That was one of the strangest trends of the 80's. RAMBO (Rated R for ultra violence) gets a cartoon, and a breakfast cereal. POLICE ACADEMY (Rated R for sexual humor, and nudity) gets a cartoon, and action figures. By the time the 90's rolled around, I was expecting a "Basic Instinct" cartoon, and home game. You know... for kids!

As a kid, the most horrifying scenes were Murphy's death scene and Ew-mil/Toxic Waste guy. Enough to put me off the noodles I was eating at the time for life.
As a grown up, what scared me most was the boardroom death by ED-209. Not the death itself (which is still pretty horrifying) but the reaction to it in how it was seen as a disappointment and a costly glitch.
Also corporate takeover of the police force is too relevant right now.

First of all, I just want to say that "RoboCop" is one of my all time favorite films! I'm so happy you finally got to see it, and even happier than you LOVED IT!
TRIVIA TIME! This movie was followed by 2 sequels, 2 live action TV shows, 2 different cartoon series, and the 2nd attempt at a reboot is currently in the works!
-The type of gun that was used for RoboCop was a Beretta 93R machine pistol (the Auto 9) which had a compensator and some decorative dressing added to it to increase the size of the gun in his massive hand.
-Depending on what type of a shot they were working on, the RoboCop suit could weigh anywhere between 25 to 80 lbs! When scenes required Robo to walk up stairs, or get out of a car, Peter Weller only wore the top half of the Robo-suit, and they would only shoot him from the waist up.
-Peter Weller had worked with a mime coach for weeks to learn how to move like a robot properly. But, by the time he got fitted into his costume, none of the moves they had been rehearsing on would work. So, they had to halt production so Weller could learn to mime again with the suit on.
Oh, I could go on, and on, and on about this movie!

Fun fact: There's "talk" that the filmmakers were out to make a Dredd film but lost the rights at the last moment and made Robocop instead, which is why Robo uses direct Dredd lines like "Your move creep" just to stick it to 'em. Almost like, "Uh, yeah. You should have let us make a Dredd film you idiots!" And instead of MegaCity 1 they had Delta City. Just a couple of fun tidbits for ya'. Great video (as per usual). Be safe. Hug the groundhog. Cheers from Oz. 🍕🍻

I heard Ed Neumeier and Michael Miner wrote a Judge Dredd screenplay, but they couldn't sell it to any studio because no one who didn't go to a comic book store knew who Dredd was. So Robocop was born.

The line "Bitches leave" was so good in fact, that from then on, when the director was giving directions in this scene, he would refer to these actresses as "Bitches". "Okay, so you bitches pick up your stuff and run out looking concerned and then you say your line." LOL

14:22 Fun fact: Basil Pouledoris (the one who scored this movie) and Miguel Ferrer were featured in "Hot Shots Part Deux".

15:12 Back in '86 I was living in Dallas Tx...and by happenstance my roommate and I drove by them filming this scene...I didn't see Robo but I saw the billboard and kept my eyes open for a sci-fi movie coming out in the next year...boom out came Robocop.
