@@hopestylteam Did you ever watch Breakin,Breakin 2,Beat Street,You Got Served and the Step Up movies there are alot of those. And do you watch Boogie Frantic,Poppin John,Fik-Shun.
Alireza, it's nice that you want to be teaching but you have to question yourself, what are you actually able to represent well when you're showing and teaching? It's not good if you misrepresent things because the people learning from you will learn things wrong and we will continue to have issues in Popping that we've had for decades now. We all need to do better in order for things to get better. It's very clear that you haven't really learned struttin. I can see the moves you're mimicking but the execution of the moves is bad and the other parts that you put together while doing the movement is just straight up wrong for the most part. For example someone that learns struttin gets to know early on about being sharp in the movement and positions and in the video you're being sloppy. It's also super weird that you put it in the "Traveling moves collection" when it is so much more than just traveling moves. If you're going to show traveling moves then stick to it and not throw in a bunch of other things along with it. You could have learned and focused on something like side to side that which is a step/move that is part of struttin and it would have made sense to be in that category. While on the topic, why don't you have "mechin walk" (as you call it in the video) in that collection? It even got WALK in the name... Also it's important that you make it clear that what you have learned and you're showing for the most part in the video is Boogaloo from the Electric Boogaloos and not Boogaloo from the Bay Area. There has been decades of the people from the Bay Area not getting any recognition for what they did for popping until just some years ago and Oakland was first with calling what they were doing Boogaloo. Still to this day people say they do Boogaloo but they have no idea about the Bay Area, all they know about is the Electric Boogaloos. I could go on listing more issues in the video but just do better man, it's great what you want to teach others but you need to make sure to learn the things well before you teach. Otherwise you will just continue adding on problems for everyone. Hope you improve and that you will start doing better so that this channel will be a great source for learning.
1st of all, the Mechlin Walk IS in the video 1:07 , 2nd of all, why don’t you make your own video & show us how it’s done then? Listing problems but not offering a solution just sounds like haterade to me. This is not an advanced tutorial, it’s for beginners & is extremely helpful. Sleep on the right side of the bed tonight so you don’t wake up wanting to claw at others without lifting your bum off your seat & demonstrating how it’s done the “correct” way.
After looking more into struttin I can see why he made this comment. I think it’s useful to let people know there’s more to it than what was displayed in the video. People take pride in their styles and want to keep the tradition going in it’s purest form. The video did an amazing job on cataloging the different styles so we can at least have some reference points and names and let’s hope people start digging into each of them more deeply. Let’s keep it constructive, appreciate both the video and the comment.
You are not doing any of these moves well enough to demonstrate them correctly. Your form is not good right now, but please keep practicing because you're headed in the right direction. Almost everyone who is just starting to learn these movements are not good at it, so don't feel bad about my criticism. Without real criticism to guide you, you'd be trash. Don't allow your friends or dance colleagues to only give you praise. Always seek an honest opinion from a qualified source. You'll get exponentially better and quicker with the right instruction. I am a 56 year old veteran of this dance and I still get concepts and advice from those more experienced (and most of the time older) than me. UNDERSTANDING the dance is key, not dance move names or trivial history. Remember: its not necessarily about moves as much as it is about MOVEMENT or the way you are moving. Have fun!
Do you know what’s the biggest difference between you and him though? He actually took the time to try to share a little bit of what he knows by putting in effort to make a whole ass video! I’ve met so many veterans like you that are so unenthusiastic, half assed and gatekeepy about their knowledge. Yall then go on to complain when people don’t do it right. If it bothers you and you wanna talk about criticism, then maybe teach other people or more imperatively instead of just saying he’s doing it wrong without explanation, explain how he’s doing it wrong then! Maybe even make a video showing how to do some of these moves with the proper technique. OG dancers confuse me, because y’all came from a culture that was highly communicative, collaborative, and a melting pot… somehow over the years a lot you guys lost that spirit, becoming stale and non communal. Welcome to the New World where if you don’t share your knowledge and the original culture, people are going to imitate it in ways that are inauthentic because you guys were not willing to adapt or share, so yes, we’re gonna get watered down versions of things.

Someone had a bad day! Come one, Alireza did an excellent job *showcasing* various moves. This is super helpful to beginners. It's not a tutorial.
