- This is a simple training demonstration of the Notifier NFS2-3030 with DVC. I basically walk the customer through the main functions of the system along with the different types of signals and how to respond to each one. No fire alarm activation in this video, just informational.
Regardless if it's a false alarm, building must be evacuated either or... every alarm should be placed as a serious emergency...
Correct. Unless if it is a drill or posted notice. Testing a building today a kid was just about to ran out of the building in PJ's and gym shoes on hand. I told him "this is just a test", the kid started crying. He asked? what should I do? I said, this is only a test of the fire alarm system, just go back to your apartment. Sad, but true.

Only three manual pull stations in a building with 7 floors? In the UK a manual call point (our equivalent to a manual pull station) is required at every entrance to a staircase, and at every final exit. Additionally, a person should not have to travel more than 45 meters to reach a manual call point (25 meters if the person who will be operating the manual call point is likely to be disabled, or if rapid fire development is likely).
Same here in canada, any exit of a fire zone. there should be minimum 14 pulls in that place. Assuming two staircases.
I believe he meant there's only 3 that will trigger a full evacuation of all floors. The rest will only evacuate the closest 3 floors.
jayja45 same in India. MCPs, hooters, speakers, talk back points on the exit ways of the floor.
In the US, if a building is fully sprinklered, you actually don't need a pull station at all.

why I can turn off the strobes?
I'm a security officer in charge of one of these systems. Recently the system started giving us an error when we attempt to acknowledge an alarm. It gives us 'Function Locked Out' and we're unable to acknowledge anything. Has this happened to anyone and how do we sort it out?

also, how can three devices set a whole building into evac if all the others do fire floor, floor above, and floor below?
LTCWM1 it's all done through programming. you can use groups, zones or devices via boolean logic statements to do virtually anything.
Kyle J. Schuler, SET, that's interesting. I've never heard that or read about that before. Do other panels do that? I mean like the simplex 4100, Edwards, does firelite even do that?
The 4100ES, EST3, and the Gamewell-FCI E3 can certainly do that, as they are all large addressable panels. But I think since Fire-Lite makes panels for much smaller installations, you may not be able to do that.

put your glasses on, that's a lame Notifire/Honeywell. A Simplex panel is nowhere near as ugly and confusing to the owner/end user. Simplex panels are unquestionably the finest fire detection panels, although not the cheapest.
@@yilancio simplex is garbage man it's nowhere in sight nobody wants to spend so much money on something that will do that same thing and may even have more features

Kyle, being that this is a central station alarm system, whose job is it to know AHJ/local fire codes on silencing alarms?

I would say both the installer and the end user. Check with the local AHJ to get their standards on this practice.

He said no real outsource training he learned on the job with the old timers but he got his nicet one and two at simplex. And guys with 30 and 40 years in the field taught him kitchen hoods FM 200 fire extinguishers he learned on the job
w is a loop number versus a zone number?
Loop number is the actual devices number while a zone is a group a point on a loop could be assigned
