      @@AnotherCameraChannel Was a user of the ATEM 1m/e 4k in a fly pack for 10+ years. Was going to upgrade last year to a constellation 2m/e for the scaler inputs. But ended up going with an ATEM Extreme Mini SDI ISO because it was on sale and offered similar (and more) flexibility with outputs comparable to my old 1m/e. Built a neat 3ru flypack around it with the same sliding drawer, a blackmagic hyperdeck mini, 2x2 multiview, webpresenter HD and a neat custom patch panel on the rear. Combind with a built in 12v 4a power supply, 5 port switch and a couple of blackmagic bidirectional adaptors, gives me a rig with total 6 sdi+2 hdmi inputs and 2 sdi+2 hdmi outputs. Networking between components and for livebstreaming.
      Tried to design the rig to be as portable and flexible as possible as my work flow has generally been with SDI cameras.)
      So far working well for over a year I hope to make a video about it at some point.
      I still have the 1m/e rig. Would like to keep it as a backup rig but the main reason I had to bench it is because it did not play nice with PTZ cams I started using, thanks to its very strict and non-scalable inputs.
      I did invest in another little mixer however this year for backup and small run and gun productions. The AVMatrix Shark S4.

    • @nelsonzhang1369
      @nelsonzhang1369 Год назад +1

      Yeah the 4K seems a bit pointless. Basically just for the sake of saying it's streaming in 4K. The image will likely look worse than a high-bit-rate HD stream as it's trying to upscale it and high bitrate HD will always look much better than low bitrate 4K.

    Here are a few questions:
    Why did you put the fan on the front face of the unit (not the back)?
    What do you do for confidence monitoring?
    Why not have a built in rack mounted folding confidence monitor?
    Last, why did you go with that kind of flight case and not something with wheels?

    • @AnotherCameraChannel
      @AnotherCameraChannel  2 года назад +1

      Hello :)
      Because I’m always facing the front of the case and the back is pointing towards the onscreen talent, noise coming my way is less of an issue and I can change the controls quickly.
      I have a 27”/28” monitor in it’s own case that I use. For the talent I use several TVs.
      My rack is too shallow for large screens, mine is only 14” depth, some screens need 19”. And for the smaller flat panels that take up several RUs the quality apparently not good from the reviews I saw.
      And lastly, I’m putting this on a table with the draw pulled out for me to press the buttons.
      With wheels the case would sit way above the table height which would make the draw height uncomfortable, and in the style that I got, only the 10U and up had wheels, and I have an 8U case :)

    Hey, that was some serious build there. Got a question with regards to the power supplies. From the video @ 12:55 it looks like you have used one single power source to the 12v and then took from there to the 5v, am I correct with this assumption?... I am in the middle of building a similar rack and I seriously need to understand the power supplies set up. I will appreciate your advise or a link you can point out for me to check things out.

    • @AnotherCameraChannel
      @AnotherCameraChannel  3 года назад +1

      Yes! So the main power plug connects to the 12V power supply, and from the same terminals I am running wires to the 5V’s +, -, and Ground.
      The Apple TV’s are also connected this way as they convert mains power by themselves.
      Anything that needs 12V is connected to the output of the 12V power supply.
      And anything that needs 5V is connected to the output of the 5V power supply.
      Hope that helps :) 👍

      14A 5V - Mean Well LRS-75-5
      17A 12V - Mean Well LRS-200-12
      I could run the Extreme ISO and at least an extra Hyperdeck off it if I wanted to, but I don't atm.
      And for the 5V there's tons of head room, I didn't know if in the future I'd want more mini converters!

    Great build...
    Just wondering what would you do if you had more then 8 inputs at a go..
    Lets say.. 6 cameras..1 laptop media playing..the hyperdeck..and now lets say you need to add a clean zoom feed 🤔🤔

    • @AnotherCameraChannel
      @AnotherCameraChannel  2 года назад

      Unfortunately via inputs in the ATEM, we're limited to 8 only.
      So either, when the Zoom call happens, a camera needs to be sacrificed, or there needs to be a work around. A lot of it depends on what you want to show and when.
      Work arounds could include:
      1) using a second switcher, like a 4 input ATEM Mini Pro etc and having one of the cameras, probably the least used one as one of the inputs and then the output of the ATEM Mini Extreme into another input. Or putting the output of the smaller ATEM Mini into one of the Inputs of the Extreme and then connecting a couple of cameras to that smaller ATEM Mini and then choosing which one to show. Leaving the more important inputs on the main ATEM Extreme.
      2) Using something like OBS to bring in the extra source e.g.: the zoom call with some premade scenes + the USB Webcam out of the ATEM so it could still look good. Then outputting OBS to the Web Presenter or just streaming from OBS.
      It also really depends on what the Laptop Media and Hyperdeck are doing. If only one is only seen at one time, then there could be something there too.
      Hopefully 🤞 we get a 12 / 20 Input ATEM Mini Extreme / Rack mounted switcher or something like that. That would be awesome.
      Something between what we have now and the 8K Constellation would be perfect. 😅

    I would call it "beginners mistake" to let 'beauty' win from 'practical'. Please tell us what you think after 20 road gigs :) At first glance of your video I already felt my back :) I think it is virtually impossible to carry that flight case alone right? I estimate it weighs around 36Kg (80 pounds) maybe more. The case is heavy mainly because you want to make it all look good. A metal shelve and metal panels are adding a lot of weight. After 25 years on the road as a sound engineer, I turned video and made sure my set is as light as possible. Custom made light wood box as small as possible while still holding what I need. My biggest question: Where is the audio? I see a lot of "go on the road' sets on YoutTube but they never mention the audio part. So where is your audio part? But it sure does look very very pretty :)

    • @AnotherCameraChannel
      @AnotherCameraChannel  3 года назад +2

      You're probably right about weight, although I haven't tried weighing it yet, will let you know though.
      I've moved it around quite a bit, I can do it. Plus for long distances I have a cart.
      Audio is XR18 and X-Touch, I haven't made the video about that setup yet 😉
      Either they'll be in one case together, but then I'd probably need a 5U/6U, or I'd have a mini 3U box just for the XR-18 and then put the X-Touch in just something protective for transportation.

    It is not 4K streaming flight case! ATEM Mini can handel only full hd signal. So your whole signal line (including web presenter) is full hd. Not 4K.

      Web Presenter 4K upscales it at the end.

      @@AnotherCameraChannel it is still full hd signal. upscale, but still full hd. It is not full 4k resolution. To have full 4k you have to have camera with 4k output, mixer handel to receive 4k signal and 4k encoder.

      Yeah I know that...
      ..but RUclips receives a 4K stream so, it's still a 4K streaming flight case.
      Never said the full signal was 4K.
      Stop getting upset over the title not meaning what you want it to mean.

      @@AnotherCameraChannel Just because a chicken has wings doesn't mean it can fly like an eagle. You have one device in your case that can produce a 4K signal. This doesn't mean you're actually streaming in 4k. You output a 4k signal, but you don't achieve that quality. And yes, I have a problem against the title because it misleads the viewer.

    Such a deceiving title. You’re not streaming with the ATEM. Your streaming with the Web Presenter 4k, which is upscaling the 1080p image.
    The ATEM is just a video switcher in this setup, not the actual streaming encoder.

    A vMix-based streaming set up would be simpler, smaller, lighter, more capable.
