I absolutely understand you Artur. I've had to deal with heavy depression for almost 25 years now. It's a constant struggle. All the world's problems such as this war doesn't make it easier on anyone. But I choose to be aware, and not to look away or be ignorant on them. Everything comes at a price in life. Which is why it's priceless to have friends and folks who understand each other. Which I consider this channel to be, since I found it some 2 years ago. SLAVA UKRAINI @Artur Rehi, and thank you to you and to Artur's Army, for all the support & work all of u guys put into this 💙💛💙💛🙏🙏🙏

Well said, you are not alone either in the illness or in your decision to not look away from this awful conflict.
I’m a farmer, not a large landowner but a small acreage farmer with some pretty average to poor land, a flock of around 250 sheep and a few other livestock, some fields that I lock up in the spring to make hay later on and a couple of fields that I grow veg in to sell from the farm gate.
In some way staying fully aware of the struggle that Ukrainians face every day in preserving their homeland, refusing to accept occupation, is such a stark and visceral reminder of how fortunate I am that it puts my own inner troubles into perspective.
It helps me to gain a better sense of proportion about what is actually important in life.
Not the petty irritations, not the frustration of finding what I might see as a problem when in truth it is nothing out of the ordinary, not the self-defeating feeling of inability when one is actually completely competent.
Those things are just artifacts of depression, they do not exist except in my mind and when I become aware of them now I think, “how does that stack up against what another farmer like myself, on the other side of Europe, is dealing with?”
Another man just like me but who is also fighting to defend his family and the land that he loves like I love my own.
That reminds me that anything can happen and probably will, but facing a struggle doesn’t define what is possible, it’s how you face the struggle that makes the difference between success and failure, or at very least the gaining of the knowledge that will lead to a better outcome tomorrow.
      Slava Ukraini!

I remember a study that found that depressed people are actually more realistic than mentally healthy people. So the solution to depression is to focus more on your internal goals and dreams instead of letting any outside circumstances drag your mental health down. Keep on fighting the good fight brother, it might just as well get better eventually.

Same here. The more we focus on the challenges and the dark parts of this world, the more we open ourselves to depression triggers. I've been taking anti-depressants for years now and they do help me - sometimes more, sometimes less. I wish Artur a speedy recovery. It is a debilitating condition, just like a broken arm or foot is! But a load shared is a load halved.

Self accusations aren't doing anything good.
      Self forgiveness does miracles.
It's not easy to love oneself, when you hate what YOU see in the mirror. Other people, intelligent people, see something different.
Turn to the person they see in you (whether you believe them or not), and say, at least THINK a couple of supportive words three - four times a day. It's a good start.

I myself am 71 years old and have been depressed for a long time taking Zolofts and Victans with ups and downs, since these last 40 years... Since my 1st wife died,(40 years ago,, when we - both me and her we were 30 years old)and even having married again twice, I never fully recoverd. Lately I am retired From my work of associate prof. of the school of sciences of the University of Porto - Portugal, I have devoted my time to following the Ucranian war and to fly ultralights in the weak ends.. I must admit that the recent news of Ukranian losses, have taken a toll on me and I have been getting a little more depressed. But, we must keep our morale high...!!! In the bottom of my heart, I know Ukraine shall prevail and Putin shall finish in the graveyard (maybe even killed by his own soldiers....). Keep up the good spirit and thanks for your Ukraine work. Niklas, not to be disrespectful or anything depression isn't that simple. His depression isn't going to go away because the war is no longer on. If it was that simple most people would only suffer from depression for a while. It's a lifelong struggle that you have good days and you have bad days regardless of what's going on around you. We just need to be understanding and supportive of him. And I am sure you're trying to be and I compliment you for that. But like I said you don't ever get over depression you just learn to cope with it.

At times it feels like monster is literally beating you over the head with something, as it feeds on you energy and any attempts to fight it & gets heavier & heavier- bigger & bigger and the worst part is no one else can see the monster on your back, it's invisible to everyone else, so they just make assumptions about you....they either think you're lazy or think you can magically make the sad go away by thinking happy thoughts! HA! hadn't though of that here let me try....happy..happy, joy..joy..no......ugh, the toxic positivity is worse that the criticism for me, personally. I'm really Glad you Talk about it!!! But above all you don't have to be a beaming ball of sunshine while you're talking about a war....it's war, it's neither happy or pretty, and things haven't been gear for a but now, and my country was to blame- it made me sick to my stomach to watch the support that was so desperately needed be stalled by those...people for the lase 7 months while the others also weakly. I can't even count how many petitions I singed how many letters I sent asking to get support sent...every week....knowing that everyday people are dying or being maimed, it's been sol crushing... so I really don't blame you for feeling down after 7 months of horrible news ...just please take care of you if you need to take a break for your health you know your fans have your back, we cae about you& your health. Don't be so hard on yourself. It's pretty normal to be depressed about what you're seeing - even on meds. You are greatly invested mentally, physically and emoionally in this. Eat regularly, exercise, get plenty of sleep, don't drink much, pet someone's dog, talk to a child and do activities that get you out of your head. These won't fix you but will help bolster you as you go through this time. Prepare your heart for things to get worse but don't lose hope things will get better.

One of the things nobody seems to be talking about. The US is getting real world experience out of this. It's been a long, long time since the US fought a war against an enemy that had similar weaponry.
The gulf wars, Iraq, Afghanistan, even Vietnam they severely outclassed the enemy.
They're getting to see what their weapons would actually do against a rival. And adjust accordingly.
Strategically and even financially (when you look at the jobs increase and the money being funnelled back into the US economy), this war is gold for the US. Helping Ukraine win should be a number one priority for every NATO country

    • @TheFrewah
      @TheFrewah Месяц назад +24

💯 This is something I often point out to those that feel that supporting Ukraine is bad. Nato can learn a lot and I’m sure we do. My country, Sweden, is now a member of nato and I’m pretty sure all kinds of log files are sent back and that the Ukrainians add what they can. It’s not just the US that benefits from this.

Artur keep hanging in there! I have depression and it sucks. All I can say is to keep taking the medication, keep noting that there are many of us like you, and remember there are many others worse off than us. Some days I just stay in bed as I cannot face the world. If you have any hobbies take time for them and try to keep yourself grounded with closer experiences with the natural world like playing with pets and observing flowers and trees, walking barefoot in the rain or in the water, on the beach. Visit the zoo. Interact with small children too - their innocence and the way they see the world is a refreshing help. Learn some jokes and take time to share them with others. This has helped me many times. By giving someone else a laugh you will surprisingly lift your own spirits. Try to accomplish at least one task a day and at the risk of seeming to preach, tell the "Man upstairs" what you really feel. God bless you and your channel, you are much valued friend. Be encouraged, you are absolutely allowed to feel depressed.
    Garry from Melbourne, Australia.

@Artur Rehi Regards the depression, I have it REALLY bad, I’ve been knocked down totally for 7 years now. I’m so happy that you talk about it as there’s no shame to be had, if anything I think of myself if I wasn’t as tough mentally as I am (ex UK Para which is our special forces airborne) I was in the former Yugoslavia, Bosnia, Kosovo, Iraq, Afghanistan & Northern Ireland & more but 5 years after I got out I was a workaholic but all of a sudden boom, it laid me out where I’m bed ridden, I can’t afford my mortgage n I don’t know what to do. I live in eternal fear & always get overwhelmed by all & anything negative in life. I hope that you keep fighting it as I don’t want to see you go down with it. Prayers & goodwill to you always & good luck with your Ukraine trip. Remember that RUclips needs you lol n your followers need you u. Best of luck. Mark from 🇬🇧 England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 one last thing, try Lyrica or Pregabalin for depression, I take it just at times when I’m really bad n it can make u feel normal for upto 24 hours after each dose but for me it only helps for a few days n then I have to stop it for a week as ur body gets used to it n then take it again. It can help on those bad days.

I realize very well what feeling depressed or ptsd feels like. You have been informing us very well. If needed you have to take a break, because that with a burn out is worse. I understand the little girl with her cat very well. I have a small dog who likes to go shopping with me. Everytime I leave the shop, he makes something like 5 dances around me because we love each other. I need to keep his leach above my head not to get strangled in the wire. Of course people seeing this have a big smile on their face. I watch yours and other’s video’s whenever I can. Slava Ukraine, victory to the heroes ❤
