I have this unit at my home studio along with others. It really sounds great! sounds rounder and wider not as “direct”as other pres. use that to an advantage when you want bigger rounder instruments or vocals.
In comparison with the full band AMS NEVE 1073OPX test you did, this one sounds like complete chaos. 🤪 The single tracks sounds ok. Cheers and thanks for your time and work,, 🍻😎👍
You're comparing this to a 4000.00 8 channel solid state pre... they are supposed to sound different u probably prefer the solid state sound that's a personal preference not a flaw with the unit.... God u people are so fucking pretentious...

I recently purchased one of these and love it. Beautiful song by the way. The impression I get from this recording is that the pre is on the darker side. Do you find that is the case or did you intentionally track it that way?

How do you like the Neumann headphones? I had them for test, very special tuning, I sent them back when I realized I couldn't use them for tracking my own vocals, to much low frequency resonance in my case.
How did you get the impression it’s a low quality piece of gear? I own some pricier Manley gear as well as many alternatives, this seems like it targeted a price point but certainly not poor quality!

Hey Phillip! :) thanks. There is no EQ, just automation and Reverb. There is the BX limiter on the master to help with overall level.
