"No way you a human can endure that long of suffering"
Romani said with his best acting performance
Well, to be fair...He DOES say "Life is a pilgrimage in which we stockpile suffering" when he reveals himself
Bro don't do this to me, I haven't finished part 1 yet
@@CrinFelks then don't check the comments dude. It's filled with spoilers
Wait
Isn't romani reborn ? That's his wish from grail to reborn as normal human, so he didn't have his past life memories
To be fair, he only lived a live as human for a decade or so.
Merlin: If you give her the sword, You'll die, you know that?
Bediviere: Bro, finally...
They really did do such a perfect job with this sequence in the movie.
One of very few things lol
@@sobokgaming8476 the second movie was great especially at the most important story parts, animation and fights
how? they literally change everything
@@Mustang00 I mean just watching this after seeing the movie, it's apparent why they would. This shit looks amateurish because they made it work in 2016 with pliers and good writing
@@JesseAnderson I mean, it’s still good writing. Great actually.
Bedivere is one of the most badass characters in Fate and he’s one of my favorites for this.
If there's one comforting thing about how most servants lose their memories of their previous summoning (unless what they experienced deeply affected their spirit origin somehow), it's that because Bedivere was alive this entire time, at least one servant will always remember you no matter how many times they are summoned.
Isn't that wrong since you fix the singularity? Proper timeline bedivere gave back excalibur and this timeline doesn't happen.
@@naheulbeukzantar Well yes, but our Bedivere isn't from the regular timeline, as that one wasn't exceptional enough to enter the Throne. This Bedivere tho, his long journey and his final moments and all of their impact is what made him worthy to be in the Throne of Heroes, which is why he still has Excalibur in his right arm acting as his NP Airgetlam.
Jalter also has the Orleans Singularity and her several encounters with Chaldea afterwards permanently burned into her Spirit Origin, and I'm sure there's a couple others besides the obvious (Jalter Lily, the Lostbelt Servants, Yu Meiren, etc) who are full fledged Heroic Spirits who came to be directly due to Chaldea's meddling.
There's also plenty of Servants who's original version in the Throne have been permanently changed by what happened during a summoning, like Avicebron carrying the guilt for betraying his Master in Apocrypha forever, Nursery Rhyme always taking her Master's forms from Extra or Fran achieving happiness in Chaldea leading to her original in the Throne becoming "lazy".
@@rotciv557 the lostbelt servants arent in the throne of heroes, theyre just recorded by the FATE system which is why they can be summoned, Yu Meiren did make it in cause shes a Xian and she gets to choose, and Jalter Lily also I think, but the lostbelt servants arent.
@@ley5532 see, I thought that was the case, but now Scathach=Skadi literally just got into Arcade, on a timeline where in Chaldea still hasn't registered her Spirit Origin into the FATE system yet (and potentially never would have, since they might not be going the Lostbelt route in their plot). This might mean that there may be specific exceptions to Lostbelt Servants not being in the Throne or them somehow useing an alternate method to be summoned, so I decided to broadly add them too.
I actually hear Pekora's voice breaking when she heard he's just a human
One of the best bits of foreshadowing to this reveal is the fact that when human support servants are defeated in battle, they don't disappear but jump back instead (because they can't take spirit form) but regular support servants still disappear like any other.
Even Mash, who jumps back after a defeat, still displays the gold particle effect to imply she's at her limit.
Bedivere however follows this pattern.
Remember Bedivere is just a 4* in the cost of a silver
I have Bedi grailed at 100 and let me tell you no one else can nuke a boss as hard as he does
Tbh, nearly all 3* are pretty good. Like how post buff Caesar actually deal more damage than Musashi, a 5* lol.
@@justawanderingoldman7699 5* servants tend to have useful kits and interesting NPs, so they're pretty useful as is. But raising them is not as easy, and that's when the lower rank servants shine.
It's like that one Ushiwakamaru I borrowed back then. Her stats might be lower, but she slaughtered those caster bosses like they're mere scrubs.
I actually had to stop using him for a while because all the fun bosses keep dying in 1-2 turns
Switch On is a freaking WMD
man, hearing the text even though it's not the VA really brought me into tears
lasengle really have to implement voiced story for fgo
That would be the best thing ever
Tbh, they can sell a full VN out of Arc 1 if they really want to. With new CG and voices, it can easily sell as full-priced, or at least half-priced VN.
That's probably why they have not yet implemented VA yet. Lostbelt 6 by itself can sell as an individual VN if voiced.
@@Emiya491 That will be the biggest thing ever. No, seriously. The game size will be bloated up by a lot lol.
@@justawanderingoldman7699 a small price to pay.
I dont think my phone will handle that
That would really hinder a lot of the story. Because what you are able to tell and what characters you are allowed to use would be greatly diminished based on what voice actors are avaiable. Granblue for like 4 to 5 years couldnt use Korwa at all because her actress was on a hiatus for medical reasons and recently they recasted her.
You skipped her reaction when she saw that support Bedivere was in a butler outfit
It was at this scene where the part he was crying out in agony all by himself made sense, the sheer loyalty of Bedivere.
IIRC the Story Support Bedivere you use actually gives this away. If he gets defeated in battle, he doesn't disappear like other servants. He acts like Mash and retreats from the battle.
S5 Camelot is still my favorite FATE story. I got somewhat of a personal connection to Bedivere since he's just a normal guy with disabilities too yet he achieved great things and eventually a Miracle. Bedivere's prosthetic silver arm is extra badass too not just because its the sacred sword, but because its been remodeled to be a replica of Nauda's silver arm, just awesome character design! It's been really cool that because of Singularity 6 being before the previous Singularities that link the Lancer Artoriases/goddess Rongomyniad together as being a outcome as Bedivere's choice, thus creating the Headless horsemen's Wild Hunt mytho. It's a touching and very tragic story, just a man who couldn't accept his true friend dying to a prophecy, and as a result he wanders the earth for a grief stricken millenia, searching for his non existant King until one day, Singularity Camelot appears.
I believe it bears some necessity to mention, that Bedivere here in FGO's Camelot, is probably also the most faithful adaptation of the original bedwyr; a skillful, relentless one-armed knight, whose sole prerrogative was to stay by the king's side, no matter what.
the outcome that led to the Singularity - almost lostbelt - that was the Holy Kingdom Of Camelot, was something that very well could've happened, had our beloved Bedwyr not steeled his nerves in the last moment and hesitated to return the sword to the lake; and yet, he persevered, he wanted to return the sword, to tell his liege he failed and was unable to follow up on that last, final request; and for that, he fought. and he fought.
there's this small extract in the vulgate cycle, where bedwyr faces Arthur, Lancelot and Gawain in duel 3 v 1, and despite the numerical, and physical disadvantage, he comes out on top; not a single scratch on his person. Because Arthur may be the king, but who taught him to wield a sword? Lancelot may be a prodigy, but what's a prodigy to a teacher? and Gawain may be blessed, but what's a blessed to someone who received none yet trudged ever onwards?
this mastery, this...focus is perfectly portrayed in bedivere's 1500 year long journey to return the stranged holy sword to its rightful owner, and to put an end to the madness that had taken her, afterall, a good caretaker and teacher, must know when to put an end to their student's misdemeanors.
P.S: Camelot as a Singularity, is only a Singularity because of the origin point, the crusades in Jerusalem - the Sixth singularity that FGO Arcade got, was the one that was initially detected; which by the time we got to it, had deviated into what we know as Camelot, if we had taken even just a week longer to reach this sixth inflexion point, there's a more than high chance that it'd completely deviate into what we now know as a Lostbelt, if not just break the current timeline even further, we just caught it in the brink and closed it out
this is to say, that Bedivere wasn't exactly chasing shadows, he was searching for someone who was still out there, prancing around in blissful immortality, mind kept in ever so degrading stasis by a deity once stuck in a spear; it just so happens, that the poor...lost king happened to take a place to stop and call its new kingdom
This is why Bedi is best boy
The seriousness of that moment is somehow dispelled by Bediver's butler outfit lmao.
Bedivere is my favorite servant in FGO because of this; his courage and resolve to exist, alone, searching for 1500 years, is breathtaking.
"The mind can't last forever!"
That's why mankind tend to be called a "miracle". Some people do have ridiculously powerful determination, whether it's driven by passion, sheer willpower, grief, guilt, or simply stubbornness. Bedivere did tried three times to return the sword(which apparently happened in several versions; he lied about returning the sword twice, and returned it on the third), each time his guilt grow bigger and bigger. His mind is most probably already way beyond broken, clinging on to the only things left in him; his guilt and loyalty to the King. So that talk with Merlin is basically just a small talk. Even without Merlin telling him about all those things, Bedivere already knew how it's going to end, and even with all the "fear of death" part, he see it as his long-awaited resting place.
If the situation's on a joke-y atmosphere, Bedivere probably gonna snap back at Romani and say "I know already, it's been 1500 years and I'm tired, don't remind me of unpleasant things!".
It’s amazing that people wish for living a longer life, but I guess there is peace in death as well
god damn reading this again made me cry, not the emotions I expected to experience from this video but god damn do I not regret it
im so happy to see pekora's reaction to this because this may be one of my favorite scenes in all the singularities and made me love bedievere
Glad someone took the time to sub this. One of the most iconic moments in FGO's part 1 story.
"No way a human can endure that long of suffering"
God Emperor of mankind and WH40k fans: allowed us to introduce ourselves
are you really saying that the emperor is a normal human?
thats the first time ive ever seen arash live to the end of a battle
The conversation with Merlin at the end made me cry the first time I played through it.
The poor boy did everything for love of his king
This is why I Grailed my Bedi to 104. I can only go that far due to how coins work
Keep going brother i believe you can 120 him
i wish all of pekora's streams of fgo (and fate zero) were subtitled but man that would be so much work
This part of fgo really got me. I liked France and america singularity because of the stories but this was on a completely different level of emotions tbh and I nearly cried...
Although Babylon is the most hyped for me, Camelot will always be the best singularity I played at...
My biggest regret will always be that I got lazy and used a support Musashi instead of Bedivere for this fight
BRB grailing Bedi
man i wish i could relive playing Camelot for the first time. I wasn't expecting the story to impact me so much. Bedi became my #1 favorite and remains so to this day :') I will get him to lvl 120 eventually!
couldnt take that part seriously cause of the him wearing that butler costume xD
Camelot still hit the #1 spot for the best story in fgo
I find seraphix from 1.5 arc still better then any of solomon arc imo
Camelot is good but i dont think it compares to Babylonia, LB1, LB3, and LB5
@@Anthem34 just wait until LB6 stomps on all of them

@@toxictrashcan5013 ok,but I like it
One of the many reasons why Camelot is my favorite singularity in all of part 1.
i cried this scene
I feel the sadistic urge to make her watch his end in the movie, but also the overprotective instinct of not letting her.
i hope pekora watch the camelot movie, i sure cried like a baby watching arash and bedivere
Sir Bedivere is the real GOAT. I have always loved his loyalty since the FSN VN era.
Humans from the Age of Gods and Age of Knights are far stronger than modern humans
Ima be honest this brought a slight tear to my face I’m a softie 😂
Wait the fans translated even the game. Wtf you guys are next level.
After knowing what happened to jinako/ganesha in lb4.... I can't help but think what bedi been trough is nothing compared to that
Hmmm, why would that be? I know about both, but why would Jinako had it harder?
@@cjcatague2607 Bedi's 1.5k years compared to Jinako's 10k. Not to mention the fact that Jinako was completely and utterly *alone* unlike Bedi who could still interact with other living people.
@@cjcatague2607 kubaba said it perfectly. Jinako was in isolation alone I an enclosed space with no one to talk to for eons. It's..... terryfying
@@kubabakomnene It's probably not 10k. A full Yuga Cycle is 4,320,000 years, so if Ganesha had to go back in time enough so that Arjuna will think of the Skyboulder as part of the World, she had to go back farther than the first Distorted Yuga Cycle.
So at the very least, she had to experience one full Yuga Cycle, and had to experience distorted Yuga cycles after, which comes out to AT LEAST 10 Million years.
but Jinako know she's immortal and there's light in the end of tunnel. Bedivere know this journey is going to his dead
I’ve always wondered, but… does this imply that being a Servant would’ve lifted the weight of mental damage? Or is the accent on “he’s just a human” just meant to lead us to the logical conclusion on that Bedivere’s been looking for his King for 1500 years?
The latter part
Even though the movie is kinda bad but this scene hit hard

ah yes... says the right guy...
I should have never skipped the story
Well, the Grand Order is almost fault of the self proclaimed Grand Magus
Looking Pekora as master of Chaldea like u look at another form of Gudako here.. God, She bring Arash to defeat the Lion King Artoria.. i cant do that
I wonder if Pekora will feel the same way about faeries once she experiences Lostbelt 6
I think I read somewhere, typemoon only allowed them to stream up to the end of arc1.
But regardless, her box isn't deep enough to have a chance to fight anything after maybe the china or norse lostbelt for now anyways
Bedivere the best boy
Honestly cannot wait for her to watch the Camelot movie.
Rip the good boy
the movie did great, tbh the game did good on cutscene, i hope i can see atlantis and olympus in animation, gonna cry on orion scene
can't wait she react LB6
If Excalibur is Bedivere's Arm, what happened to the sheath Avalon in the Grand Order World?
Saber lost Avalon before the battle of Camlann and that's why she got fatally wounded.
This timeline history changed at Bedivere's sword returning act, just before her death.
So Avalon is still wherever it is at in the original history.

To be honest, I managed to sniff out the twist in advance from, of all things, a Wikipedia article on Galahad. Not even a fate wiki, either; just a regular Wikipedia article. So I wasn't that surprised when all this occurred. That being said, it was still a pretty well-written scene.
...That being said, I didn't find Bedivere being a normal human instead of a Servant all that significant. Was that really that big of a deal?
Yeah. Because if he was a Servant, he would have been like everyone else, just summoned here. He would have been dead, inscribed on the Throne, then summoned. He wouldn't have had lived for 1500 years. He wouldn't have had those long 1500 years of walking the earth with that unbreakable determination. That means that each time he fought with Excalibur acting as a powerful steroid, he was on the verge of having his body just self-destruct and in unbelieable pain. What he did? It's insane. Insane, horrific, tragic, and all the more beautiful because of it.
Have you ever tried to wander for more than 1500 years just for devotion to your king?
@@gabrieldoyen692 Not to mention servants are basically superhumans... and Bedivere went toe to toe with em while being a flesh and blood human.
Let's have you walk alone in 15 days with guilt and see how bad it feels like...
Then 5000x it over. Yep it's that bad.
As a servant, he simply would have been summoned into this singularity some days, weeks or months before the actual story. Instead, he's been around for 1500 years. It's really about the amount of time he's been sticking around.
They imply he was alone on his journey up to this point. At the very least, it doesn't seem like he had any lasting companions. He journeyed alone across the ancient world with it's rough living conditions unlike our modern world, and even across realities (Camelot Singularity is not their original worldline). He probably had no permanent home, only staying in one place for at most weeks while he searched. And he never stopped searching. Unlikely he took a 100 year sabbatical or something at any point, heh.
And finally, what Merlin mentioned about the fear humans have of death is not a random thing thrown into the setting. Typemoon works have consistently maintained that humans have increasing fear of death the longer they live, something true immortals who were born with eternity do not have. Most notably, many dead apostles (vampires) who were originally human in Tsukihime have unbalanced to completely deranged personalities because they've been twisted by this fear. Zouken from FSN is also another example, having become a complete sociopath completely detached from everyday life by the time of the story compared to when he was younger. The few pseudo-immortals that are 'stable' have specifically guarded against this using various techniques, but Bedivere doesn't have anything like that. 1500 years is on the upper end in Typemoon's setting for pseudo-immortals. His fear of death eclipses that of probably any character in a Typemoon work and intrudes on his every waking moment, yet he stands there like the day he took Excalibur from Artoria. As Romani said, his mind should have broken down long ago.
F
