This is Filipino hospitality-- Kim and her warm, wonderful and friendly family. My dad got a scholarship in UK and stayed with a British family at Middlesex near Thames river. He experienced the same thing. Good people, good reception and good food. I admire both countries.🙂
Filipino hospitality is a trademark of filipinos not only in the Philippines but also abroad. Merghim you deserve the love. You are truly an advocate for the Philippines via your vlogs. Thank you so much for showing the Philippines to the world. God bless and more power.
Mergim is lucky and blessed to have a friend like Kim to accompany and give him a personal tour in Kalibo. Tours that gets to Kim's personal childhood experience from her hometown. How cool is that. No tourist is ever gonna experience a personal touch of tour like this. A tourist needs a personal relationship with a local to experience such of these. Good Job for a good friend like KIM of Kalibo!
Congratulations Mergim for successfully reaching over 100 thousand subscribers. The wait is finally over and your perseverance has paid off. The value of patience is truly commendable. It's great that you got to visit Aklan, as there are many other amazing places to explore in the Philippines.
A typical Filipino home-cooked family meal,Mergim is introduced into.....esp the brown rice. He eats very little...trying a bite-size of each viand only. A great family bonding at mealtime, though. Thank you to your family Kim for entertaining Mergim, our favorite vlogger. Enjoy more Kalibo tour, you two. God bless❤❤❤
Authentic Filipino dining! That's how we are, we eat together during dining, and check what's going on in everyone's life or sometimes just talk on random things
Once again, Filipino hospitality as its finest from this generous family😊. Great content idea 💡 to have willing viewers show you around their local areas that highlights places unexplored by other vloggers to help promote how special and fun it is to stay in the 🇵🇭! Feel free to add cautions, if warranted.
This is how Filipinos are well known for... Makes me feel proud of our heritage, culture and fellow Filipinos. It was nice of Kim and family to invite you in... Have a great time Enjoy! 😊❤ #MerKim
The girl is somewhat like Grey, the new GF of Mike of Making It Happen who is so fluent in English. Although Grey has a British accent but this girl speaks articulately
OMG that is so offensive comparing Kim to Grey. There is no comparison. Kim seems to be genuine person. And the other one is so fake with her fake accent.
On your Lechon question: Lechon comes from the Spanish word "Lechon", which means suckling pig. In the Philippines the meaning of that word changed to "rotisserie grilled" because that's what they did a lot with such pigs. Lechon manok, is basically chicken, prepared like lechon on a rotisserie. Hence "Lechon manok" (rotisserie-pig chicken). 👍🔥🍗😋
Bisayan been using the word inasal for Lechon. Inasal manok or inasal baboy. We should start introducing our own terms. By the way rotisserie is French.
@@marierocher4422 Rotisserie is also used in English. But you are correct that the word originates from French. I am Dutch and our language also uses words that were derived from French, English and German words, etc. Even ancient Latin and Greek, But I didn't know about Inasal meaning the same thing. Even though my wife is Bisaya from Davao, Mindanao. Nice to know. 👍🙂
@@jeroen7699 you’re European and it’s common to use borrowed words. We’re in Asia and specially the PH has lots of different 170 dialects and 6 considered languages and some dialects are dying. I only felt keep our dialect and languages alive. It’s cultural. I’m only concern as it kills the language and disappears. Good to know your wife is from Davao and for sure she speaks Bisayan cebuano. I speak Bisayan cebuano too, although I leave in France. I admired the deeper south of Mindanao who are still using the deep Bisayan languages, closer to Indonesia and Brunei. Languages are also a national identity as we discussed with some friends from Ethno/ Anthro. By the way most European languages were rooted from Latin except the the Germans or most Nordic countries.
Its a diversion from eating restaurant or commercial meal to home cooked meal. Which is good. Try eating in carienderia once in a while to appreciate home cook (tagalog : lutong bahay) meal.
the hospitality and kindness to see family members of nice conversation, see you the next adventure trip with kim, keep safe and good health 💯💪💖 GOD BLESS PO 🙏💖💯💪💖
😮 yeah, why not....ilonggas are sweet-speaking people (malambing)...also "basta ilongga, guwapa"). Try courting one, Mergim....i sense "attraction/chemistry" between you n Kim.....(just my thoughts)....would you consider dating her? It's entertaining watching you both touring the rest of Kalibo, Aklan. Stay fun....safe...and God bless.
Never mind the money arguments that’s unhealthy conversation and its get weird just be true to yourself Mergim. We knew you are so kind hearted most of your hardworkings comes from the heart. Enjoy buddy!
Lechon is synonymous to a roasted pig (a whole thing and not just a piece of meat), hence, lechon manok is a roasted whole chicken. So what ever is called a lechon, it's something being roasted as a whole.
The way she reacted about the tip, its like she has not helped needy people. Gurl it doesnt happen all the time. Bless you man for tipping the guy. Youre right about good karma.
Wow, that was a very sumptuous lunch! I was salivating with that eggplant salad and that dried fish. Generally, you would experience the same hospitality in any Filipino home.
she is right letchon name of the dish, like Adobe there's is a adobong manok and adobong baboy. same in letchon have letchon manok and also have letchong baboy.
lechon i think meant suckling pig. make sense to me if leche from spanish is milk. as a tagalog speaker my brain interpret the word as roast maybe that's why we also called a roasted adult chicken as lechon manok.
An alternative translation to "lechon" is roast, especially when it is placed before a different kind of food other than a pig. For example, lechon manok means roasted chicken. Of course, in the typical use of this word, lechon is automatically understood as roasted pig. Anyway, great video. The food looks delicious, of course.
Kim is right, Lechon means suckling pig... lechon is not the process of cooking. That's the name of the dish. When we translate it in tagalog (Litson) , that's when it becomes the process. She's one smart lady.
