Thank you so much!!! I kept scrolling down the search results for "advanced wave turorial" and most of them were too long but not much taught, this shared a lot of ideas and was a bit short which is great, not really recomended for beginners who aren't familiar with the basics but this is so helpful for those who wanna learn knew techniques♡
Masterful presentation. I didn't know there are so many possibilities. I have been practicing karate intensively for many years. A year and a half ago, a friend of mine persuaded me to take dance lessons. She convinced me saying that it's similar but it's more fun to do it. I also needed it to be able to dance with others at various conferences and meetings. I signed up for individual lessons 1-2 times a week. At first, I learned mainly dance in pairs- disco fox, later my teacher got me into solo dancing. Currently, I only study individual dance once a week. House, hip-hop, basic waves. I practice a lot alone at home. I already learned a few waves - body waves (and back), torso from top to bottom and reverse, and arms. It took me a long time because I'm 45 years old and I have a strong body, torso like armor from karate. The more I exercise, the bigger my appetite and I see the sense of it. Currently, I still practice karate. However, I do it more out of necessity to be strong and not to give in to circumstances and other people. The real pleasure, however, is learning to dance and the associated lightness and fun with movement. I hope that I will be able to learn a lot more before I get completly old.
You are definitely on the right track. I’m 63 years old and a lifelong martial artist starting from age 11. While in my 30s I decided to look into dance myself and it only enhanced what I was doing in the martial arts. There’s something about the movement especially while doing waving that frees up your body and your mind. I think it’s even possibleTo incorporate Taichi forms into your waving they certainly do complement each other. Another suggestion I would have for you is to investigate the movement discipline called five rhythms.
If you were martial artist you’ll probably get a lot out of doing TUTTING as well. Comparatively speaking, in my opinion TUTTING is easier to learn than waving.
Sorry I know I’m posting a lot here but I’m really excited about the Martial arts/dance connection. I find also that the Filipino martial arts can assist you with your waving and your flow. The Filipino martial arts are all about flow! Especially if you practice the double stick sinawali drills
All this time I didn’t know that the technique I refer to for years as and “liquid” was really just waving. Boy was I a dunce Prior to looking at this video I looked at one interview featuring wave O-Matic where he put me straight.
I know you didnt asked for advice but actually shaving all your head would look 1000x times better than keeping your hairline so above -profesional hair dresser
