I've been waiting for a video like this on the zv6's. Thank you JP!! I recieved my salt 8 from you this past Saturday waiting to be hooked up. I was thinking about the nsv5 15's to go with my amp. But those zv6 motors are sexy as hell, I think I just decided on what I'm getting!
I bet they sound great.... the only problem is paying 800-900 bucks for one 12" woofer is absolutely insane. So once you buy a box for it, a decent amp to power it and the wires and cables, on the low end you're going to be spending about $2500... I would say your Average Joe doesn't have $2500 laying around to drop down on a system. Hell, I've had a sound system in my car ever since I was able to drive and I've never spent that much. Don't get me wrong, if you have that kind of cash to spend on a sound system, then go for it. I bet it's worth it.... Im just saying thats probably out of the price range of quite a few people looking to upgrade their system.
I'd go with the Zv6, I like the wide mouth Ti and 4" coil in theory, However the SD tooled basket I think is better and I do not know if the 3" vs 4" coil truly matters that much (Jacob has explained why the team has been the only 4" coil hes made but I cant recall atm), and with the motors top and bottom plate design as well as the gap cooling and 1 more slug the Zv6 I think would be louder and better sounding. thats of course IMO
I got the zv5, I got the nsv5 now I picked it over the zv6... I seen where a zv6 failed from a glue issue so that turned me away so I got the nightshade instead but I really wanted the zv6 I like the big motor better then the nightshade motor
I don't blame you, aesthetics wise I can not stand the NSv4 or NSv5 motor, Everyone asks if I am going to upgrade to one of them from my NSv3s and I refuse because the motor lol.
I went with 2 nsv5 15 over the zv6 because of the motor because I wanted that neo motor I think its beautiful. Plus the power of the neo motor is unmatched.
Exactly...... why's everyone so eager to buy top dollar flagship subs but buy the most budget amp . Like a Ferrari with a Ford Focus 2 liter engine trying to go 0 to 100 in 2.5 seconds 😆. Probably possible but it's for sure going to blow out fast .
@@thomasnew8606 I own a Subaru and this is probably the biggest I can go without having issues with space in it. I play the double bass so space is somewhat limited. It’s a mini goal in prospects to my other goals. Just a stepping stone until I can build a big system in a different vehicle
Wish I could figure out how to make a custom adapter so I could run multiple alternators but there zero support out there for running a huge system in a Subaru

It's not cheaping out running SFB or SIA they are only cheaper due to cost of labor being cheap. Take same components and same manufacturing process in another country like US and price goes up. Another huge benefit is space saving can't always fit a Salt or any large amp in space available.
Would like to see the power handling different between the zv6 and nsv5. I have 2 12” Nsv5 on a taramps bass 8k at 1 ohm and it’s not nearly enough to max out these subs. 3000w rms is an extremely low rms rating

different top and bottom plate, X comes in a 8" and I don't think that is possible with the Zv5 motor (of course besides inverting only) but that tells you width difference as well. Both have 16 cooling holes lol.
The new Crescendo amps in my opinion are better amps than salt amps. Own each Crescendo bassclef 6 and a salt 6 and have to say crescendo hands down in terms of power

I was wondering I just got back in to basing in my car I have a JL w-7 ae running on an rd1000 .1 my car dumps good but I paid way more for what I bought than what the sundown is going for and I never heard of it till just a short time ago. So is my JL as good or should I just sell it and grab some of these products thanks

Biggest reason for running full bridge from a competitive standpoint is the effeciency ratings. You’re forced to run at 1 ohm. After rise my voltage is very similar on 4 aab 7900s to where it was with 1 salt 8k at half. Same exact electrical. I will never run Korean again.
i agree the cost savings is great the output is great i mean it makes sense there alot cheaper it needs half the components as a half-bridge love my sfb 13.5k holds the same voltage as a ampere 7500 wired at 1 ohm each same build just swapped amps went from a 152.5 to a 155.1
Efficiency drops drastically below 1 ohm. In fact if you had the cash and room to run at 1.5 or 2 ohms you can get 90+% efficiency on them full bridge brazilians.. crazy high efficiency. So yeah your point makes alot of sense I never thought about tit like that.. most people buying half bridge korean are expecting to run less than 1 ohm which murders your efficiency.
Yes I did a direct swap from Xv2s to Zv6s and zv6s performance is much better in same enclosure 4th order now I have SDDNs with black spiders and expoxy cones

My box is 3.2 cubes, tuned at 28hz, originally for a x15v2. I've got a Zv4d2 15 in it now on an scv3k. Father's day I get a salt6. 390 amp alt/3 d3400 xs batteries/3runs 0fc 1/0 power/3runs 1/0 ofc ground. No more room in the trunk. It's maxed out. Question is, will a zv5 or a zv6 be OK in a seemingly small 3.2 cube box? The zv4 isn't going to last forever, would like to upgrade if it's feasible
Salt 6, Since it is a 8k(they are just bigger amps labeled lower for lower voltage rating) ,but that is if you have the option, a Taramps Bass 8k will suffice as long as you have strong electrical and that goes for both. My 2 cents

Much cheaper, for roughly 8k i would go at least 64Ah maybe 80Ah which is roughly $400 for cells, $30 for a balancer, $20 for monitor, $250 for bussing, no need to run dedicated electrical. $700 compared to what, $1200? Or they go up more?
You want to find or build a low end sub box for them 2 which I have built one with a 6 inch BIG ASS AREO PORT. I call it little thump-er reaching low lows for days.

For a daily build I would run the 4 ohm zv6s at 1 ohm. But for a more weekend build I'd do the 2 ohm subs at .5 ohms

Absolutely price you know the zv5 was good Shane there not on the market but for sure zv6 along side a zv5 will sound nice

Salt 6, Since it is a 8k(they are just bigger amps labeled lower for lower voltage rating) ,but that is if you have the option, a Taramps Bass 8k will suffice as long as you have strong electrical and that goes for both. My 2 cents
