Came here to see how you made a soft arch and you surprised us by taking it to a whole other level! It’s beautiful!!
Truly! 🎉/
Hahha she really took on a mind of her own! 🥰
100%, God bless ✝️🫶
Who remembers Macenna's first use of power tools in her first apartment? She has improved so much to the level she could totally built a house! You Go, our girl!
Yes! I remember when she made the wooden vanity and she was so proud and look at her now!
She did build a house.
Kinsley watching as you explain your vision for the archways, like she completely understands, is TOO CUTE!!!
I noticed that too- so cute & attentive. 😊
Right? 😊 she is so precious 💖
I just know this house is gonna look so good!!
aww omg thank you!!! i cant wait to see it come to life too!
And so many people said „Don‘t change the arches“ MaCenna, you proved them wrong 😂
These new arches are so amazing and really unique! The wall looks so much taller as well😊
I'm like MaCenna, I didn't like those weird angled low looking arches either. They look so much better now! I love ❤ it!
So many comments on "DONT CHANGE THE ARCHES!" Look at
them now. (I don't believe anyone saw her vision) 😮
@@michelewalkerwebb or maybe ppl just didn’t agree with her vision. The arches were fine as they were. Some ppl prefer the old ones. And that is okay
When you showed both arches, I was blown away by the difference it made. It is absolutely stunning. So grand, so rich! I can’t wait to see the finished room!
Huge difference! Just imagine it all painted 😮 can’t wait
The transformation is lovely. How you share your thought process, the setbacks and successes is the magic here. Your authenticity. If I could make one suggestion-it’s for you to slow down, give yourself grace. This room is more than a three part transformation. Walk us through your choices for the stair wall treatment in one episode. The fireplace treatment, your decisions, techniques and why in another. The front door and window treatment in another. You have a rapped audience. We aren’t looking for speed-we’re looking to be included, which you do so generously. Give yourself grace. We aren’t going anywhere.
You can't stop genius... you go girl... you know yourself and will stop when you feel you have too... I"m impressed
when hubby and I hang pictures, I take the stud finder, put it on my husband, look at it and say “it’s broken” 😂😂😂
omg hahahahahah
Classic! 😂
😆
As a single woman of too many years I think it’s time I got a stud finder!😊
@carolinemurray7648 Best of Luck! May you find the perfect match!
I was already so excited for the arches, but you’ve brought it to a whole new level - just like you always do! I can’t wait to see what the room (and the rest of this house) will look like after you put your mark on it!!
aww thank youuuuuu
Also I’m sure you figured it out by now, but I think adding trim on the windows and doors would look amazing and tie everything in together 🙈
Love your name…spelled just like my daughter’s ❤️
I just had a vision of MaCenna’s future daughter watching her mom renovate their home. What an role model for us and the future generations ❤
Kinsley was the Queen of Supervising on this project! She deserves extra pay!!!! And OH MY WORD, the arches are EVERYTHING!!
KINSLEY IS TRULY THE STAR OF THE SHOW!!!
What breed is she? I want a kinsley!!🥹🥹
your LA house is going to look magical with cottage fairy vibes it's giving b/c of the garden and all the amazing personal detail work you're adding. Gah so excited to see you give it your magic touch :D
yessssssss thats the plan! living my best cottage fairy life :)
@@XOMaCenna we are here for MaCenna’s cottage fairy era 🙌🧚🪴⛲️💐💙
These arches remind of a Spanish style
And old house we use to have when we were kids!!love it
@@XOMaCenna I hope I’m not too late for you to see this, but there are flexible molding products. You might check them out in case you want to add more, or use in future projects! It might give you ideas that aren’t limited by rigid materials! Or maybe use in your stair designs... you never know!
Another thought I had about midway, before you started on the design you did, but I was thinking layering precut arch “moldings” out of the 1/8” sheet and possibly routing the edges, or somehow mimicking a curved casing at the top, with layered and routed pieces...
The 45 degree angle 📐 in the archway is called a chamfer. Architectural style, unsure but definitely unique! The new arches look so good! Makes the space look taller! 🙌
I noticed the angled arches actually had the same shape than the roof (from the shot at the desk), don’t know if it had anything to do with it… 😮
@@ameliedeserres-lafontaine5184 great catch! Must have been the intention/ inspiration!
macenna just over here casually jumping plugs & making arches - my literal hero 🤍!!!!
You never fail to impress me, MaCenna.
Such a huge difference when you see it side by side - before and after!!
I was impressed with the electrical outlet….but WOW! Those doorways are going to look beyond amazing! Your house is so lucky to have you!
I am obsessed with how it turned out! I'm a reading teacher and I'm out of school for the summer, so I'm about to tackle some much-needed renovations in our 1970s home! Hopefully, my carpal tunnel will allow me to do the projects I have in mind! You're such an inspiration to me and give me the confidence to do things I never thought I could!
Thank you for all you do being a teacher! You are very valuable & appreciated! I hope you have a wonderful summer enjoying your much deserved time off 😊❤
@@LindaKayHolevas aw thank you so very much!❤
I feel like your journey with the crown molding at the cottage was the ultimate test for this project. You just went with your gut and built up the skills to just go for it💪🏼. Well done MaCenna ☺️
Kinsley jumping off the settee when you put the first Brad nail in 😂 I bet she was thinking, "Oh no, she's at it again. 🇬🇧 😅😅😅
Maybe they were just the kind of people that liked "cutting corners" ;-) LOL. Great job, MaCenna, as always! XOXO
😂😅
You truly made me lol. 😂
Genius, this is GENIUS! What a transformation! Couldn't believe the difference it made between the 2 arches and how taller it looks now. Great job!!!
The cosmetic renovation videos are my cup of tea!! I love that they’re projects I could do to my home without ripping apart walls
The inspo arch trim would have been plaster so it’s like a putty that they would slap on the wall then drag a pattern form over it and it would look like trim but could be any shape! You always do such a wonderful job! And very very excited about this house and all you’re doing!
I’ve started renovating a old house after years of watching you!!! I’ve found nothing is quick. What I think is a 1 hour job I’m working on 6 hours later
In response to your recent community post: Even though I am SUPER excited to see the arches completed, I’d enjoy the more consistent process videos, even if a project is still in process and we have to wait to see it completed. I think we all are just so happy to see your face, that an incomplete project doesn’t matter. BUT, do what you need to do to not get burned out.
I feel like a lot of men will never understand the happiness and pride that come with doing something like this. We're told from the get go that it's too difficult for us, that we're not strong enough, not smart enough.
It seems like the smallest thing, but it's actually so so important to show girls and women around the world, that there's nothing we can't do. Thank you, Macenna!!!!!
MaCenna, in outside privacy fencing, when a board has that angle cut on both sides of the top, it's commonly called a "dog ear."
I don't know why your arches mimic that shape or why the angles seem so random - but your solution to that issue is gonna be epic! Can't wait to see them all completed. The improvement will be amazing!
I am an avid watcher of your vlogs and main channel but I must say this blew me away I was thinking just soft arches but no no no you brought so much attention to detail to this project. My favorite parts is when you describe your thought process and showing what works and what doesn't. Keep up the great work very entertaining!
That arch looks amazing MaCenna! Glad you didn’t give up when you snapped the two pieces 👍👍
MaCenna your building DIY gives me life. I’ll be honest I’m to jittery to sit still and listen to podcasts but your projects make me feel so good plus I’m always makes me feel
Women can do anything. We all live vicariously through you. Keep building please.
I would love doing something like this in our apartment! I mean, it is fitting since we do live in France! I never thought it would be this "easy"! Thank you for sharing the rough costs for this! We have been procrastinating these types of projects for our home using the excuse of costs, without actually knowing the actual costs 😂 Anyway, this is really inspiring! Thank you McCenna! And thank you for liking and sharing French architecture 😊😊
I was feeling a wee bit starved for Reno content and NOW, you are bringing it! That doorway is phenomenal! Can’t wait to see it with color.
you totally transformed the entryway, it looks so gorgeous and elegant!!
Your archway is amazing! I can’t believe how elegant you made it. Plus it DOES make the archway so much higher feeling! Having both of them completed will make both rooms look so beautiful! Can’t wait to see them all done!
I have just completed the soffit board of the terrace of my parents' new house with my husband. I was the one cutting it with a miter saw. I owe this accomplishment to you, MaCenna - you show us, girls, that power tools are awesome and nothing to be afraid of ;) Thank you!
MaCenna!! Every video I think “oh yeah this is the one where she’s officially outdone herself”, and THEN you come out with another video and I’m like “now she’s REALLY outdone herself!” I can’t begin to tell you how obsessed I am with the arches! Heart eyes forever
I’ve been following you for years, and may I just say I think your amazing. You’ve taken a skill you loved and everyday practice it without letting fear stop you. And I’m proud of the accomplishments and progress. It’s amazing to watch someone grow this way. I think it looks beautiful. Also you’ve inspired me to actually start.
The original doorway looks “builder grade,” for lack of the proper term. The new and improved architecture looks rich - and you’re right in saying, “more welcoming.” Great job! Wonderfully imaginative.
You are now at a level, we can't categorize as DIY! It requires some serious skills and a brain like yours!!! Totally in love with those arches
My thoughts exactly!
She is now basically a professional carpenter.
We shouldn't set such low standards for people though.
I would reconsider those chairs - the backs are so high that the scale looks off in that room. It’s a tight room to space out but if you had lower backs on the chairs to match the sofa it wouldn’t look as crowded. Just a suggestion
im 100% with you! they arent quite right im going to try them in the other room where we have more space :)
LOVE the soft arches and trim - makes such a difference bringing in character 🙂
“Holy Cow I love this!” Me too, MaCenna! Watching you literally make your dreams a reality is what I most look forward to each week! Thank you for absolutely everything that you do in your added process of inviting us along every step of the way! Holy Cow!
P.S. Regards to Kinsley! 💘
Amazing job! I can’t wait to see more projects!
Aahh it looks so good!! I love it! I can’t wait to see it all painted and finished
You seriously just created a "how-to" video for everything I've been wanting to do to the arches in my house but been too nervous to start!! 😍 THANK YOU!!!
This woman amazes with every single video… so so much respect for your dedication and hard-work
It’s truly inspirational in so many ways
I get the impression that this "hard work" you speak of in some sense is more like "play" for MaCenna.
I'm not discounting the swear equity that it takes to do these projects - I'm just saying that for her, there is built-in FUN in the doing!
I love how excited you get.
Wow!!!!! Just beautiful
So gorgeous!! It has taken the front room to another level.
You are amazing! This house now, has endless ways to totally get it to your taste ! Such a fabulous look those arches ! Very inviting! 👍💕
Love! Love! Love! The added depth at the very top *chefs kiss*!!!!
The soft arches are everything ❤️
AMAZING! Not only does it look awesome, it adds so much value and character. You knocked it out of the park, MaCenna!❤️
Can’t get enough , can I just say .. you are truly amazing and you bless me as I watch weekly ❤
Can't wait to see them finished!!! You are amazing girl!!!! ❤❤❤
I was a little sad to see you leave the cottage for such a long time but you look so happy, healthy, relaxed and in your element in this video!! I know LA has already been super good for you. Hope the rest of your Summer treats you just as well.
We can always count on you MaCenna to take every project to the next level. It's going to be stunning!
There is nothing that you can’t do! You are such an inspiration to so many and your attention to detail is evident by your beautiful work!! You are amazingly talented!! Ty
Fabulous! Just wow!
The archways look awesome!!!!!!!!! What a difference!!!!! Love it!
I love watching the creative cogs in your brain going round as you are thinking of elevating your projects. I am an architectural technician and I have that type of technical design brain so I get it. Watching you is like a fix.😂
WOW!!! Girl, you took that door and worked magic on it! Will be absolutely gorgeous when painted. What a great talent you have! Love all you do!
It is very beautiful and can’t wait to see when it’s all finished.
Wow Macenna can't wait to see it all finished.
You took that entryway to the next level! I’m continually in awe of your creativity and ability to knock every project out of the park!
Ok I totally take back what I said about waiting on changing the arches on one of the last videos. These are MAGICAL! I'm already imagining them draped with garland and a sprig of mistletoe at Christmas! ❤
You never cease to amaze me! That looks stunning!
Wow! That is awesome! Love your creativity!❤
It’s beautiful!! Love the collar on the arches too. What if you add that to the fireplace? The top part.. when you were standing between them it gave me the idea 😃
Absolutely stunning. You're truly inspiring to women around the world. You remind me so much of my mom and older sister. They never allowed anything to hinder their creativity. I really enjoy your content!❤
You always knock it out of the park. Beautiful job.❤
So amazing!!! Looks so rich and can’t wait for finished setting!! I know it will look amazing!!
The archway looks amazing already!!
You can make short cuts in the side that you’re bending to. This makes space to bend and it lesson the pressure on the top. Just slight cuts, kinda like if you’re sewing and do curves, you have to take out some of the material so it lays right.
Wow, just wow! Love this. Great job
STUNNING love it love it love it
Definition of TRANSFORMATION!
I love how you showed every single step, from your vision, to every single material, how to manipulate the material, adding details for elevation, and then budget breakdown, and let’s not mention the vision of the entirety of the home. Not only did you elevate the entry arch, but you made sure that there were unity in the home’s structure. You are such an inspiration to women who have a passion for art and life/home style but may not know exactly where to start. ❤
When you jumped that box and that lamp turned on I said she is freaking amazing, I’m so very impressed with everything you do. I’m inspired 🙌🏾🙌🏾
You're SO good. The soft arches are brilliant!
oh my gosh MaCenna.... amazing! I always feel so proud watching you.
Love the arches and all the trim you used!! A great 6 days in my opinion 😀 can’t wait to see the final look
Honestly, your creativity and workmanship is AMAZING!! Beautiful arches!
Great job. Love seeing you tackle things.
So exciting cant wait to see whats next. You are so awesome to watch.
MaCenna, the "jump" you refer to with electrical work is called piggyback or daisy chain 😀
I've always heard it called a jump, too.
Hey MaCenna, if your house was built around the 20's to 30's, the very straight lines in the arches would indicate an art deco style. You see this straight line arch style a lot with mirrors of the time, less so with door archways. I would assume the arches are original to the house.
Love the changes to arches
Awesome! You continue to inspire us all. Well done, MaCenna.
Incredible transformation! It’s so surprising how adding details just brings it to the next level. Great job! God bless, John 3:16
MaCenna, the collar on the right side looks crooked in the video. I hope that's not the case in real life. The doorway looks fabulous!
Absolutely amazing, it’s looking great, can’t wait for the next video. Well done.
Soft arches are my absolute favorite. You are amazing!!!
The arches look a little Art Deco. Love the soft arch. Looks more like it goes with the house.
I love your style! But I think those chairs are far too big for the space. They make the room look really unbalanced. I think they'd work better in the family room as it is a much larger space.
i totally agree with you! just wanted to play with them in the space :)
@@XOMaCenna Always fun to play around with different pieces!
Looks great! Perfect match to fireplace, love it💖
You are so great at explaining what you are doing and the why! Thank you!
I feel like, with the style of the house, a simple arch would fit better. The victorian style trim, you are adding, looks like it belongs in the cottage..
I was thinking this same thing…..
She keeps referring to it looking french…the house is definitely not french
Soft arches look nice, but original arches were unique to the house. It's as if you're looking for things to change on a whim 😮
You are so creative and clearly well organized!
You continue to amaze, love seeing what you are doing and can' wait to see the next episode!
