    Do you ever not fully know how to react to someone who does you (or others) wrong? Do you ever find yourself in the battle between holding them down, telling them how wrong they are, or simply just letting them get away?
    You’re not alone. For most people, forgiveness is both confusing and difficult.
    Luckily, spiritual messenger and author of Conversations The God, Neale Donald Walsch, is here to help you clarify how a highly evolved being tackles forgiveness.
    In this video, Vishen Lakhiani shares a story about how a thief tried to steal his phone and asks Neale Donald Walsch how he would react to such an incident. Neale gives a stunning response, then continues this lesson with a touching story of shopping at a market in a third world country.
    His stories and answers may shock you, but they may inspire you, as well.
    This is forgiveness, redefined.
    IMPORTANT TIMESTAMPS:
    03:37 Neale’s story of travel in third world country
    ABOUT NEALE DONALD WALSCH:
    Neale is a modern day spiritual messenger and the author of Conversations With God, which sat on the New York Times bestsellers list for 2 ½ years. Today, he is on a quest to spark a global spiritual awakening around the planet.

      From the books "Conversations with God." (1) Everything that happens in our lives we bring upon ourselves. There are no "victims". (2) In all situations ask yourself "What would Love Do?" (3) There is never a need for forgiveness. "Understanding" is all this is required. Beautifully said Neale! "We are all one." Thanks for sharing.

    "A wise woman who was traveling in the mountains found a precious stone in a stream. The next day she met another traveler who was hungry, and the wise woman opened her bag to share her food. The hungry traveler saw the precious stone and asked the woman to give it to him. She did so without hesitation. The traveler left, rejoicing in his good fortune. He knew the stone was worth enough to give him security for a lifetime.
    But a few days later he came back to return the stone to the wise woman. "I've been thinking," he said, "I know how valuable the stone is, but I give it back in the hope that you can give me something even more precious. Give me what you have within you that enabled you to give me the stone."

      The strong desire or "attachment" to the illusion of all physical things and finding some sort of value in such only leads to suffering. Truth, empathy, Care, LOVE, compassion, Will, self knowledge, Wisdom are much more valuable. Honoring LIFE itself is a gem, ALL LIFE is so precious with miracles every second, that's where I have come to be with the Creator of the Universe (one-word).

      Reg I know its two years later and i hope, you changed your perspective on that painful situation, but i wanted to reply you this. Like Neal said, you forgive, by understanding, why somebody became like that, and what that person experienced in life that they are behaving the way they do in the present moment. And when you will understand, there will be no need to forgive anymore, there will be just wisdom of experience that brought you to this understanding. Take care

    I have profound respect for NDW, but I’m not sure that responding that way to the thief would actually work. I’ve tried that over and over and people who have been so deprived of self awareness for so long don’t understand. They may agree and take your money but they don’t make that giant leap into self awareness because their circumstances don’t change. $300 or $600 won’t change the life of a person who has made a lifestyle of stealing to get by. Their problems are too deep. But I dare say it’s a massive ego trip for the person giving the money. It can make you feel morally superior and super enlightened. But when you walk off in the glow of your own self satisfaction or the approval of those around you, that person will be returning to the dire circumstances of his life, the surface of which, you barely scratched.

    • @daverogers1245
      @daverogers1245 6 лет назад +6

      Ana, thank you for this wise response. Nietsche proposed that the giving of gifts was not for the benefit of the recipient, but, as you say, to make the giver feel morally superior, or perhaps to assuage their guilt.

      Offering the money to the thief if you can afford to seems and feels like the loving thing to do. But the real blessing you give to such a person is by see them and experiencing them as Who They Really Are regardless of how the person responds to you. And regardless of whether they go back to their old ways or not. It's the consciousness and energy of love that you bring to the moment and to the person that makes the real difference, not the giving of the money. The giving of the money is the surface and is loving and important, but it is the consciousness and energy of love - that is what runs deep and is the greater blessing and healing. Because it helps to shift their consciousness to a higher level and helps to heal the fear, suffering and false beliefs the person may have.

    • @macbeavers6938
      @macbeavers6938 6 лет назад +4

      Whether it would work or not is immaterial. It is an act of "being".

    • @macbeavers6938
      @macbeavers6938 6 лет назад +4

      There is no "giant leap" into self awareness. Acting as Neale suggested might provide a slight "nudge" to the thief. That actionis something the thief would reflect on for the rest of his life.

    We value the money we make because of the time we put into making it. We don't mind spending it on useless things because it was our time spent on making it and our joy of acquireing it. If you underbid someone, you don't value that person's time and talent. Their is a fair value for any item, but if you can give more, give more not less.

      I have always beleived money to be the root of all evil as people will do anything to gain as much as they can even if that means taking the life of another human being in order to gain that money and in a world without money imagine how different people would be toward each other..🙏✨🌞

    Context is one thing we always forgot that is why it is easy for us to judge and get angry to the people who wronged us. Everyone has their own reason why they are doing bad things but it is for us on how we deal those people. We have the capacity to make or break them and so is important for us to realize that this life is not just about us. According to sir Neale, our life is about people whose lives we have touched.

He felt a bit ashamed, as if he knew that there wasn,t any cash anyway. So he had to leave without his bottle of wine. When i was paying for my grocery,s the man had walked into the store again , grabbed a bottle and tried to walk outside but they stopped him. I don,t know , there was something about this man, even looked a little like Neal by the way that made me decide to speak to him on my way to my car. I said hey mister i have something for you,, my husband didn,t liked it and stepped into the car. I said here,s five euro. Now go back to the store, and go back to the same man and tell him, o i had the money after all in my wallet. I wanted him to have that experience so they they would look different at him or so. He wasn,t scary or strange, what i said there was something about him. What i liked about this experience was the honest hug i got from him. I said now go home and enjoy your evening . My husband didn,t understand my act of kindness but in a way i did. Never did this before but it was nice. I had the money, a car, a house, a husband and he was feeling so miserable that only a bottlenof wine could gave him the only comfort i guess.

    Having a spiritual approach to such an event is important. HOWEVER, giving a thief money when he's in the process of stealing will only encourage him to keep thieving. Let's be realistic. I practice gratitude and loving actions everyday, but I don't think giving a thief money is necessarily going to change his heart or his thieving ways. There are reasons he is doing what he is doing, such as need for food, lack of income, character flaws, etc (or worse). Giving him money will not necessarily change his mindset or his circumstance. It may actually encourage him to steal more as he will hope for more people to respond as you did, Neale. In the rare circumstance where such a man may be open to a change in his life or has faith in goodness etc., you may reach one such man. But I have not seen this kind of response when I have given to people like him. What you did is a hopeful action, but it is rare that it creates change or turns into a blessing. I'm not saying to people not to do this, but be judicious in who you do this for. It will not always have the same result as you want.

    I am truly awaken by your examples and action, I was thought well from the society or community that it always best to bid less on someone since it has been a culture of one kind so we can be seen smart and wise but at the end of the day, we are valuing less on someone which reciprocates back to us since "we reap what we sow". WAKE UP!! WITH DELIGHT!! I AM DELIGHTFULLY AWAKEN BECAUSE OF YOU & I BID NO LESS BECAUSE I VALUE OTHERS WHERE GOD CAN VALUE ME TO WHAT I CAN REAP THE FRUIT!! LOVE U MICHAEL HASSEN, FROM ADDIS ABABA, ETHIOPIA

      Michael Hassen I always have a hard time bidding down on something in a market for that reason. I don't want to undercut someone unless I can't afford it.

      I have thought about what you said, when I find myself thinking that money is the only think that I can offer to experience who I'm, and its very valid to think that it is, but the answer is no, having money is and could not be the only way to express the highest expressions of kindness. Btw I live in Colombia, the thrird world country next to where Neale was, Peru.

    This offering the potential thief double his money if he never tries to steal again, it´s the quintessential "Jean Valjean" moment. One of my favorite stories of all time (Les Miserables).

    I hear you but most people like myself regarding the phone situation would have done at least a Naomi Campbell.
    When I was in hospital the cleaner came into the room and stole my phone while I into the bathroom. There were other nurses that came into the room at the same time so it could of been any member of staff. However I decided to make a show of it and a senior nurse who was not there came in and told me that it was normal for my phone to go missing LOL. This didn't go down well at all with me. Anyways I wouldn't let any of them leave the room until my phone was given back to me. My phone was given back to me and I forgave her instantly but I was more disappointed with hospital cover up... I didn't really care about the phone. It's the principal.
    I do consider myself as a forgiving person but it depends on the situation. All I would be doing by offering money would be telling the thief that I am a muppet and go do it again to someone else and hit the jackpot.

    that's so true though, why would we try to get a person selling things on the street to bring their prices down (where the person is probably living a very simple life, or struggling to survive), but never think to do that in a high end store (where the people are living very comfortably)?

    I so much wish that the schools in America would teach the law if one and how to deal with emotions in healthy ways! I can't help but wonder how different life would be if we were taught how to be accountable and emotionally healthy at early ages, such as preteens, so that way when puberty is reached they have a solid foundation of how important they are.
