Another brilliant scrum half from Widnes, how many top flight scrum halves have come from Widnes playing for all the top teams in Super League and before Super League from my memory Ray Owens in the 60s too David Hulme before Widnes's demise. Into the lower league
Harry Smith reminds me of Cooper Cronk, great kicking game and organiser, complements Bevan French very well. He isn't at Cronk's level yet, if he ever gets there, but he is the best scrum half in the country by quite a margin. Despite the clamour from Hull KR fans to have Mikey Lewis as England's 7, the recent tests have vindicated the selection of Harry Smith. Lewis is a running half back, a stand off in similar vein to George Williams. Also in the big games between the two clubs Harry Smith has out performed Mikey Lewis, he is a good player but lacks the tactical awareness that Smith brings to a side and his excellent kicking game. Nathan Cleary praised him on it after the WCC.
Hardly a shock that Hull KR fans want their homegrown star to be starting for England - and it wasn't just Hull KR fans - I feel most knew Wane would pick Williams and Smith anyway Smith has one of the best-kicking games in the world, his game really shines in the big games but while you're playing in an incredible Wigan team his role can tend to fluctuate throughout the season as the value of his kicking game won't shine in big/easy wins so he wont catch the eye as often as other players - so it's not a surprise why it was a debate
Smith is highly rated, Just Bevan and Jai are more dynamic and have the star power witch take the pressure of Smith. Smith is not a flashing player he is still only 24, as long as he keep getting better his time as a star player will come.
He gets a lot of stick from fans, including our own, but he is a really talented player with a great kicking game. Glad many don't like him though and take no interest in him as it means he can stay at Wigan🍒⚪️
I have been disappointed/wanted more from him at times throughout the past 2 seasons but in the large majority of big games he's been the best player on the field At this point, I'm not sure why anyone would say he isn't a quality player
That's harsh and I was disappointed in his performances when French & Field were out, but in more or less every big game over the past 2 seasons he's been faultless and one of the best on the pitch for both Wigan & England

You need to make one about Kai o donnell

He's not underrated within rugby. He's your favourite halfback's favourite halfback whilst your favourite coach wishes he had him in his team.
French makes him look good, watch him when French was out last season he was woeful

where did Smith learn his trade.
