In my opinion, Kirk Hammett checked out musically around 1997. I don't think he's given a shit since then..
all makes sense except...he's not new to this song. he did a solo on it before (in the right key i mean generally) there is a version with metallica jeff beck flea joe perry from maybe 10 years ago so maybe he forgot.
Kirk was just playing the Lil Wayne scale.
With a Fred Durst sus 3.
He's human. I play wrong notes all day long and nobody bats an eye.
Yeah, it's the kind of sloppy conclusion someone would have if they walked into a bar blues jam and didn't know the key and just took the "root" chord of the progression. But it actually doesn't sound that off or jarring. It's not like he was doing Fm pentatonic. I've always found some of his notes "off" in his solos and it's part of his style. But yeah, he should have noticed.
Can I just also say how great Imelda May sounds on this? Her early rockabilly style really works well here.
He may have had his own sound too loud compared to the rest of the band, therefore masking the chords that he was playing over so not noticing the level of horrid dissonance that he was causing. How's that for a theory?
I'm sure he did it BOTH nights.
That's gold 😂
Hahaha!! Omg your reaction to coming away from it.. 😂😂😂 i have to agree with you theory on it. The resolve of the riff definitely is in a strange timing and place.Kirk is a great player, always will be. But as musicians we all have our moments where we play unintentional things that dont necessarily fit to the music. Even tho to us at the time it sounds like it fits while we are playing it. Which that is why i think people wanted to bash this moment in particular. We all have our off days. Poor kirk tho.
"Kirk is a great player, always will be". Well, no other way about it. You're either deaf, dumb or plain stupid. Which one is it because to write what you did, you're one of those. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and go with deaf. You're deaf aren't you?
This guitar
wants Gary Moore back😊
Not buying your explanation, sorry, just by playing the chords throughout the song he should have known the tune is in E! And he played the same out of key solo on the second night as well!!! According to the internet the guy is worth $200 million, I assume made thanks to his career in music...there is NO excuse for fucking up that bad when you're in that type of position
I think he thought they said GMinor
