Nemesis Prime didn’t officially exist yet, there was only Scourge and the Optimus clone from one G1 episode, so, yeah, an All back Optimus existed, but wouldn’t have fit with the theme of the game

There is an option to switch their Japanese names and certain texts throughout the game to Japanese, I just kept them English for the sake of ease of understanding. As for why most of this game is primarily in English to begin with, the world may never know!
Strange. After the third time I noticed I had 106 characters, just before I got megatron clone and dark hotrod. Then after I beat it the fourth time, I expected to have 108, but when I checked I only had about 85. Oh well, I don't get it. But great videos again, thanks!

I live in the US and have had my Japanese Ps2 a little over two weeks now, and I still have no problems while not using a step down transformer. I have this, and one thing I should say is I first tried beating the game 2 times per side, but noticed that if you complete the autobot side and decepticon side twice, it will take about 30 characters away from your list. The thing I figured out is to beat it twice on the autobot side, then once for the decepticon side, then play the decepticon side again and save and quit right after megatron clone and dark hotrod are unlocked. But don't complete the game the 4th time. Thanks!
This game was originally developed for both North America and Japan but at the last minute the American release was scrapped in favor of Transformers: Armada because the idiots in charge thought having two different Transformers games released at the same would be confusing to American customers.
@tfhunt Those not shown to transform are NPCs. Those that are may be unlocked and used as the game progresses. To unlock all playable characters requires replaying both Autobot and Decepticon Campaigns on one save file.

Also you're going to have to have a Japanese PS2 or a modded one. Ultimately you'll still end up spending around a hundred dollars or more anyway, and in my opinion it is not worth it. But my bro is crazy like that.

Hey again, sorry about that, I just realized why I had that problem. Somewhere along the game, I think when I played level 7 the 2nd time on decepticons, I overwrote the wrong file, and that screwed up the characters, erasing some of them. I now just beat it again 2 times per side, and I have all the 108 characters, so never mind, I figured out my problem.

EXTREMELY unlikely. My HD capture setup is out of action at this time, and to be honest this is not a game I look forward to coming back to.

Sharkticons are not Decepticons, they are henchmen of Quintessons.
Later toylines made Sharkticons part of the Decepticon armed forces, and I have a Titans Return Sharkticon Gnaw toy with the Decepticon insignia.
