There are some really good tier 1 items: Psilencer Revelation has Armor pierce baked -in (no seeds needed, no WP cost) ; Force Sword Concilator has +50% XP baked-in, upgradeable to +100% XP with seeds
I always buy the lower Tier Equipment items because once you have them, they won't show up again. This way you'll always be getting new stuff instead of re-rolling the same gear.
I look at it differently since Im an incredibly lousy player and I only play at the easiest mode. I dont buy any of the tier one equipment since once you max the requisitions out, you will never see tier 1 again. Of course, I have no idea if this is a viable option for the early game for tougher settings
There is a force sword, early on, that ends up giving you +100%xp bonus. I think it only takes green seeds to upgrade (starts at 50% and upgrade is another 50%). This is one of my go to items to have for getting a bit faster levels on the high tier classes (paladin, librarian, etc). I think it's Tier 2.... unsure. Also was glad to see Endbringer in there - a force halbred that adds a LOT of AP on an execute. It can get pretty ridiculous. Use the stun +4 stormbolter to set up executes. Use For the Chapter to give your soldier doing ranged stun damage more actions. You can transfer willpower I think it's the librarian? Chaplain? Someone. Anyway do that too and then spam stuns. I've cleared whole map encounters in just a couple of turns using that + some teleports/gate of infinity nonsense.
Nice! Yeah that was pretty much my style also. They have nerfed all that a bit but still works. Was playing around with the stun buff from Apothecary too. You nee the armour that uses health instead of willpower though.
@@MercytheMad Yeah I've been playing just this last week finally with the Duty Eternal DLC. I keep running into enemies with 13 on the stun meter but only about 12 health (I'm on Ruthless so more HP at least = higher chance for stuns). Even with that you end up killing more than getting stun chains sometimes. No way around it. Great video. Chaos Gate isn't perfect at ALL but it's still a fun title and I hope they make a second one at the very least!
@@HillHomeGaming I want them to make a proper expansion that adds on with Khorne or Tzeentch. Its a good game but needs more content. Needs some neutral parties otrher chaos goes or whatever to get involved as well for some variety
@@MercytheMad You know playing the intro to the game I thought it would end up with some Khorne missions - left overs of the cult that had just been smashed in the tutorial you know? But then that didn't happen at all. So yeah I agree another enemy faction would be good. @@HillHomeGaming Yes, I play Ruthless also. Sometimes I have to use long-range bolter fire to stack-up the stuns, but keep the damage low per hit, in order to stun an enemy without killing him.
Correction (Edited) High Damage Weapons are good for killing* Enemies. Teleport Strike is also good for killing enemies (as opposed to stunning or Critting) - but teleport strike damage is a set amount *NOT based on weapon damage*.
"ogen's edtic" is a little better t3 falcion +5% crit and +1 dmg then (35% crit and 6 dmg) and "ferocity" has the same stats only with the -1ap to enemy if hit bonus. but that's only a little sidenote your vid is still 100% correct and helpfull
IMO the best way to min/max is by avoiding upgrading knights in the early game and working with the knights you got. New knights are the least bought option in my 6 play throughs and the only time I bough ones was in the late game to fill out the knights I wanted in the final mission. Ranged weapons is actually the second worst requisition to invest in because the verity of ranged types make it more of a gamble that you’ll get one that is compatible with your knights. For armour it’s best to wait for tier 3’s other than 2 exceptions, extra grenades and extra servo skulls. Melee is the second most important to begin investing fully because the tier 3 weapons are massive game changers. That being said there are some really good tier 2 melees like the knock back hammer and the weapons with 25% crit. Items are the most important upgrades in the game! A tier 1 healing servo skull vs a tier 2 is like playing on a different difficulty level. Upgraded wp, crit chance and focus are the biggest game changers because they all help with getting more AP each turn. Much like ranged weapons there’s also a lot of useless items you want to get them upgraded as soon as possible so you have a better chance at finding them.
I generally do not comment or like, but I appreciate the sincerity you project in all your videos. Best chaos gate content out here. Do you still play?
@@MercytheMad im trying legendary grandmaster and was doing well til recently. Trying my best to min/max if you have tips on an optimal squad composition/ build id be forever grateful
@@LouTheVuittonDon I'm kinda out of touch with the current updates, but you can use the Callidus Assassin to completely carry you for the early/mid game so you can safely build your late game squad. @@MercytheMad Yes - I know you prefer melee. I've seen your work :). +1AP armor is tier 3 power armor called Kantu's Vambrace and it has also +1speed and +15 focus. I hope you will get one. Cheers.
Totally agree. I also tend to stuff my Justicars with things that up their WP, so they can just continually Honor the Chapter on basically every turn. There's a +5WP set of terminator armor that's great for that, and some good warding staves as well.
is it ever worth getting a level one item for a good effect, early on. or is it always better to just wait? I currently have a hammer with knockback, terminator armour with extra actions and also doesn't trigger the meter when doing magic (sounds pretty sweet) and then a tier one of the stun mine.
Yes there are some good tier 1 items, but ideally you want 10 points for the Day 60 Grandmaster meeting. So I am usually cautious with spending until I am sure I have the ten points. I usually go 8 points for the Day 30 meeting (take all items, skip knights), 10 Points for the Day 60 Meeting (all items AND knights, then 8 points for each meeting after that (all items, skip knights after the first point)

Heya @pauljackson1944 You need to complete the first “Nexus” mission, that will unlock more tech options, you need to research "Purity Seals" Tech. @@HungHo001 When you upgrade the armory reward slots, you increase the chance of higher tier items. But even with reward rank of 4, you still have a chance of getting tier 1 items , regardless of how late in the campaign it is. Only at reward 5 (the max), do you stop getting tier 1 and only get tier 2-3 rewards. And because it is so random, and there are so many different items of each type, you can never count on getting tier 3 frag grenades, for example, assuming your campaign only goes about 500 days. If you drag it out beyond that, I can't say, maybe you will eventually see a tier 3 frag grenade.
The game would get a lot easier if you could pick ranged weapons and grenades from the Battlefield. The Chaos Cultist stubber outranges everything we've got and hits hard enough to trash Powered Armour. Maybe they can't be sued because of the gauntlets or something.
There’s an armor that extends the range of your grenades by 6 (Keeper of the Flame). Also, there is also a version of the Psilencer that has insane range at 20 (Victory’s Testament).
