What scares me is that some of these changes could be pretty good. I like the idea of Cassidy being able to place bounties on enemies for some sort of benefit.

Wouldn't be the first time it's happened. The Dva call mech ult change was so popular they put it in the main build shortly after.

Zarya having a shared cooldown for both bubbles instead of separate cooldowns for self-bubble and teammate-bubble originated as an april fool's experimental patch in ow1

so blizz gave flats, somjuu, and the other streamer i forgot his name some fun shit and gahd it made ow1 fun

The tesla cannon chaining to enemies was super cool. Noticed it yesterday and thought it was an update i had somehow missed.
new reaper shotgun is actually so good though, requires precise timing to reliably rapid fire or you hit both and delete someones cranium, this better be the reaper rework they had in the oven with a resource based wraith form.

The Mauga balance patch is 10/10, should stay in the game
The funny thing about the Moira change is how instead of just switching the primary and secondary fire, it changes their functions while keeping their properties the same. Moira's secondary now locks onto teammates and heals them, and the spray damages enemies as fast as it usually heals teammates.
Today I learned Mauga is a problem regardless of whatever size he is.
With the Ashe change they didn’t actually change bob, they added an extra ability on mouse scroll called Fred that you can use at any time
It's really weird that he didn't notice. Or have mouse scroll bound??

As fun as that would be you know a lot of Overwatch players would take that to heart. Last year Seagull for the april 1st patch he said something along the lines of “they added all the abilities from the scrapped skill trees because they see it as a joke.”

I just had a thought. Try imagining viewing Wrecking Ball from top down and Wrecking Ball walking sideways while shooting. I think Blizzard made a reference to Space Invaders there. :)

But they were quite literally just referencing the fact that crabs typically only walk sideways and it's been a long running thing that Hammond's mech looks loosely like a crab. Then they made a skin that turns the mech into a crab, leaning into the bit, and it's one of the most popular OW2 skins, further enforcing Hammond = Crab. @@XamposGR
a lot of the "joke" balance changes sounds a lot better and more fun and balanced than usual patches, developer really should stop trying to make the game balanced, they suck at it, focus on fun, the esport ship sailed long ago. and is a sick joke a lot of the changes are clearly pve skill tree abilities

Mercy's changes seem like the main one that they're legitimately experimenting with to maybe do away with damage boost nonsense and make Mercy less reliant on other heroes to get the job done or be helpless as she heals. But what do I know. I'm kind of sad there weren't more that seemed like they would fit in the main modes. They usually have several every year that are future changes hidden within the bunch of joke changes.
What I can see then doing: Changing dmg boost to a cooldown ability, instead of an alternate fire with no cooldown. It would be nerfed by needing to be timed situationally instead of just being always available, but also be buffed because you could then dmg boost and heal a target at the same time. Valkyrie would probably need to be nerfed to account for healing+dmg boosting everyone connected to the beam, or it could just stay that only the person directly connected to the beam would get the dmg boost.
I think there are some leftover voice lines, abilities, etc from last years April Fool's Day. That " tsin tsin " sound? That Genji deflecting projectiles and it was from last year. :)

The developer note for Tracer is written backwards. It says this:

My favorites are maybe some of the smallest things or something people don't use a lot. For example, JQ's pull towards Gracie (knife) is awesome. So much mobility, I love it. Also it gave me some saves by pulling me back up and swapping places with a Roadhog that got their cheeky pull on me. The other one I enjoyed was DF's enhanced melee punch. I got a few quick boops from it that I enjoyed. Lastly, Vortex on Soujourn is giving me some OG Orisa days on Well. Loved it :D

Some of these changes are straight-up jokes. Some of them are honestly quite decent, though. Rein, Sigma, Bastion, Mei - those all look actually quite good. And Mercy, of course. That's pretty much what I've been suggesting for a while :)

Real note Reinhardt being able to reflect projectiles with a slight drawback, Torb's turret being placeable to other surfaces (maybe not other players lol) and Orisa being able to be ridden by Hanzo sound like good changes.

Unironically, I want the Bastion changes to BE his rework.
recon form is completely useless though
that's basically bastion prior to the rework without the self healing and with the new ult
he has indefinite turret, no turret cooldown and the turret reload animation
The speed boost in recon and damage/ammo nerfs in turret are great, though scrap the default mode reversal and shotgun primary. Then remove reconfigure's cooldown/duration limit and give turret mode a slight slowing effect to simulate suppression.
So they brought back symmetras turret ball, but with torbs turrets and a hampster.
They forgot kiriko when this dropped. But now she's got weird changes too

the reaper change is good. so is the zen one. and the torb torret (surfaces only). cassidy's bounty is cool too. lots of actually good ideas for hero changes. i dont like the mercy one though. i prefer her pistol. but her dmg boost should be changed to something else. Junker queens flying knife dash is fun but op. mei's pillar would be a good buff for her movement if it only affects her and goes away immediately to get out of danger. also, is anyones mei spray challenge bugged? to emote thank you to anyone? it wont complete for me
