Got the deluxe edition for 55 online and m having a blast. Running it on RX7800xt Nitro + Desktop on a 1920 x1080 280hz panel i run the game in VSR on 2560x1080 High / Ultra or 4K Med / Low
Aside from the rough performance in Cities the game is looking amazing so far. Slow start but once your getting into the story it has amazing moments.
Especially Night lighting looks slick. Caves look amazing, not perfect tho some things are to much copy paste in the world.
Also run it on My Cyborg 15 a12vf rtx4060 i7 12650h and 4tb m.2 16gb ram connected to a 4k TV 65inch. Running it on 1920x1080 Med High settings at 80 ish fps. \
I'm actually pretty surprised about the performance of this game on 4060, Cities are insanely taxing but they wil fix that.
I do use FSR and or Fluid frame gen in High ress. Depending on the settings. But even 4k low settings looks surprisingly good.
But performance can deff use a bumb but look at BF2042 now vs how it was.
This game is actually not "graphically" demanding, 4060 is actually good enough to run this game. But in reality this game physics calculation and npc behaviour is completely handled by the cpu, tanking the fps in the process. Thats why built with really good cpu but mid tier gpu able to run this game
It's not a GPU problem, the game is entirely CPU limited, even the mighty 7800X3D can't handle this shitty pc port + denuvo at the same time.
Bad performance is rarely, if ever, a hardware problem. Just software being unnecessarily bloated, bad source code, bad/outdated libraries and paradigms...

Yep Capcom joined the boycott list with Bungie, EA, Blizzard/Activison, Rocksteady and Ubisoft after this. I'm keeping the game only because it'll get fixed down the pipeline. Rockstar I only play for Red Dead. Thanks goodness I love the indie scene so much.
They should have been there to begin with… they literally break old games by adding DRM. They have implemented MTX into every single game.

there is a nexus mode that fixed the performance. now I'm getting 110FPS inside the town and between 130-160 outside. look it up in the HOT mode section because it becomes a must if you play on PC. it's made by the same dude that made DLSS mode for starfield and was charging for it, but now he's offering the mode for free.

I gotta say, loved mh world, re4 remake and other capcom games. I never purchased any of them, hell we even played mh rise with sunbreak in 4 player co-op (with co-op crack).
That kind of absurd pricing will always make me be a pirate when it comes to shitty devs like capcom and ubisoft.

People complaining about poor performance and pointing their fingers at “bad optimizations” shows most people know very little on how games work. This game is heavily CPU dependent, yet all anyone talks about is “game has bad fps even on my 4090”.
To clear the confusion DD2 game world isn’t static like 99.9% of other open world games, it’s openly dynamic. Enemies have no script binding them to a set radius, they can freely roam around and do what they want anywhere in the world. This also applies to a good chunk of NPCs which react accordingly to enemies. These two levels of uncertainties are chaotic in nature and to run this level of world simulation needs tons of CPU processing to keep up with it in real time.
The game world also uses selective culling. Meaning most of the NPCs are rendered from far away. There is a bug for NPCs which has them phase in a foot away from your character, most noticeable in the capital. This isn’t a feature as people think “is saving performance”. Even though the NPCs are not physically being rendered their AI still exists and continues pathing around as it would normally.
And than there is hoerizon forbidden west with godly optimization. Nixxes are gods of ports no lie
i always wonder: if these kind of games don't even run smoothly on the highest end of hardware...how were they even programmed or created in the first place? if the makers were able to put it together, surely there must be some kind of technology that can run it xD

the game has a ton of design choices that make it feel clunky like an early 2000s game
might as well roleplay and pretend I'm back to the good old days
And unironically I'm having a ton of fun, a lot more than when I had fps drops while playing at 60 lmfao

This one hurt personally because I was actually hyped for a game for the first time in a while. That’ll teach me about getting my hopes up.
I got a 4090/14900k and run 100+fps at 4k everything maxed to the teeth. The only issue has been crashes (which is bad and needs to be fixed), but all this framerate complaining I don't understand at all.
I think it's mostly from people who haven't played the game and are just going by memes they see

I was thinking the exact same thing. I have an i7 13700k and a 3080 ti and I play maxxed everything+RT 4k resolution and I stay at 60fps only sometimes do I dip and even then its so small I barely notice

Those are all items you can buy in game. The mtx is just for people who don't want to. Capcom does it with alot of their games.

Game was shipped unoptimised intentionally. Upcoming patch will fix the high/irregular cpu usage and the game will run buttery smooth. Why the game was released in such poor state? Well it’s to deviate from all the micro transactions crap. You see, once the game (performance) is fixed in such short period just after release, everyone will start signing capcom praises and everything else will be forgotten. Kinda genius tbf..
it doesnt work that way. there's only so much you can do with optimization updates. no man's sky is once in a decade phenomenon and it doesnt have to do much with the game's performance

Wait, let me get this straight, they make a single player RPG where you cannot recreate a new character or play a new game? Not even a save file limit that games used to have in the 1990's, but literally only a single character per game copy? They are out of their minds. How would anyone pay money for this?

@Cukizx so far, I've seen only 2 Art of Metamorphosis available for purchase in-game, and that NPC's inventory doesn't seem to refresh, plus the 1 from the Deluxe Edition (which is paid). Unless Secret of Metamorphosis is floating around in-game, the amount of times you can re-customize is almost non-existent without MTX. If you have a secret to more, please let us know.

I set the graphic settings to 1/2 of my VRAM. It was fine on my i9/3080 TI laptop. Even in the cities it’s fine. The graphic settings show you how much VRAM you use. Try the 1/2 VRAM trick. If your setup is not too old (my i7/3070 desktop won't run it), it will run fine. I imagine "frame generation" takes alot of power. Try running DD2 without it.
