Dina was crazy about her birds and seeing them escape broke her heart and sent her into a deep depression, so I'd say her revenge was more than well deserved. Garrett is very fond of his sneakers, but since he let her birds escape for a very dumb reason, this one's on him and he deserves to lose something precious to him in return for taking something precious from Dina.
