Thank you for a lovely walk -- the cemetery looks well cared for! I enjoy cemetery walks and hope you continue doing them! 🌺

I have always loved cemeteries also.
    To me they are peaceful.
I often go walk around them to read the headstones.
It is our history and some are very interesting.
It's amazing how many little children graves there are, from the early years, since they didn't have much by way of medicine.

I feel the same exact way you do about the fascination of a past and some of the ways people lived and died and the tragedy and triumph stories in between. I draw the line on naming kids “Ebenezer” 😁🤦🏻‍♂️

I would love to see a hologram of the individuals, especially historic people. A voice recording if possible. Nobody should be forgotten. We all have stories.

You need a holding vault during the winter, because with a deep hard freeze and no digging equipment back then, you had to wait until spring for burial. This happened to one of my great grandmothers: she was held in cold storage until the ground thawed. Very traumatic for the family as I understand it.

The spider is nesting in the little girl's stone to keep her company. Better to have life around it than to be left alone and forgotten.

There is a very old cemetery near Wapella, Illinois…..DeWitt County, with a statue of a beautiful woman. The story is the man was wealthy, had married the woman recently and she died. He ordered the marble from Italy and had it sculpted here. It stands out in the graveyard.

You should check out the spot where Jerry Lee Lewis is buried. It's a small cemetery. I'm not sure if he has a headstone yet. The video that brought me to your channel was the John Hughes video.

Enjoy your videos on old Illinois cemeteries. Have you ever visited cemeteries in Quincy IL? My 3rd GGF I believe is buried in a catholic cemetery in Quincy but have hit a road block trying to locate where he is buried. If you ever plan on going there let me know and I will send you more info. He died between 1850-54.
