Has Susan ever had her own cub?
No she used to be someone’s pet before she was abandoned in this troop
I dint think she has had her own , she should have I would think by now . I know she was a pet monkey and was abandoned , in the monkey park . Maybe the humans sterilized her ? Maybe she’s just an outlier , and therefore not considered part of the troop ? She could be rebelling . Although she taue a better care of the infants in her care then other malicious kidnappers like melody who I think is really evil , I think she too was ostracized from the troop , and when the moms convene together she reeks left out . I do think they know Susan has something wrong with her as they are cautious when approaching her to get babies back , they are careful she doesn’t harm the babies when they are trying to get babies back . And after they get them back , Susan is often seen trying to apologize or kiss the baby once they back in moms arms , Susan is sneakier , she gets the moms to trust them , by grooming them , them looks around and takes the babies , in a minute , but when she takes them I noticed she often lands with the babies next to groups of moms socializing with their babies , they either growl at her , to get away , or just let her sit with them , and I never see her dragging babies or stepping on them like melody does , she drags them bites them , steps on them tortures them , while Susan often plays with them , makes funny faces at them twirls around and softly gently , picks them up , never mean or violent . She does take chances with them sometimes , and she’s had at least one baby fall from a tree she was hiding in , only to reach the baby below too late , mom scooped them up and Susan followed her around genuinely upset , trying to see the baby was alright , she seems more like she’s traumatized , that’s why she often swings her head back and forth , and steals baby’s to fit in with other groups of mothers doing the same . She often grooms the same moms after she gives up their babies mostly having to grab them back , I’ve only seen one or two videos where Susan just released the babies without a fight . I’ve never seen melody do that . I’ve seen one video I thought was melody , with a cub , baby whatever , so I dint know if she’s sterilized or barren , that would make her kidnappings mean something more evil , where Susan just wants to belong . It’s weird to see all I kidnapper monkeys seen to be the same kind , and always seem to have the sane kind of helper monkey with them , same type , same age , weird . Like every villain has a sidekick . They both seem to be outsiders in the social heirarchy and maybe taking revenge .
I have wondered about why she hasn’t had her own yet too but think she should definitely have one by this time next year. If she hasn’t, then I would say there is definitely something going on. A female pigtail reaches maturity to mate around 3 years old. From what I understand she has been abandoned for about or almost two years. I also agree with what you said about the others maybe knowing something isn’t quite right with her. That might be why they approach her with caution when she has their infant to try to keep her from leaping off a building so carelessly. I think that also might be why they tend to give her grace instead of attacking her. They have grown to accept her but the only time I ever see her being the one who gets groomed is when two of them have teamed up to try to get a baby from her. Grooming helps build bonds so I would think she is kind of lonely. Being tolerated isn’t the same as actually being included. I wonder if any of the males ever try to approach her. If they have, I haven’t ever seen it in a video. There’s no telling what her life was like when she was a pet
By the way, whatever happened to melody? I’ve seen old clips of her and see people mention her whenever there’s a video of Susan but I haven’t seen anything recent of her
