What!!! So Waller is mad at Heroes because her husband decided to go kill the man who un alived her daughter. She's not angry at the crooked politician or the man who destroyed her life. No the heroes. That makes since I guess.
I think that's the point, her logic is meant to be delusional, she is meant to be the other side if batman (similar to joker) she took a different route to put the blame on something, not on corruption but on vigilantes, only cos she can't see passed being a vigilante killed her husband In other words she is just crazy and delusional
I like this story. Is it great, no. Good, yes... I can see why she would hate vigilantes. I would be mad if my partner died while avenging the rape of My daughter only to be deemed equally criminal, while at the same time watching the city hail Batman for almost the same thing (he don't kill perps). That would make Me bitter, if I were a lesser mind. Amanda seems to have become bitter about it, rather than seeing the fault in it. Probably because She is still upset about her own losses. That is perfectly understandable to Me and is interesting because, like U say, it seems like she would have championed vigilantes. I feel like that would be the "comic way to go", in other words, expected. This is kinda unexpected. Not all together hyper dynamic, but it fits with a woman's rage when Her family is attacked. I think Absolute Power has been great. As was house of Brainiac. That just suffered from being to short and deserved a better a conclusion. Then again, these are just My opinions. Happy Hunting y'all
Villains blame others and targets the wrong people for their hurt. Jealousy and twisted revenge motivates villains like Luther. Hate that Amanda is taken this route.
I agree with you. It doesn’t make sense! I like her origin story more in My Adventures with Superman. She was a badazz military soldier, when her platoon were killed by aliens. It would be cooler if it was a Men in Black like group that knew about the aliens and never let them now of the impending doom. You’re welcome DC.
She seems more like someone who would side with The Authority rather than the Justice League. She doesn't think people like Batman are effective enough.
Bruce and Amanda mirror each others motivations to protecting the public from metahumans and dangerous criminals who possess the intellect and weapons of mass violence. Two sides of the same coin when it comes to contingency planning and strategic foresight within the DC universe. The emphasis on preparation and gathering intelligence to help outmaneuvering their adversaries.
Something I can say about this comic is Waller manipulating Marvin Collins to make sure that he’ll win the election after learning the truth about him and that her origins are lined up with Bruce Wayne witnessing his parents’ death by Joe Chill in 1939 and finding Joe Chill as Batman in 1955. Also, since Waller is five to nine years older than Bruce, this means that she was 13 to 17 years old when Joe Chill murdered Thomas and Martha Wayne and 29 to 33 years old when Bruce found Chill, making her 69 to 73 years old (but looks 60 to 64) in 2024. To be honest, I prefer Waller’s original origin and backstory because it’s simple and effective for her instead of all of this, and it’s likely that the next two issues will be worst than this issue. That’s all I have to say for this comic.
Real world job titles could easily be applied for an action/suspense/drama. They need to push to make Amanda less of a villain on a Dr Doom level. She’s extremely relatable. 8:44 I was typing right here & you see what needs to be added. Thank you for the drops.
I’ve never really understood Waller, her goal is to get rid of of meta’s but if that happens what’s next when Darkseid or any other of the fifty million off world threats pull up
Okay but where is the part where everything falls apart for her and all the super heroes take turns kicking her in a circle for the horrible stuff she's constantly gotten away with.
This issue seems that the police and officials do not care about the case experienced by Amanda Waller. Because her husband took his own action for the death of his daughter and Amanda Waller hated her husband's actions. Actually, Amanda Waller just wants to ask for justice in the case that happened to her husband and daughter. But with the police and officials not caring about her, that's what makes Amanda Waller look Paranoid and take action on her own.
I thought her origin would be something like when she was a little girl she lost one of her family members in midst of a battle between superman and zod
@@chaneladriana6829 I honestly thought they was gonna say the evil white man murdered her family because that’s all they do is portray us as bad all the time and I literally thought that’s where they would go some racism side to it because of course racism everything when you’re black, of course you’re always discriminated against according to the media lol they don’t have black privilege or anything which they so clearly do but nobody wants to admit
Her husband was murdered when he took the law into his hands, but in Walker's eyes candyman was a man of resources. He did foul acts but, he was covered by the powerful and influential. If counselmen can have skeletons in there closet so can metas
So Waller has an issue with vigilantes but, has no issue with Darkseid and General Zod invading Earth. The villains don’t have to worry about an Amazo coming after them. Lol
Unless I’m mistaken, didn’t Superman accidentally brought Darkseid to his doorstep because of his reputation? I don’t remember if he’s to blame or intergang
Absolute Power is a great story, but in this issue I don't understand why they always try to explain the behavior of the characters through traumatic events. It's like justifying the actions of a person like Waller, sick with power, and here we see her more maternal. They are elections now in the US, I hope they don't wear us readers down with Republican or Democratic politics, I just want to follow a good story. Amanda Waller is a great character because in reality we know that neither Superman nor Batman exist, but there are many Wallers, the United States secret service that tries to intervene around the world.
Dan picture if your loved one avendged the death of your children in an act of vigilantism and the commissioner deemed him a criminal. Yet these caped crusaders acting as vigilanties is deemed a hero and justified by the very person that called your loved one a criminal. She wants the hero's to be treated in the same light as her husband with the same driving force that drives batman to avenge his parents.
So another crisis that was started indirectly by Batman. This is like the 4th big crisis that he unintencionally starts something bad. I am starting to think he is the root of all evil in DC.
They both have a lot in common but at least Batman learned from his mistakes and refocused his efforts towards his family and love interest and his potential future daughter. Waller, on the other hand can’t accept Batman’s trust in his superhero friends especially powerhouses like Superman who could always become influenced by rage and become a weapon like he did in the last 20 years in the comics. Batman can reform anti heroes and trust Harley, White rabbit, Catwoman’s team, and Ivy. Waller, on the other hand would decide to target people close to the heroes including ex villains and new heroes like Dreamer, Harley, etc and turn them into assets rather they like it or not to obtain the ability to control the worlds monopoly and metahumans better than Batman.
I don’t get going after the ppl who try to stop the evil she experienced. But hey I’m not writing it. It I onow she’ll get hers once falisafe and amazo turn on her lol.
Failsafe is incredibly loyal to Waller. They both share the same goals but her Amazos are beginning to have human traits that might be their downfall. Brianiac Queen is definitely going to dominate everybody
After seeing what Superman was capable of in many adaptions including My adventures with Superman, I understand why she and Batman both went behind their scenes to acquire the resources to neutralize the Justice League should they be under the influence of hypnosis or powerful forces
