Me: Asks DLR driver why you late
DLR: no reply...
Im a bus driver and when im asked why im late, i politely explain I was enjoying a cooked breakfast at the side of the road!
😆😂😆😂
3:15 is when he actually starts listing his reasons, you're welcome.
Thankyou for making this video. Perhaps you should make one about how other motorists are very inconsiderate towards buses. I drive everyday and I am sick and tired of people whom park their vehicles in bus stops or too close to bus stops, which means that I have to go in on an angle and end up blocking the road. On the rare occasions you get to challenge these people and ask them to move, what response do you get? It is normally f**k off I'll park where i like. And I guarantee that the same people if you blocked the driveway to their house would would be the first to complain.
I agree especially when they block the island and we are officially not allowed to wrong side the island we have to sit there and lose time and mileage
Especially when they park too close to the islands and we cant pass because officially we cant wrong side the island so we have to sit there lose time and mileage and who's the one who gets the blame us drivers.
@@Srevelation if they are blocking the island then you can go on the other side of the road, dont know whos told you that you cant go on the wrong side
@@paulcowen8425 union
@@Srevelation they are chatting shite pal, if its blocked then by law you can go around the other side of the island, i used to work for stagecoach and went on the other side of an island to get past even done it infront of a copper and they did nothing as they could see i couldnt get through on the side
Nice video Andres...📲💻👍😀👌
At 07:35 I remember sticking those 'Red Notices' up on the 'abellio buses' in 2014-15...lol 😂...as I wanted passengers to read the information instead of arguing with me.🗣😶
(As passengers listened more when they saw a 'professional' official notice...!!!
We were told to hand them out to passengers in late June -July 2014 when the 'fully cashless system' came into place on the 6th July 2014...!!!
It actually worked well when I pointed to the notice...They would usually stand at the front entrance and argue explaining they had cash and that we should accept it! 😟😤)
I do admire bus drivers in London I live in Greater London and the bus routes are so long especially in the south, I don't know where they get the patience with some passengers, I always say thank you and a hello to the driver 😀
I live in south east Queensland in Australia, just north of Brisbane and retired from driving buses five years ago. Apart from anti-social behavior (like foul language and abuse etc) my number one hate was fare evasion. A culture developed where people thought that if they'd spent their money elsewhere that they had no requirement to pay for travel on the bus.
It turned out that I had to retire earlier than I'd intended because the transport authority and company management would not support my resistance to fare evasion (even with known repeat offenders). We were told to carry the passenger regardless of whether they paid or not or risk dismissal.
Disgusted to hear that. Terrible job carrying those bludgers and management takes the side of the low lifes like their feelings are sacred. Crazy.
Plus when your oyster goes into the red the ticket machine issues you a ticket reminding you to top before next trip so no excuses for not having credit on your oyster
Very informative video. Nice.
Rip 45 kings cross to elephant castle. How do tfl remove the tiles on the bus stop with the route number and the timetables so fast?
It’s a sticker
6:50 and then two stops turns into twelve👀
Thats why im very apprehensive to allow people.
just wanted to know a few questions
1-How do you deal with tiredness while driving
2- is there enough leg room while driving
3- and how long do you wait after the end of your journey before you start another trip back
Hey, great question
1. Tiredness is one of the most hardness things to overcome whilist driving. My advice is to stop the bus and not to continue if you feel tired, this of course would change my concertation level.
2.Some buses has terrible desgin, so for tall people who will sit inside a bus cab may find it diffuclt to sit in it and feel comfortable to actually a drive a bus for their duty.
3. If I have completed a trip for example from London Victoria to London Bridge I would normally have between 5 to 10minutes of a break time before heading back in the other direction.
What happened to the 45 going kings cross? Where did they curtail it to? I usually notice most things, but i haven’t noticed this route
Happy New Year Zammy, The route 45 was cut back in 2019 as part TFL reducing buses in the capital of London. However the 45 is still running today only from Elephant & Castle to Clapham Common which is still operated by Abellio London at Walworth Depot
@@DeckerLondon happy new year to you to Andre!
Yh 2019 was the year i begun driving and that was the year certain routes got cut and curtailed, annoying but i kinda understand why.
Nice.👌🏾
Extend the 45 to Wandsworth via Clapham South, Wandsworth Common, Burntwood Lane, Earlsfield and Wandsworth. TFL Fault.
Can't believe you have to stop at every bus stop. If there's nobody there I drive straight past it. Don't have the time to pull up at every one lol
I hate when people get on with a 20 pound note for a 1.20fair. Same people do it to hope we let them on for free and them same people never say thankyou or hi, rude a holes
3:50 annoys passengers too
I agree with everything you said, except to put your arm out for the bus. Here in America if you do that, especially in my city where I'm from, you may lose your arm. Love your London accent by the way. Your friend from the U.S.A.😁
His London accent isn’t that strong tbh.
Most time London buses might be running late and they need to make up the time. If you don’t put your hands up, they will drive pass. On average we spend about 20 sec on a stop and that makes all the difference.
If you see the indicator going on and you don't put your arm down, then the driver should just go past as I'd think the passenger at the stop thinks the driver is an idiot and can't see
@@misplacedkiwi9498 You have to understand something. I'm American. So his accent as a black man from the UK is something I dont see or hear. Stop being a hater on my comment.
@@albostu Understood. But here where I'm from people just stand there directly next to the pole where the bus sign is and drivers automatically know you want to board the bus. Bus drivers here approach stops quite abruptly so we dont take a chance to extend our arms outward, maybe upwards.
I’d never ever EVER wanna drive in London
On the red buses it cost £2 just to get on the bus
DO YOU GET PAID DURING TRAINING?
Think so
Yes. But at training rate
Always respond i'm not late the bus is, i was here at 4am....shuts them up...
😂😂😂
no that pisses me of to we stand at the bus stop for 10 mints for the bus and 3 or 5 people start to get there tickets and passes OHOH change as will but thats wen they are on the bloody bus and i am not a bus driver

Couple weeks ago. Was waiting for Bus down Mile End there was two 277 buses first bus went Second bus been held back good 5mins. There lady with Child. By her body language she was very rude telling driver why I bit moving. Driver try explain she was not listening then got off couple mins then drive closed the door more passenger's came on driver closed door. Then try get on driver let her on as respect. Long Story short. Never Disrespect bus driver. If that was different driver he or she won't let on second time

Does your employer mind that you make these videos? It took 3 minutes to start your top 10. Your list is applicable to North America. Some people just like messing with bus drivers. I know I did that job for 20 years. Public transportation should be free if it’s heavily subsidized by general tax revenues.
Just be ur self bruv talk how u talk lol what's with the exaggerated accent
What passengers hate is when bloody bus driver stop the bus to even out the service
They’re only doing what is instructed on the duty cardz
We do it to maintain a 5 bar headway (which is the gap between you and the bus in front or behind as two buses or more can’t be running together hence why we sit at bus stops for 5/6 mins
