a screenwriter
Such a charming, warm, funny storyteller.
Such a great talk, I love this guy. So inspirational
very well spoken and articulate speech. it's just a matter of focusing what you want to achieve, be humble, work, learn and grow.
Thank you SXSW and Barry Jenkins.
Thank u Barry....finally... We get a real deal meaningful key note speech that "we" can benefit from. #salute
Bruh....my mind is BLOWN! Thank You.
“... I dunno how this shit happens, it just happens.” I needed that insight
Last year Gareth Edwards, now this... amazing keynote speeches!!
He looks like Taye Diggs
Typical guy in the audience makes his stagnation about race.
I have news for you, if you are non-white in America, and especially if you are Black, almost everything is about race. If this isn't your experience, recognize and appreciate your privilege and don't assume others have the luxury of a life free of issues related to race.
thats literally how white people intended for it to be. like.....LITERALLY.@@dlg5485
im not sure what this was supoosed to mean, its sort of dissapointing
