I sometimes think Setsuna is as much of a troll as Azama is. I believe she knows when they are trying to insult her, but she is too confident she just plays the fool to annoy them. Either way, I love her.

didn't she grow up in a privileged family which caused her to be extremely bored and lifeless because she was tired of things being handed to her so she was unable to feel a sense of accomplishment and therefore when she felt into a trap she felt thrill and wanted to become a retainer because it was dangerous so she could fulfill the feeling of being thrilled or feeling something

She has immense composure due to her fluidity, and her ability to block out anything as a distraction allows a greater concentration. This concentration leads to her skill with the bow. The bow is why Hinoka sought after her.
Well I think they certainly had a lot of ones this time around meh I just like have a lot of dialogue between characters it is actually my favorite aspect in the game
In my first revelation file Niles married Setsuna and I got a GREAT Nina, one of my best children, I also paired them in my second file because that Nina was way too good.
when I played revelations I paired Niles with Setsuna simply because of their support conversation, it was very amusing to find someone for Niles that he can't insult and actually find them interesting and special. luckily Nina resemble her mother Setsuna in one way or another, she's also like you said a complete BEAST on the battlefield. seriously, the gal just turned her enemies to ashes, danced on them and proceded to fantized her yaoi scenario's about the fallen corpses! that shit was scary, tell ya what!
Setsuna is happy whenever somebody "compliments" (insults) her, and that makes me wonder how happy she would be if someone were to actually compliment her. Maybe she would mishear the compliment as an insult, that would be pretty hilarious.
I know I'm 10 months late, but I always thought she is happy, because somebody cared enough to compliment (insult) her and that the intention behind their words didn't matter.
