Have you thought seriously about getting a Farm unit? I have two kinds, and I planted some Burpee dwarf beefsteak in one of the shorter Farms, but it died around the same time two of my peppers got spider mites. So I’m letting them sit empty for a while to make sure the spider mites are gone, but then I’m going to plant the Burpee dwarf beefsteak tomatoes in the Farm XL. It’s taller, and I think it’ll fit my tomatoes better. I think you would like having a Farm XL, too.
It is my understanding that the moment a tomato begins to ripen it has already internally separated itself from the rest of the plant. Therefore it is safe to remove the tomato the moment you see it changing color. It's possibly more important to do this when growing outside to avoid catching the eye of small animals that may eat your Tomatoes.
Yeah, once the tomato started ripening, it will continue the process even after harvesting. So, we can either harvest as soon as they started changing the color and leave it aside until fully ripened, or let it ripen fully on the plant. I do both time to time.
My family is just getting into hydroponic gardening (have ordered our RainPoint system but haven’t received it yet)…. Your channel has such great content. Thank you for making these videos!
I'm looking into the vevor dwc bucket system for tomatoes. Was going to try in my aero garden but I have eggplant and thyme in there now. Yes, after watching your video on eggplant I bought seeds.
That was a great experiment to see. I always wondered about the non determent verity, it seems that you can keep growing tomatoes for as long as you keep it under control and in the light. thank you for taking the time to make this experiment.
Once they start to change color (green turns to a lighter yellow), you can pick them and they'll ripen on their own. This is also a good method if you are growing outside and have squirrels eating them.
On day ~35, the root went inside the water float and the water sensor stopped working. So, I had to take the plants out, remove the roots and clean the system. After that, I never touched it again. No water change no root trimming. I was only cutting the branches that went above and far from the lights.
How was the flavor? I've grown some very tasty Early Girls outside, but have struggled to grow them inside. I think CalMag is essential for best taste. I've grown some mealy tomatoes inside when I didn't get the nutrients right.
@@MrManDillerBut you are the only one saying it sounded bad, English must not be your first language. So you communicated clearly only to yourself. Maybe that's the problem.
@@bumpsy2358 I said it sounded like it was recorded in the bathroom sink I never said I couldn't understand it that was your inability to understand what I said repeating it won't help though if you didn't understand it first time you're not going to understand it the second time.
Excellent video on tomatoes! Thank you!💚

Early Girl is a determinant.
@@GregoryCarrier the one he was growing didn't look determinate or all tomatoes would of grown at ones and plant would of died.
I'm amazed at how few leaves there are and also how small they are. Are you regularly pruning leaves?
Great video! Thanks for sharing :)
By Day 132, What nutrients are you using ?
And how much ?
And how often ?

Yes, that's true and I do it often.
Did you change the water or trim the roots at ant time? I would like to try this variety on one side of my 24 XL.

Excellent flavor. I felt really authentic tomato taste. I loved it.
very cool!
My goodness that thing just kept going lol
But how do they taste!!!?
Taste is excellent.
Kind of sounds like you recorded your audio while speaking in a sink.
Must be your audio system, because I could understand everything he said, without issue.
@@bumpsy2358 Must be your reading comprehension. I communicated clearly.
