If it was what you think it was they would have threw the Lego to the ground or even just at the edge of the table but they didn't and just put it back into the cameras field of view. The Tesla bot has made tremendous progress in just a few months. The reason is because Musk and his team understand A.I. and machine learning. Lots of companies can make a physical robot but then each little movement has to be pre-programmed. What makes this bot great is that it uses machine learning and Artificial Intelligence to do things autonomously and it is going to get better and better each and every month. I don't think anyone else is going to end up with a robot as good as this one will be. I think in perhaps 18 months it will be doing amazing things which will be useful in real world situations. From what I understand, even these actions in this video of being able to pick and sort things out and adjust to changes as it does are already actions that are of use in a number of factory situations.

You just need a few sensors that can detects the wavelength of reflected light, servo motors for the joints and hands, and then a program that can move the motors accordingly. What’s scary though, is how easy it is to do stuff like this that seems complex. I can only imagine what’s going on in super advanced secret labs
