    I am stand for celebrating this day. Is a event to celebrate love and erotism a desire that allows human being to create art and encourage to create new ideas,poetry, paints, arquitecture and other things which allows the human progress. It is worth saying that Freud pointed out about the difference between eros and Thanatos, the former develops positive desires and the latter burst negative desires such as pain, death and so forth.

    ▶ For only sweethearts and lovers
    ▶Terrible day for singles because they don't have lovers
    ▶ Singles buy their own chocolates and eat their selves
    ▶Every boys should give presents for their lovers or else they will break their hearts and legs
    🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
    That's why I hate Valentine's day , I'm single , if I have my love one 🥰 I will be enjoy at that day🤣

    Valentine was a bishop who was born in a town named Terni these days in the centre of Italy precisely in Umbria region. Legend says that he was killed by Aurelian Emperor in 273 B.C. because he had celebrate a marriage between a christian woman and a pagan soldier. There are two of three idioms exactley equal in Italian: old flame and love at first sight. Here in Italy, the 14th of February is a day of lovers, only for lovers. Not generally but specifically. Thank you not only for being a romantic person but also for your romantic and effective way of teaching English in an original way. Thanks a lot. You always achieve the target. Claudio from Rome. ❤ ❤

    Studying this Valentine 's Day video reminds me how talented and prolific the British lyric writers are in writing these utterly romantic love songs, true Casanovas, probably the most romantic lovesong writers in the world.
    Geniuses like Chris the Burgh , with his " Lady in Red " , Elton John with his famous "Blue eyes " song (and Nikita song) and Freddy Mercury with " I was born to love you " , inspire us to write lyrics for our own sweetheart .
    Nothing compares to sitting behind the piano and play like an Elton John for your darling. And together with Elton John we all dream away thinking of you , Katharine , staring in your mesmerizing blue eyes which are a signature in your videos, eyes like a deep blue sea , on a blue blue day ...

    ~~~~~The Lion In Love ~~~~~~
    My dear Katharine, whose the appeals
    Serve as models for the Graces,
    And who was born graceful and fair,
    Pristine and ethereal air,
    Deign me the favour of your ear;
    Let no alarm move your bosom,
    While you this harmless story hear
    Of a lion vanquished by love.
    Love is a tyrant o'er the heart
    Happy they pass their lives away,
    Who only know what those impart
    Who are the victims of his sway ;
    To you, perhaps, no welcome lay.
    Though I the fact may not unfold,
    At least a Fable may be told :
    This therefore I present to you,
    From grateful zeal so justly due.
    In days of old, when beasts could speak,
    Lions with others came to seek
    Society with the human race,
    And gain our fair to their embrace.
    Why not ? their race then equalled ours
    In courage, strength, reason's powers.
    They had besides a flowing mane ;
    But let me here the tale explain:
    A lion of great lineage born,
    Passing a certain mead one morn,
    A pretty peasant maiden spied,
    And asked to have her for his bride.
    Her dad with dread the lion saw,
    He'd wished a milder son-in-law!
    He was embarrassed how to choose ;
    ’Twas hard to grant, refuse?... Harmful!
    Let alone, one might some morn' see
    A marriage made clandestinely.
    The maid liked men with martial air,
    And doted on his shaggy hair.
    The Sire soon did this discover,
    And dared not dismiss her lover,
    So mildly to the suitor said :
    “ My daughter's delicately made,
    And you might hurt her with your paws ;
    File down your teeth, and pare your claws ;
    And she, it cannot be gainsaid,
    Will take your kisses with less fright,
    And give you hers with more delight!”
    The willing lion soon lay down ;
    They pared his claws, his teeth they filed.
    So easily is Love beguiled !
    He looked like a dismantled town.
    Dogs were let loose on him amain,
    His poor resistance was in vain...
    0 Love ! 0 Love ! when you hold us
    We can well say: Farewell Prudence!
    J. De La Fontaine ('Le lion amoureux')
    Dear Katharine; I like your videos very much, and I have a question for you today.
    I have noticed that you sometimes have used a plural pronoum after a singolar one. In my language (Italian) never happens. For example (2.05) “to show the ONE you love, you love THEM, and (4.40) “you see someone and immediately fall in love with THEM”
    Is that because you speak in general and you don’t specify if the person is male or female?
    • @englishwithkatharine
      @englishwithkatharine  Год назад
      Ah yes - we use the plural to refer to them/the person sometimes! Quite common 😀
    So in my opinion love is definitely a great feeling to show to our loved one I don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day because it’s related at Christian religion and I am Muslim however I agree nowadays it becomes a commercial day so we shouldn’t accept to be ripped off.
