  • This video contains some wood turning to create a centering jig for your router base plate. This is a needed item when using routers for making dado's with an edge guide or when using a guide bushing for cutting dovetails on a dovetail jig. I made this one to fit a 1/2 inch collet but it could be modified to accommodate a 1/4 inch collet. With the funnel type profile it will work with almost every router base. Just make the widest portion slightly larger than the center hole of your router base plate. Keep in mind this piece is made of wood and can increase or decrease in size due to the humidity levels in your area. If your shop is climate controlled you may never have an issue. I would not recommend leaving it inserted in the routers collet. Be sure to hit the subscribe and like buttons for me. Thanks for watching
