Sinatra and Lee had genuine affection for each other. He conducted one of her albums and they maintained a close relationship for the remainder of his life. When Sinatra performed, as Lee's health deteriorated, he would send his private plane to pick her up and transport her to his concerts.
I love hearing these old standards. It reminds me of when my grandparents were still alive, they’d play songs like this on the piano. What a terrific interpretation! Great song to look up and see how all these artists over the years have made it their own.
I’ve always adored this version since I was nine years old. It has such an effortless, laidback, sexy swing to it. It’s such an underrated performance. 💜
I love this music. I am sick of the endless pausing of my playlist by RUclips that is always preceded by a RUclips Premium subscription app commercial! This racist and classist crap from Google has got to end.
I've listened to every verison of this song but only come back and listen to this version, the mood, the chemistry, just makes me want to get into a tub and melt all my troubles away.
Love this. My parents, born in 1924, used to be part of the original crowd that cheered on the young 'Frankie' in Hoboken! He has that Jersey Kool "you're on".....
Two fantastic voices. My father took us to see Sinatra in 1962 at the studio but it wasn't this performance unfortunately. Sinatra was a wonderful generous guy but hell on women.
Beneath it all, there is an incredible level of musicianship that supports the work of these two hugely charismatic performers Peggy and Frank, who then display so much charm, elegance, and sensuality..all the way through...making it all look sooo easy!
These 2 genius singers, like Billie Holliday convince you that they’re simply telling stories. Meanwhile the groove, the intonation, the musical spontaneity, are perfect.
I'm with you Gaby they were the coolest back then. I never saw this clip before and I watched most everything on Sinatra I'm a huge fan. Peggy is awesome too, love their relaxed style vocals with a song. These were the great standards. I'd love to be strolling with the one girl sighing sigh after sigh with my Tiger Girl. ;) Thanks for sharing it my dear I loved it too!
It's funny...I love Zeppelin with all my heart...listen to the drum and guitar interplay on "For your Life" off of Presence and you will be absolutely blown away by the timing...but listening to the absolute beauty and off the cuff brilliance of these two is unbelievable. Truly, they create a work of magic.
Peggy is an absolute genius at feeling rhythm. The band seems to gravitate to her groove and words consequently show statements and have much more weight and authenticity than Frank’s. Only she and Billie Holliday can pull off this magic trick of making us believe every word.
My favorite was when she sang with The Righteous Brothers on The Ed Sullivan In their own way they were linked. Phil Spector Produced "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" and he was the Protege of The Late Jerry Leiber & Mike Stoller. They Wrote "I'm A Woman" & "Is That All There Is".
It's so nice to have such a civil conversation. Yes I know the tune having sung it many times myself. My point was these artists do not "goof". They are consummate pro's and they make art not "goofs." I'm surprised you were not critical of their loose interpretation of the rhythm. Oh well, have a nice day anyway.
Andrea Wilkerson Have a nice day? That is an expression so brilliant that I've never heard anything like it before, and likely never will again. Your IQ keeps going higher and higher in my estimation. Listen, nitwit, the meaning of "goof" doesn't depend on who's doing it. Goof is an unintended mistake. Peg sang "show me" when Frank sang "tell me," the correct lyrics, and she quickly realized her flub. A real pro and artist, she instantly made a cute joke of it, and should get credit for that, just as you should get credit for living this long running on about fourteen brain cells.

Did similar for Ava. He was a gentleman.
Absolutely '

Peggy is a class act...what a voice...She has a charisma about her too even at the side of Sinatra..
Pure class! These 2 should have done a duet album. They complement each other by combining swing and finesse together
yes
===and two terrific voices I might add...
I love this music.
I am sick of the endless pausing of my playlist by RUclips that is always preceded by a RUclips Premium subscription app commercial!
This racist and classist crap from Google has got to end.
Amazing duet, Peggy is Franks equal and then some on this one. Magical voices floating through space 50 light years out.
Peggy inately swings... Frank not so much
@@ralphewell8398 He usually does swing Swing songs, but here he seems to be trying, improvising a more naturalistic-talk dialogue with her.
two voices, perfect timing. It looks so easy and it sounds so beautiful. I love this.
I've listened to every verison of this song but only come back and listen to this version, the mood, the chemistry, just makes me want to get into a tub and melt all my troubles away.
Now THAT's talet! No tattoos, no fog machines or fire work, just pure talent.
And no Autotune.
Such a sweet duet. Top class.
Nice chemistry. Thank you.
Love this. My parents, born in 1924, used to be part of the original crowd that cheered on the young 'Frankie' in Hoboken! He has that Jersey Kool "you're on".....
Sinatra in his prime. They both are infinitely cool, flowing seamlessly together with the musical phrases
‘62 is his prime?
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Two fantastic voices. My father took us to see Sinatra in 1962 at the studio but it wasn't this performance unfortunately. Sinatra was a wonderful generous guy but hell on women.
The King and Queen of flawless phrasing...
Pure. Talent. So good. Consummate professionals at the top of their game. Mesmerizing.
I really like the playfulness and flirtation .. nowadays all you get is a swipe or an emoji :: sigh ::
Go out then
Back then people used to REALLY connect with each other... sigh too!
that still happens people, go out and explore (after the covid ofcourse)

Far and away the coolest duet ever.
These are voices, no the stuff we hear nowadays
Damn right bro!
When these two cool cats get together you know we'll be having a Heat Wave...Whew! that sexual chemistry is intense!

so elegant, and sooo sexy...!
Just awesome. Two musical geniuses in a seemingly effortless performance! Thanks for posting this!
I like both of these singers
“You’re looking at me strangely” 😂😂😂
🤣😅🚫
Love both❤.

Ella Fitzgerald
I love anything Sinatra sings!!!!
These guys make awesome singing look as it is easy!
Dos de las mejores voces de esta deliciosa época musical... 💐
YEP..FRANK INTRODUCED ME TO PEGGY & I WORKED WITH HER..SO NICE..JE..6/2021..WEHO
2 pals that grew up during the big band era. ... I love jazz.
AN ADORABLE MELODY!! IN 1962 PEGGY WAS DROP DEAD GORGEOUS AND 42!! RIP DEAR PEGGY AND FRANK. ANOTHER COMMENT@1:49 PEGGY WAS A DREAM.
so heartwarming
This is amazing in so many ways.
Well dang, Peggy Lee just destroys Frank with zero effort. They don’t even sound in the sane league, she’s that good!
I wouldn’t say that. They were both in their prime and insanely talented.
Who could ask for anything more ?
Wonderful, charming, the assured casualness of this performance is sublime. Plus Sinatra at 1'46": "I got connections too" :-D
To the 8 people who didn't like it. You should all get together. 😜
I wish I could have seen this at leats once and my life woould be such a peace of magic
Frank Sinatra Show, Nov. 8, 1957
ahhhhhhhhh simply adore this
Ooooo, I should say! So beautiful!!
This is def not 1962- going by Sinatra's look and Lee's dress & hair, I'd guess it was around the mid to late 1950s. Great duet though.
i thin is around 58'
It’s 1957 according to @franksinatra on Instagram
Thats my idea as well, esp. Sinatra's look.
" You show me and I'll tell ya" she says... The ability to improvise and make it look so casual was because they were both masters of their craft.
What a charmer he was!!( cutie pie)

A PEGGY SUE NO LA ESCUCHE NUNCA PERO ME GUSTO ESTE DELICADO DUO CON EL GENIO FRANK SINATRA, GRACIAS POR COMPARTIRLO FELIZ LUNES
Mª Paloma Rica Gracias por tus palabras, besos.
GERMAN QUINTERO Gracias Germán, saludos.
pilar Herrera Igualmente amiga Pili, besos.
Soooooo cool ! I LOVE it !
I Think this clip was recorded on November 8, 1957.
Would you check the Data once more?
In 1960, Sinatra didn't sing with Miss Lee on TV.
Fuck i wish i lived my years in the 1950-60s... :(
same.
OMG YES!
"it's fine work" :)
what a couple...amazing...love it
Frank And Peggy. How Do I Get That Work? LOL
Give me the old time classy entertainment.
I love my sinatra!!
Sinatra was so generous with other singers and instrumentalists. He loved to sing, didn't he?
❤️❤️
Great
Hey, an earlier clip from this special came from the videotape version.
🥂💐🌹👏☀️❤️
s'fine work :)
❤️
It's fine work.
waiting for the time machine to be ready...
Ah, Frank. Gosh, I would've loved to switch places with Peggy during the course of this video.
She addresses the #1 Conundrum of life; "Is sex love?" Amazing.
There’s enough sexual tension here to classify this video as a porno.
Круто))
She made alpha blue eyes look like a shy little school boy!
♡
read somewhere that they were an item. nice chemistry here
Some on else with the same clip claimed it's from 1957
✨✨✨...
Peggy Lee was the coolest female jazz singer ever in my opinion. Dinah Shore and Rosemary Clooney were a close second
Ms. Peggy was the all-time sexiest of singers and Sinatra was far from inured from her irresistible allure.
Mr. Sinatra’s haircut tells us this is definitely not 1962!
Made a mistake that was from 1959.Another special that was preserved on tape
I wonder if Frank & Peggy we’re ever romantically involved. Would have been a volatile pair.
Tango Bango they were on and off.
sure bet
I've done my fair share of work ta da
Anyone know what key this version is in?
This version is in the key of C#/Db.
I think maybe... G.....
Db
No doubt Frank was THE VOICE.
Uber 😎
1:49 Frank "I've got connections." You sure do, Frankie, ya pimp. lol Peggy is a dream.
Very, very nice, but Sinatra's little quips are always annoying. She has a lovely quality!
Does it get any better? The Chairman Of The Board and North Dakota's Norma Deloris Egstrom.
Probably 1957. Peg goofed at the end, but made a cute joke out of it.
No goof there
The correct word in the lyric is "tell," imbecile. Frank sang "tell" and Peg, whom I love, sang "show." She was very busy in those days; it happens.

You know, you sound like a real drag. I guess name calling is your big thing. Okay. Have fun.
lose the kitty avatar. It's just...*sigh*
pull more e=mc2 which is failure!
Part of the hotness they're exuding is because they were lovers too. ;)
Frank looks scared in this. Not like with Dinah.
Adele should sing these songs on an album. Adele sings Sinatra!
Do ya think Frank nailed her?
Yes they were in the middle of an affair at this time
Frank looks like he doesn't want to be there, and his smiles seem really insincere.
Great
