Do yourself a big favor and be patient and don't rush into buying everything/the newest. You won't believe the deals you will stumble upon and witness it yourself.
It shocked me as well, and the satisfying win of getting it so cheap that you almost think it's a scam. I've felt it and it felt so good to collect manga that way!

Def try manga digitally for sure. I tell people this all the time and they ignore me LOL. Read and buy what you can handle 100% I also have the 100+ ongoing and it has not affected me yet. But I drop things all the time so it grows slow and gets chopped down. People need to hear not to have a big tbr so they know and then they will figure out what they can handle. I will say having a big tbr has helped me figure out real fast what super mid or crap stuff I was reading and made it easy to drop them lol.

tip number 1--absolutely agree! i'm assuming it's controversial with those who have a negative outlook on digital in that you don't "own" the chapters you read. but within the last year or so, i totally changed my tune re: digital manga. more official manga/hwa/hua apps have made it so easy to read digitally at an affordable price (or even free!). so i started going there first bc i've definitely gotten overwhelmed by my own physical collection. and i also found that if a series was enjoyable but not something i would ever reread, reading digitally was good enough for me rather than having a series take up space on my shelves for it to have only been read once and now collecting dust. i've been burned by trying one-shots and a variety of longer series to find that one read through was all i needed lol. this kinda blends into tip number 3 that i also agree with. collecting so many ongoing series is rough. aside from the amount of space it could potentially require and being worried the story might take a nosedive, there are so many stories and details and characters to remember. i've paused a lot of ongoing series and just keep up with ones i know i want to read as soon as it comes to my door. anyways, awesome tips! 🥰

I definitely agree with your third point; I'm glad you've come around to giving each story more attention. Personally I find that I can enjoy only around two or three stories simultaneously and I am intentional about having them be distinctly different genres. Having one be, for example, a dark fantasy and the other be a lighthearted romance keeps the details from both stories organized in my head. It also allows me to rest from one story with the other should I desire.

Great video! I definitely check out a few chapters digitally before buying a volume that I’m on the fence about. 😊

Additionally to point one: If, like me, reading manga digitally strains the heck out of your eyes or you just don't like digital, you can almost certainly get the manga through your library. It's a great way to try out series physically before you buy it! If it's a series with multiple versions, you can usually find the different volumes to compare so you know which one you would like to purchase :)
    Great video again!

Watch out for bootleg manga, bigger isn't better, read digital first, manga is expensive, have a spreadsheet to keep track of what you have in order to avoid duplicates, buy single volume stories to dip your toes in

Man am I jealous of your Twin Spica volumes, I am having such a rough time with the aftermarket of that series, I've never had such bad copies of a series sent to me as this one.

@@profotaku Are they library editions as well? I've managed to get decent ish on like 3 volumes from Ebay. Every other has been poorer than listed and I'm having to send them back for refunds... From NZ to US 😞 only one I haven't seen so far is volume 11. It's somehow harder to collect than any other OOP title I've collected.

I love the opening! 🤣🤣🤣 it’s interesting because recently I went to go buy used volumes of Kakuriyo, but the buy new volumes really were only $1-2 more then getting ex-library copies! 😱 Also I do the same if trying things digitally because manga is not cheap to buy and so I’m like it’s critical I try it out first! 🤣 Great video!

thing is, I read a lot and a bitch is poor lmao. Given that you can buy a brand new volume from Amazon and still have it show up with bananas shelf wear, I am all about paying 60-70% off cover price even if it gets me a library book. As a reader more than a collector, I can only think of once or twice they've shown up in unreadable condition out of hundreds I've bought, and the majority of them have honestly been quite good once I get the stickers off. You do you but could not be me 😂

Perfect well heeled experience you were there with me in the horrible 2020 coronavirus supply shortages and scalpers charging $80 for a key volume in the 31 volume Slam Dunk I've never recovered from the angst of twenty plus volume runs scalpers ruined so much even the One Piece boxed sets I remember $600 that's IF anyone was selling most were lucky to have them I paid double for Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z in coronavirus lock downs $300 each not motivated to read them honestly I just enjoyed and still enjoy the few remaining experienced content producers . I'm not good at selling what I don't want and I have a huge surplus of JoJos I'll never read the series just died on the vine for me .
