- Join us as we spend the day at Kolmården Wildlife Park located in Sweden for our first ever visit! The park first opened in 1965 and has expanded over the years with new animal exhibits and attractions.
In this vlog we share our review from the park along with riding the first Rocky Mountain Construction roller coaster in Europe! Wildfire opened in June 2016 and in this vlog we share both on and off ride footage from this awesome wooden coaster. We also share our full thoughts on the ride along with experiencing the other attractions at the park!

I said this when Wildfire was first announced and we saw the first concept video, and seeing the real thing confirms it - this really looks like my ideal coaster! Beautiful location and views, terrain-based, trees and rocks, magnificent looking structure, good theme, good layout with decent length, explorative (feels like you're actually going off on an adventure through the landscape rather than just the whole coaster being bunched up in one small plot of land), and from the sounds of it a really excellent ride too! Trip to Sweden to do all those three parks very much on the cards for whenever I can afford it...

The first inversion on Wildfire is called a zero-g stall. There is also one on Twisted Colossus on the green side and also the very first stall on Goliath at my home park, Six Flags Great America.
begin of vlog still remembers me on my own experiences of visiting Kolmarden for first time and the long way all through the park to ride on this great coaster.
I can‘t really see this being the best coaster in Europe. It‘s my personal number 3 behind Taron and Helix.
For me, it felt really slow during the second half and the elements didn‘t really do the trick aside from the outside banked turn.
Still an amazing ride, just not nearly as intense/fun as I expected.
I definitely warms up throughout the day!

Hi Shawn, just thought I'd drop a comment on your channel. There's some excellent content on here and I think your shows are incredibly well made. I've been lurking since the Sanbrooke Productions days - I was back then a nerd when it came to coasters, with an absolute burning desire from then on to go to Cedar Park (on that note, when are you going!?). Your channel certainly helps me forget that I work in finance in London!
On that note, my number 1 is also a woody and one you'll approve of, I was fortunate enough to ride the Coney Island Cyclone this summer! If you need a substitute vlogstar for New York...

Grona Lund is closest to the park out of the two, well worth the trip!

I'm scared about the new credits I get to ride next year, currently my top coaster is the swarm at Thorpe park especially on the back left hand outside seat (the first flip over side). Taro , Hyperspace Mpuntain, black mamba and fly are the main big coasters for me along with a few more UK coasters. Who knows I may reach 100 coasters. A highlight from this season so far.....300 rides at Thorpe park

Man, you love wildfire so much, you’d really love the topper track RMCs in America. Outlaw Run and Lightning Rod are pretty much all of the best qualities of Wildfire plus a few unique and crazy elements minus the slow spots that Wildfire has. They’re incredibly intense rides. So much so that I absolutely cannot re ride them even though I really want to lol.
The location really adds to this also!
Theme Park Worldwide I’m sure it does! I don’t think there is a better natural setting for any roller coaster operating right now!
We are huge fans of Longleat safari park and would love them to expand and add a coaster or two like this park has. Great Vlog guys.
Wildfire looks like an incredible ride, but it just makes me get more frustrated with the current state of UK parks, particularly Merlin's. This is a relatively unknown wildlife park in a relatively small country but they have built a world class ride. Merlin, I believe is one of the biggest theme park operators in the world, and all we get are half baked ideas like Rita, 13, and even SW8 to a degree. Don't get me wrong, Rita is a fun enough speed run, and SW8 is also looking like it could be a fun, but yet again, short ride (although I could really do without yet another doom and gloom themed coaster), but the less said about 13 the better, ha ha! (Sorry, I know some people love 13, but I just found it a huge disappointment), but with their size and deep pockets, they should be building rides like Wildfire. I know this sounds like a rant against Merlin (well it actually is), and to be fair they have built some awesome rides in the past (Nemesis, Oblivion, even Stealth, which I love), and I know there are some ridiculous restrictions put on them by outside forces, but even taking that into account, there are so many smaller, less visited parks, around the world that just seem to make so much more effort in their rides and theming as Shaun has shown in many of his videos, including this one.

I agree with you, Merlin should be able to put in more world class attractions, but I love 13! And Merlin didn't build Rita, DIC did! SW8, while it looks like a family coaster, I reckon that it'll pack a punch when it's open. The parks I believe need a better look at are Chessington and Legoland, which I believe they are finally beginning to do!
Yeah fair point about Rita, you're right it wasn't actually Merlin involved, but then again I did also stupidly credit them with building some of the best rides at Alton, but in my defence It was getting late and Id had a drink, lol! But the point I was trying to make still stands, Merlin (and to some degree the parks previous owners) are big players in the industry, but are constantly outclassed by much smaller parks with much smaller budgets. Hopefully Thorpe's next coaster will be something to wow us, and outside of Merlin Icon at Blackpool is certainly looking good, and maybe even Adventure Island (my home park) will put in another bigger ride, after the success they have had with Rage!

I think the theme parks in the UK are erring on the cautious side with safety being paramount rather than pushing the boundaries. Looking forward to Icon.

Oh man I knooooow I’m so hyped to get on there, CP was my home park all my life until I moved out of Ohio and I haven’t been back in quite a while, last time I was there it was for the opening of maverick, I can’t believe it’s been that long but I’m definitely making the pilgrimage for the occasion, they really delivered on taking out the trash at CP. I don’t even usually enjoy woodies buuuuut Steel Vengeance looks like it’s gonna change my mind in the best way.

I feel like this park could rival cedar point in size. From what I heard if you walked from the toll booth to the front gate and made one loop around and back out it is a 5K

Not as far as I know, it’s named after the town it’s in!
Its the name of the area, it means kol (=coal) mården (=forest).
