    Shenzhen already have real driverless bus for more than a year and there is not 2 employees per bus haha. Come on, are there real journalists anymore?

      Guangzhou has it even longer than Shenzhen, but that was more of a test drive

    Stop lying. China had self driving autonomous buses and taxis that’s been fully deployed to the general public since 2021.

      truth is that humans make way more errors statistically than robots. 40,000 deaths per year in America from automobile accidents caused by humans

    I recently spoke to a post-doc computer science person at Cornell University who specializes in A.I. who told me he thought it would be at least thirty years (and possibly never) that A.I. could safely replace an experienced human bus driver.

      He's a fraud then because we literally already have driverless taxis working full time, having an autonomous bus is only a couple extra steps

      @@garveziukas So what's your opinion on Tesla's auto pilot function allowing itself to smash into a line of police cars at night since it wasn't able to see or react to them, and many other incidents similar to that with various autonomous vehicle systems?

    HUGE liability they’re taking on when something goes wrong. Electronics always break. Sure, humans are far from perfect and it’s those imperfections that led to AI but I still rather deal with a person

    Machines keep learning to identify more obstacles and the supply chain problems can be solved in the future

      They can tell the difference between a rock a tree and a river and etc. They have somr AI that can log on line and repair them selfs and etc. These is nothing to take lightly

    The problem is the other drivers on the road driving reckless. You can still have accidents and who will collect the fare. Incidents, emergencies, malfunction with the computer

    im against the idea of getting the driver out and the bus just controlling itself
    what if something goes wrong and there needs to be a driver to take control? takes a good amount of tugging to open those cab doors

    OK that’s all fine but what happens if it’s a cyber attack and systems go off-line?
    At least with a real drive on board you’re not relying upon technology to get your passengers from A to B...
    … And cyber attacks are a real thing

      Theres regulations that force megacorps to have actual security. Except in CONservative areas.

      @@droge192 But even a closed system has a computer terminal somewhere that can be accessed for maintenance or upgrades.
      Wouldn’t that it’s weak point where he’s cyber attack can’t affect it.
      All I am trying to say Id like to have a human being at the wheel so I can talk to another human. If I wanna talk to a machine all I have to do is call up a business that has those automated systems.

    whats the difference for passengers? doesnt this just take away the job for drivers? whereas life goes on for the passenger

      The main priority for me is that as long as the self-driving bus doesn't ask me to put on a mask while taking the bus, then I'm happy. As wearing masks doesn't do any good and causes more harm to your health. Specifically for me, wearing masks back in 2020-2021 resulted in having more seizures because of a lack of oxygen. It will be a while until Self-Driving Buses arrive in CANADA.

    What happens when an intoxicated or mentally ill individual (or individuals) board the bus and become offensive, violent, or disruptive (which happens fairly frequently)?

      Someone may be able to oversee many different buses at once remotely and deal with issues accordingly. For example they could call emergency services, or use a built in intercom system to warn passengers of misbehaving.

    Gov need to really just do it . Don't care about some deaths and what not . Its Gona be safer than human driver . If a driver crash, ppl will just say that's incompetent. If a AV crash ppl are Gona say tech is not stable enough and the gov will ban it .

    What happens when the bus kneeling system, and/or wheelchair ramp system fails (which happens fairly frequently), and a disabled person is unable to board or exit the bus?

    Great another job gone! And you think if you send that bus down town to Detroit or Chicago it’s coming back 😂 I see some future drug smugglers loving these they just stash their stuff and another guy picks it up nobody to charge for hauling it to point a to b! I’m sure in some places it can work but others it want! Where I live that bus got no chance neither does a self driving car! Even the Google car didn’t make it out here! 😂

      I agree, many city bus drivers can't do their job properly, a friend of mine almost got killed when boarding a bus because the driver pinched her head with the door and took off, she suffered a concussion

      I'm with you on that buddy. As I really hate wearing masks while taking the bus as it does more harm to your health and for me personally back in 2020-2021, wearing masks on buses for a certain amount of time resulted in me having more seizures because of a lack of oxygen.     California made a law that by the year 2025 all public transportation buses have to be running on hydrogen fuel and that conversion of gas to hydrogen will cost $8B for California.

      @@droge192 U deft cow, that makes it a bomb, and they won't have employees on there to die, it will just be passengers getting blown up from crashes with hydrogen. Autonomous cars are still 20 years away but being tested now with over 20 deaths so far in one year of being run over by autonomous cars. Let's have you be the first test crash dummy for them, shall we? Do you even know why they stopped using hydrogen as fuel? Hindenburg.

    I was reading an article that when cars rolled out in 1890s they first rolled out in France or England because people were more reluctant the tryout vehicles and then after people road vehicles then it came to America which takes me back to to this subject can you imagine the Uproar it would have if it came out in America first
