I wanted to add that you should always wear proper p.p.e., this case being hardhat, safety glasses, fire resistant suit, mouth guard, ear protection, leather work gloves, steel toe or composite toe footwear, etc. Also orange safety cones should always be used, even if at home taking measurements, as well as a spotter both of you utilizing hand signals, up to date with local osha compliance. It is important to always practice safe work habits as your safety and the safety of others is of the utmost importance.

Something to add.... when zeroing our your tool always make sure the surfaces are clean.
