My life of collecting is much like yours. Collect/played with toys in my teens. Joined the Marine Corps and collected nothing. Came home and chased women. Then I was blessed to meet my future wife, who accepted me for me. She supports my hobbies as long as I don't go overboard. I agree, hobbies help me so much for mental health and as long as I don't sell them I can always go back and check them out to brighten my day. Take care and God bless.
This is my first video of yours that I’ve watched. I always find it fascinating why we as a community collect. And is it a mental health issue or a fad. These things don’t make our life better. They don’t add value to us as humans. But they make us feel better and sometimes kind of complete when we acquire new toys, comics, games, cards and more. I feel my collection comes from the joy of being poor as a kid and my parents still struggling to get me a figure here or there. And a video game(NES) on special occasions. But I always saw toys and games and comics and cards as “I’m glad I have these, but it sucks I can’t have those” there were a lot of things I could only admire on the shelf’s. So as an adult I’d like to buy some of those things I wanted as a kid. The problem is that kid is still inside me. And the companies now are selling to me as an adult. Because there are new things that I may want in my future that I could afford now. But what I’d like to do is continue giving my life to Jesus and follow his ways. I enjoy collecting but it isn’t the same as feeling the love of Jesus. And I feel that most when I feel I let go of all the worldly things. Still… I have a hard time letting go of my things and a hard time holding back from buying more things.
