    What Do You Do When The Unexpected Happens?
    Film a Contingency Review! In this sixteenth episode, we test a 2023 Dacia Jogger 1.6 E-Tech Hybrid Extreme, which is really nothing like the old Logan MCV at all. On this occasion, we receive some assistance from Mr Bill from the Fuel Power channel ( / @fuelpower , talk about regenerative braking, try out the third row of seats and generally ramble on about things of no consequence at all. Nothing untoward, then!

    Thanks to both of you Sir and Mr Bill for bringing this review to us. I was not convinced of the 1.0 turbo would be the right engine for this amount of car especially when fully loaded. So was delighted to hear that Dacia would be putting in another engine. Shame it's automatic only. The top spec model looks good and has all the kit I think most buyers would need at a very sensible price, especially when looking at the competition. There really isn't any. Thanks for another stellar review Sir.

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting
      @lloydvehicleconsulting  11 месяцев назад +1

      Sir, with both these engine options, I think Dacia have covered a lot of the bases which most buyers would consider. Hybrids don't seem to come with manual gearboxes these days, I am afraid. The price is very competitive indeed.

    The only thing is, that I ordered my Jogger Hybrid in the beginning of february this year. I didn't actually test drive the hybrid version, but ordered it on rumors and specs 🙂I'll be one of the first to drive the hybrid in the Netherlands. So I was a bit surprised by the model upgrade which was announced even before the first showroom models arrived here. Even on first arrival I'll be driving the 'old' model with the old fabric and without the copper accents. That just doesn't feel right.

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting
      @lloydvehicleconsulting  11 месяцев назад

      It's very odd. As you say, the car was recently "facelifted" for the 2024 model year, but they don't seem to have told those who had ordered them originally about it, so I imagine you will be getting the 2023 model, sadly.

    I just picked up A Hybrid SE extreme, they stopped doing wireless Android Auto, due to chip shortage. Was told this when bought , told online and youtube videos and told again on collection. Guess what my car has, Wireless Android Auto
    As for the regen Braking, its superb. Remember its a hybrid not full electric. Its better than the Honda Jazz Crosstar, that i have owned

      @lloydvehicleconsulting  11 месяцев назад +1

      I have driven a lot of hybrid cars, including the Renault Captur I may have mentioned in the video and some of them do have more severe regenerative braking. It's down to personal preference as to what of severity you like. You are correct, Dacia have recently realigned the trims, which is very confusing. Thank you very much indeed for watching and commenting!

    Thank you to yourself and Mr Bill,for this review for £24k this makes a lot of sense for a young family they maybe have more than 2 kids for example friends of ours have a Jogger as they have 4 kids and it's sensible family transport for people who do not want to spend huge amounts of money on a SUV.
    I think it's rather more estate looking than SUV.

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting
      @lloydvehicleconsulting  11 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, £24,000 sounds like an awful lot of money, but when you think about the price of secondhand cars these days, you sort of realise that it is not too bad. These will hold their value well, I think.

      @@lloydvehicleconsulting I love them because they are basically exhaust ports, and you can get better flow for the passive Air vents air circulation (without using AC compressor or fans), and in special because they are not as noisy as back windows open at "high speed" (past 60km/h), that creates a pressure oscillator drum like effect.

    It is certainly descended from the Logan MPV . The Logan is a great car and I intend to replace mine with a Jogger soon.
    The low safety rating for the Jogger was mainly about safety features for passengers in the rear-most seats. Unless you regularly pack the car with 7 passengers this shouldn't be a worry.

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting
      @lloydvehicleconsulting  8 месяцев назад

      Yes, I don't consider the low safety rating to be anything to worry about. These are surprisingly good cars, I don't think that anything else brand new really gets close for the money. Thank you ever so much indeed for watching and commenting!

    Jogger is probably the only new car we'd consider, be interesting to see how reliable the hybrid drive proves long term.
    I know looks are subjective but compared to the awful cloned things so many makers churn out these days i find the Jogger a refreshingly decent looking car.

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting
      @lloydvehicleconsulting  10 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, the reliability of the Hybrid models is a bit of an unknown at the moment. That is why Mr Bill is probably just going for the normal 1.0 Turbo model if he decides to get one. I am not sure that would be my favourite colour, but I do agree with you that it looks a bit different and it is decent looking car.

    • @BS-ql5nl

      I would consider hybrid version as to 1ltr 3 cylinder because it won't screem the engine not being turbocharger and driving around town in electric and automatic would be more relaxed. Don't really know how far the 1.2Kw battery goes before recharging it's self nobody has really explained this in reviews.
