Spoiler alert! You gave away the ending! Just kidding, that was absolutely sublime and fascinating, Malcolm you are truly a treasure. Every time you said "we're running out of time" my heart would sink. Huge respect. And thank you for all the work you do. Listening on a Sunday while sorting and tidying.
Again thank you Malcolm;; as you know, I have been dancing through fire for a long time. Although never alone, I have been in need of a dance teacher. You are a fine dance teacher, and today my spirit leaps with joy and understanding! God’s Grace is so Amazing!
I loved this! I've been writing a series for my church going through Dante's Commedia for the 700th anniversary. When Rev. Dr. Guite started reading his poem at the end, I grabbed my copy of The Singing Bowl and followed along. I have always loved that poem of his a lot!
Superb! I have read Inferno many times, and Purgatorio thrice, but never completed Paradiso. This gives me hope to go through that final third. Thank you!
Hey Malcom, I humbly suggest that you check out Anthony Esolen's translation of the entire Commedia. It is extraordinary. You can look up reviews of it to get an idea of its great strengths. Like Malcom Guite, Esolen is also a poet, and it proves a profound asset to his work as a translator.
Sorry man got a pit sick 🤒 in the head but it was a Weird dream that red sky millions of the van meters visit falling and me they only one that could stand up to them classical Messiah complex lol bad 😅dream

“Let’s just pause on list for a moment. . .as you do. . .” 😂
This is really an excellent introduction! Love the enthusiasm too. Thanks for posting this!
I wasn’t aware that the staircase in purgatory was wider and more spacious than it was in the inferno. 49 : 12:36:14
Much obliged.
Any opinion, either of you, of the Robert and Jean Hollander translation?

I am too
a wild one
delight eye sigh
milk bare thigh
what, but do
drink of you
oh my sacrifice
