My first mistake was was trying to tame an alpha raptor thinking it was a regular raptor
I did this, never reading anything about ark and thought "ohh a glowing red raptor"

The first time I played it was with my friends who were experience players so they game me a heads up about stuff like that.

Spinosaurus: yooo look at this FEAST!!! parasaurs, carbonemys, dilophosaurus, and dodos and even this tiny looking ripoff of me with no sail
Man, ark really gives you no tutorial or any explanation, it just throws you into the game bare naked with no knowledge of ANYTHING. Leaves it all up to you to figure it out for yourself. That makes it so hard to get started when your new lol, who else almost quit the game at the beginning b/c you had no idea what to do. 🤣
First time I played this with my bf, I hated it because I couldnt figure anything out and didnt play for quite a while because I didnt like it but once I started figuring out how things work, I fell in love with it lol still have A LOT to learn but it's still a really good game once you get into it

I biggest mistake is try to make base on swamp
it happened when i saw a level 500 pteradon and i was trying to tame it then i did not know my dinos where on attack target so they killeld it
After about 10 minutes in ark, I had pretty much figured out that dodos are the only thing that won’t maul you to death if you give them a hug

When I first started, I didn't do any of these epcept trying to find where I belong on the food chain by attacking whatever, which I don't think was a mistake because it allowed me to know what to attack and what not to attack.

That is happend to me when I was playing with my friend guess we lost all our dinos because of that
I did the same, luckily, I knew that running around the safe areas, that bronto wouldn't be able to keep up with me xD and he just forgot about me, when I lost him

Can’t you get a slingshot at that time? A few slingshots, a lot of stone, a cliff and some patience can get you a bronto. Just probably not a high level one
I’m max level and I kill t Rex’s all the time but if I see a bronto I abandon my base and my pets, leave, never come back, NEVER engage, and if I do engage, I die
Luke The Evolved Survivor --- ------- thats actually strange. Try ( if you want) a battle between a bronto with an argy ! They are really powerful !

@@T4509LAM I can kill a bronto easily at lvl 50. Just go far into the water and shoot it with a gun. It doesn't even come after you lol. (With an Ichy at least)

All of us didn’t, we just learned it in tutorials
One of my worst moments as a noob was when I started playing with my friend. He was actually good at the game and got us a good base with good games and items. He made friends on the server and one of them gave us 5 rock drake eggs on a rag server when neither or us had abberation so we couldn’t get it any other way. He said I could have the second best one because it was just me and him and 3/5 were pretty low level and only those two were high. So I got the egg out and I tried to put it in the air conditioners, and I pressed the wrong button, and ate it. -_-
TLDR: I ate my tribes second best rock drake egg on a rag server

I didn't think you could eat fertilized eggs.
I remember when I was new and the first time I saw in egg it was a rex and it was unfertilized so I tried looking up videos and I put a bunch of campfires trying to hatch it, waited an hour and realized I couldn't hatch it :(

I did this when I started but someone told me in chat to fertilise the egg so I was running around to wild trikes with the egg trying to make it fertilised

Ferret TV. It’s called, an anky, chemistry set, something to get flint, make sparkpowder, turn it to gunpowder, make a longneck rifle from metal from Anky, and use ur Dino’s to get darts and rifle ammo. That’s how t get a long neck.

I remember my noob days I found a non fert raptor egg and tried to hatch it also didn't know what metal nodes were so I mined river rocks after like 5 days I finally made a simple pistol and thought I was god because of it lol

My biggest mistake was opening a beaver dam! Took my time picking the cementing paste and mushrooms and next thing I realize theres 20 beavers munching my back

Might've been a little helpful to include some tips alongside each of the mistakes
1. Check the water before crossing a river/stand at the edge to kill piranhas with a spear
2. Always carry a parachute on you to avoid dying from cliffs
etc.
I still do the noob mistake stuff, aka crossing the river without checking
I already got my 10 male carno by those piranhas.. and yes... I was about to breed one.
Add: "Making characters with high disproportional limbs" to the list, super noobish.

The design of your character is freaking hilarious xD And watching this video now after playing ARK for years is so funny. I think I did a few things too when I first started and know nothing about what I was doing. Going into a cave at lvl 10 or so wasn't the best idea. It is one of those many things I just learned the hard way. xD

You can get rid of leeches by walking into a lit campfire Then go to water to stop burning and the leeches get off
Or you can just pull them off yourself

Then the leeches go back on you it you go in water
When I first saw a theri I thought it was friendly unless it attacked. I died.
I was on my parasaur that took me so long to grind for the saddle and lost everything to a theri.
I have done like 60% of these mistakes already and watching this video probably just saved me from doing another 30%.
When I first started playing ark I was trying to tame a peteroodon and for some reason it wasn't working, so I asked my older brother what to do and he said: "feed it the white berries" and I hated him ever since

I mean, there isn't really a list, there are hundreds of points noobs do wrong and the only real way to get around them is with expirience. Perhaps the most important though is not going after the better tames that can be used to expand quikly.

My biggest noob mistake I'd say is just not knowing all the fastest ways to get around the interface. I play on ps4 and I played for about a year before someone told me that the square button brings you straight to a targets inventory

I got a treehouse in the redwoods by a lake (wanted to breed water tames, so made sure to be close to water.) I could just jump from my base into the little breeding pool. I severely underestimated how big water tames get tho, lol
